Train jumps track and rides up the escalator.

At O'Hare.

I heard the driver had a heart attack.

Well of course it took the escalator. The elevators at O'Hare are pretty slow.

The driver is distantly related to Obama, I think.

Imagine it happens at 6 AM instead of 2 AM.

Another train wreck out of Chicago?

I always liked the GG-1 that made it off the end of the track in DC and went into the Union Station waiting room and basement.

Train crash photos were the stuff of kiddom.

That's what newspapers were for. Photos for kids.

Obamacare a week before the deadline to register.

It sure looks like it went up the stairway between the escalators, doesn't it. But being accurate wouldn't make for a good headline.

The most dangerous part of flying is the drive/ride to the airport!

Heart attack? More like union job performance. Chicago Tribune:

"The operator of the train was walking and talking after the crash. She suffered minor injuries to her leg and will undergo drug and alcohol tests as part of the standard procedure, said Robert Kelly, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308."

She could not possibly do her job any worse, but she will be defended and any consequences at all will be fought by the union.

This is what patronage gets you.

Jumps?

Looks like it ran out of track.

That happens when you fail to stop at the end of the line.

The City that Works. Except when it doesn't.

Another reason to legalize guns in ChiTown. You can shoot the subway train chasing you up the stairs.

More from the union flack: "She indicated that she had worked some overtime, more than usual, and that she was very tired," Kelly said. The operator, who has worked for the CTA for about a year, had about 16 hours between shifts, he said.

I think most of us get 16 hours between shifts. If we're lucky. But since she's a woman, I predict that the next step will be calling her the true victim -- of all the terrible demands that working women have to endure. You can't blame or criticize her! War on women!

At least it was underground. The operator on this NYC subway car ending its run at the Jamaica Avenue el terminal was in a little more precarious position when his car attempted to make a break for Nassau County. Watch your step on those doors near the front of the car.
