Patients with non-psychotic mental disorders (or who were not mentally ill) could be diagnosed with sluggish schizophrenia. Along with paranoia, sluggish schizophrenia was the diagnosis most frequently used for the psychiatric incarceration of dissenters....Ironically, reading about "sluggish schizophrenia" may cause you to manifest the very symptoms you are reading about.
The incidence of sluggish schizophrenia increased because, according to Snezhnevsky and his colleagues, patients with this diagnosis were capable of socially functioning almost normally.
Why am I reading about it this morning? I clicked on a link in the Wikipedia article "Political abuse of psychiatry in the Soviet Union," which was something I linked to in my previous post in this sentence: "There's something very creepy about government portraying political beliefs in terms of mental health."

Anybody who doesn't like big government is obviously insane. Independent thinking is dangerous under the various systems of government derived from Marxism. In such systems people are drones, interchangeable and replaceable when they malfunction.
Yes. Many of the Democrats currently in leadership roles and media have suggested conservatism as a mental disorder.
Enjoy living in the FEMA trailer!
I think it's because they don't understand conservatism, capitalism and fact-based decision-making. They have a faith and everything that deviates from that faith-based doctrine is deviant and thus a mental illness.
Okay, okay... I confess to the "sluggish" part.
Well, that explains Shotgun Joe.
But, yes, anyone who doesn't love Der Fuhrer must be insane.
Der Fuhrer is everything, all that is good and true.
You must believe that.

Since when is having faith in God a mental disorder? Since this person says so? My God doesn't reside in DC either.
Well, contemporary liberals, arguably the cousins of communists, already think conservaties are insane, right?
(I had a right carrot ">" typo in my original post that was making me crazy.)
(NOT insane.)
Sluggish schizophrenia can be diagnosed with salt.
Didn't rightist Michael Savage write a book titled "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder"?
This is the plan they have to take away the gun rights of people who disagree with them politically.
All Tea Party members must have some sort of sluggish schizophrenia, so disarm them and take way their rights or incarcerate!! Hard core right leaning people....obviously mentally ill. Right? Did you vote for Romney or any other Republican?....you must be sick. Not convinced on the myth of Global Warming.....you need to be locked up.
You think I'm being sarcastic? All of these sentiments have been seriously put forward by the left/progressives. NOW they have the power to act on their tyrannical fantasy.
Soviet psychiatry and the DSM.How many supposed mental illnesses are actually challenges to misplaced authority.Anyone remember the movie about Frances Farmer?
Yes, as others have already highlighted, just wait until the IRS begins to enforce Obamacare. What EVER could possibly go wrong?
This therapeutic analogy is quite common in liberal thought.
Here is an example - being concerned about educational performance, even of ones own children, is caused by Narcissist disorders - this is nothing new by the way, and typical across many social science fields.
http://www.tcrecord.org/Content.asp?ContentID=16181
"A review of literature that addresses narcissistic parenting yielded eight characteristic behavioral patterns: expectations of perfection in children, particularly with regard to intellect; a grandiose sense of superiority and entitlement; relentless fault-finding; projection of personal fantasies onto children; an absence of empathy for children and their needs; a preoccupation with control; conditional approval; and a well-intentioned view of their own self-centered motives and insensitive actions as being beneficial for children. These conceptual formulations provided a basis for examining proposals and policies found in the National Commission on Excellence in Education’s 1983 report, A Nation at Risk, and provisions of the more recent No Child Left Behind legislation."
Is "sluggish schizophrenia" sort of like posting a couple dozen comments under a bunch of different Blogger names in a single thread, being found out, having a meltdown, then continuing on as if nothing had happened?
Sluggish schizophrenics misread others signals, they think they have them figured out, when they should be concentrating on their own issues, which are many and serious in the case of some.

Yes.
Did Whores finally get the boot?
The slow clingers still manifest a guns and religion clinging disorder, every damn day.
That offends Muslims who know they are our superiors and have won our Presidency.
So an unnecessary 4 billion anti personell wad cutter crounds have been stored up by Obama's Agencies as the best Treatment regamine prescibed for administering "target Practice" to slow submitting ones.
DBQ is quite correct. The leftist meme that the right is insane to suggest impeachment is already being strongly advanced, i.e., anyone merely suggesting the possibility of such a thing is beyond the pale and mentally deranged. The process is WELL underway-the seeds are already being planted in the public mind that conservatives, Tea-Party members, etc are mentally unbalanced at the very least. And then of course we've just had the sight of NAACP Chair Emeritus Julian Bond calling the Tea Party "racist" and "The Taliban Wing" of American politics and thoroughly deserving of focused IRS attention.....but Glenn Beck is the crazy one..
@AprilApple/
I dearly hope "Whores" didn't get the boot. Despite being, shall we say, slightly over-the-top distasteful at times, he often pointed out unpleasant truths polite company would often rather ignore.

That's a trick of the bad faith commenter. Whores is a moby who periodically puts up comments that are extremely racist. This, I believe, is done to hurt this blog, not because it is something sincerely believed or intended as satire. The comments that seem okay or even excellent to you are, in this game, a smokescreen. I've seen it many times over the years, and I believe I know it when I see it. In any event, I've got to rely on my own judgment, and I'm not going to tolerate a destructive moby like that.
The Chicago machine absorbed the lessons of leftism, including Stalin's coercive ways, but also using Alinsky methods.
The abuse of psychiatry is truly frightening.
These are evil people.
Is this the "fever" that Saint Barry keeps referring to when talking about Republicans?
"There's something very creepy about government portraying political beliefs in terms of mental health."
Already this week I've questioned the mental health of Stanley Kubrick and the United States Supreme Court. Oops. Not in the same thread, at least.
One of the difficulties with abortion is that the overwhelming majority of us are opposed to infanticide. Thus we're not having a moral dispute in regard to the rightness of infanticide. Rather, we're having a factual dispute in regard to whether the baby is a baby at all. We're arguing about reality, in other words. And of course a disagreement about reality can seem crazy to other people.
Totalitarians--You don't agree with me? Then you are insane.
