All the bobbleheads.

We're back home now. Got my Carlos Gomez bobblehead:

Earlier, Meade took his Althouse bobblehead out to Miller Park:

We had a nice 3d row seat — as the home team (which has the best record in baseball) lost. [Jean Segura and Ryan Braun weren't playing after injuries in last night's game, Braun having injured Segura (unintentionally) and, independently, injured himself.]

And a close-up look at the sausages:

Big deal. The Braves held "Bark in the Park Day" at The Ted today. Dog owners bought tickets for their dogs. The TV coverage showed one owner and a dog both eating the same hot dog from opposite ends.

BEAUTIFUL PICS.

My Cubs are dreadful again, but they managed to win today against your Brewers.

They're in the middle of an unofficial 5-year rebuilding plan, and the blog site natives are very restless.

Bill Veeck said in 1959 that 5-year plans don't produce pennants, and only produce new 5-year plans. But his way didn't turn out too well either.

I took in a Mets game at Shea once, from the highest balcony. Who they played and who won I don't know.

And before that, on a boy scout outing, some game at Yankee Stadium, with a seat that afforded a nice view of only the outfield.

Since then the Yankees have tried handgun night, and the Mets D-battery night.

I don't know what it cost then, but if I went to it, it was cheap.

Ha. Of course, I like to think of her more as my trophy wife.

Wilber, Hammel was stunning. Very impressive outing.

There was a good number of Cubs fans at the game. We sat next to a family from Chicago who seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot.

Shut out and nearly no-hit, on our way out, I said to the dad, "now I know how you guys feel".

He smiled and said, "I know wha' tcher talkin' about".

And as an added plus, she's way cuter than Carlos. But the Althouse bobble - head ... is that one word or two? Just checked with my trophy sig other and she says it's one word and is not amused. I like the split. Oh my I'm getting deeper into trouble as I go along.

The sausages are TALL.

Somehow...we must arrange for Althouse to throw out the first pitch there... She is the Lou Gehrig of blogging (minus the ALS, hopefully!)

Gomez is a knucklehead, not a bobblehead!

I went to the Astros game today. I was about sitting where you guys sat, but about 34 rows back. Collin McHugh, recently called up from the minors, pitched a gem.

Yes, Hammel's been quite the pleasant surprise this year. He's not overpowering but his command and movement have been top notch.

I was impressed with Peralta today, too.

I felt bad for Braun yesterday after he accidently brained his teammate with a practice swing. I've never seen that occur in pro ball. He's so very lucky he wasn't seriously injured.

Lucky there's a dome. I went to a couple games on days like today at County Stadium back in the 80s.

Brutal.

The sausage run in only one direction.

In the House of Althouse do you wnat to know how the sausage is made?

I haven't been to a Brewer's game since they played in the American League. I loved Robin Yount and Paul Molitor. They've had a pretty good ball club the last 6 years or so. Would have been nice for them had they been able to keep Prince Fielder.

Great seats! Did Meade bring the mitt?

Meade বলেছেন...

Nope. Left him at home. With the Jeb.

Three comments on the baseball post-
1. Great stadium, especially on a rain or cooler weather day. The geniuses here in Minnesota built their new stadium without a dome.
2. I miss watching Carlos Gomez, who though was a rookie here, really hustled and had great speed, even though he was working on hitting.
3. Meade- Great comment at 7:11!

I was sitting behind you...about 1,000 feet behind you in Section 407. Up from SC to visit my daughter at MU and it was Sigma Kappa night up in the nose bleed section...at least we didn't have to worry about getting hit by a ball.

BTW...y'all sure know how to tailgate!
