"Superstitious rituals can really work..."

"... but it’s not magic, it’s psychology."

What’s less intuitive is how a simple physical act, like knocking on wood, can alleviate that concern.

Many government initiatives seem to serve a similar purpose: psychologically alleviate a concern without any actual improvement of the situation, if not cause new harm.

Yet prove much more expensive than knocking on wood.

I'm convinced. Psychology is superstition.

So let's send exorcists to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and Capitol Hill.

If I mention the score on a blog while the Sox are winning and then they loose, the idea of not re-immersing in the event I originally immersed in, when I mentioned the score, would be tantamount to a form of disingenuity on my part.

Always want to do the right thing... and everything else will be added on later. that's in the bible.

is it lose or loose?

Its loose if they lose by more than one run.

BTW The Sox are wining. I thought I mention it just to show how unsuperstitious I am.

If the Sox loose it will be Althouse fault.

The Sox are still winning.

Althouse may be bringing us good luck?

That remains to be seen.

Big papi just hit another home run.

Althouse is good luck.
