I live in Austin, Texas. I've never seen any hipster - and we have a lot of them - appear “badass”. I find it interesting how those that cannot create art, dumb down art, and then call it art.
The best part of the comments to the article itself? If you presented any of those hipster douchebags with pictures of the very same statues swaddled in Victorian stylin' and told them the photos were a pathetic effort of 19th century Pecksniffs at hiding the naked perfection of the statuary, they would fall all over themselves professing outrage at such appalling narrowmindedness.

Wow. Everything looks a LOT better with clothes on.
Palladian, come on, look at David again, that is hot dragging around a boar's head like that nonchalantly and you get to at least imagine him having a regular size dick.

You mean David's dick wasn't regular size? Why am I only now learning this? And all this time I felt so... superior.
In the 60's, my impression was that "hipster" was becoming a word you expected your parents, or at least an older brother, to use. I've only recently become aware that "hipster" is back in fashion. Or is it only in fashion among those who think they are Kool? I heard George Stephanopolous use it, so I think I'm right.
The photoshopping was well done. I like the concept, but most of the clothes are pretty lame. Actual badass clothes would be better. (David in camo and blaze orange.) As far as the "sacrilege" comments, I think it's pretty much a law of nature that it's impossible to commit artistic sacrilege in anything as light and frivolous as an internet post like this. Smile.

How about Venus de Milo with a visible thong?
Those aren't hipster clothes.
The word sacrilege ring a bell?
They're not hipster clothes, but I do like it.

Venus(?) in a bra is hot, art to tart.

Plus they had to cut the clothes to get them on, like slice the shoes and wrap them around the stone. Because the statues are just flat uncooperative.
Hipster and badass as modifiers for the same noun? Hard to fathom.

The statues are too well built. Male hipsters are skinny and have no muscle tone; female hipsters are either fat or super skinny.
Had to laugh at the commenter who thought those were real clothes.

Fashion backward!

Now if we could just get hipsters to turn to stone................
