"So when Democrats are pushing to ban people on the 'Terror Watch List' from buying guns..."
"... they’re really pushing to have a constitutional right blocked by your placement on a secret list put together by unaccountable bureaucrats with no due process. Just to be clear what they’re really talking about."

By any means necessary.
And one more reason why I think Democrats are actually evil, not just wrong or stupid.
They mean to enslave.
BANG!
The banality of evil. Each small step gets rationalized for the greater good.
Something about Fen's Law goes here.
"They mean to enslave."
You don't really think so, do you? Misguided, perhaps, and ignorant about guns for sure. But they're hardly the first group to be afraid of what they don't understand. Dems like to claim they are the reality-baed, science-loving team. But when it comes to guns, they approach the subject with all the finesse of a medieval inquisitor.
Tonight I finished G.K. Chesterton's "The Man Who Was Thursday." Very wild book. It was published in 1908 but aside from the Edwardian style it could have been written by Philip K. Dick.
The main character is a poet named Syme, who has been recruited by a special branch of Scotland Yard:
"You have evidently not heard of the latest development in our police system," replied the [policeman]. "I am not surprised at it. We are keeping it rather dark from the educated class, because that class contains most of our enemies. But you seem to be exactly in the right frame of mind. I think you might almost join us."
"Join you in what?" asked Syme.
"I will tell you," said the policeman slowly. "This is the situation: The head of one of our departments, one of the most celebrated detectives in Europe, has long been of opinion that a purely intellectual conspiracy would soon threaten the very existence of civilisation. He is certain that the scientific and artistic worlds are silently bound in a crusade against the Family and the State. He has, therefore, formed a special corps of policemen, policemen who are also philosophers. It is their business to watch the beginnings of this conspiracy, not merely in a criminal but in a controversial sense.
You can read it at Project Gutenberg here.
They way the Lefties define, "terrorist", Ann couldn't walk into a store to buy a Super Soaker.
Try to make this argument to your average American. Especially women. I don't think they will understand.
Big Sis has already labeled Christians and military vets as the ones to keep a eye on. Disarming them is next the logical step. The billion bullet purchase by DHS was pure coincidence. "Hey, it was on sale."
...so you have received your outrage of the day...carry on.
I understand that on the streets of New York $350 cash will get you a Russian or Chinese army issue full auto AK-47, no questions asked.
Why would a bad guy even try to buy a "legal" AR-15 for $1,000 and up?
Machine's 1 of 3 from the field. Better than Obama!
Apparently the whole gun control push is still going on.
Thanks, activist-in-chief.
If you can't see why they want to do this and where this would end up, your are either entirely ignorant of history or dumb.
You don't really think so, do you?
I do. Nothing in the history of the Democrat Party has given me reason to provide them benefit of the doubt.
Their actions are to strengthen a police state and curb freedoms in all areas outside of whom one bones.
So the government sets up a watch list but doesn't watch those on the list so lets expand back ground checks!
This is really one of the things that President Bush should get the blame for creating. Actually, he did get some blame, while he was President. But like Gitmo and unwarranted surveillance, now that Obama's President, no one seems to care. Worse, they seem to actually want more of it. Don't forget besides "Watch Lists" added to firearms; there's already efforts to expand TSA to trains and buses. Not just 2nd Amendment, but you may have waived your 4th Amendment rights anytime you decide to ride the Acela or Greyhound.
It does sound pretty bad when you put it that way.

I find that hard to believe.
I can't remember how many times I've been asked by the mouth breathers I've worked around and with, if I could make their evil assault weapon look alike full auto, or make a silencer for it.
I always answered, sure. For $250,000 dollars.
It isn't a simple task and certainly isn't worth going to jail for.
About a month or so back, someone posted that he lived in Connecticut and worked in New York. He had a Connecticut CC permit, but also wanted one in New York so that he could carry his gun back and forth with him, besides he was curious as to how hard it would be to get one.
So he got a sample bottle of Valium from his doctor and set forth to City Hall. It was not a pleasant experience - he said midway through the form filling and interview process, his seat next-over neighbor suddenly stood up, said, "@#$%! this! I am just going to buy one on the street!" and stormed out. However, our hero stuck with it and finally got his NY CC permit, I think he said at a cost of $650 plus the time and aggravation.
However, he was still curious, so he mentioned to some characters he thought likely might know someone else that he might be in the market for an assault rifle, and a couple of days later a person showed up on his doorstep with a good AK-47 in exchange for $350 cash and no chit-chat.
Double Secret Probation? NO! Triple, or even quadruple Secret Probation!
Hagar I'm not doubting you, but I doubt the person that told you that.
Yep. A list that
They won't let you know that you're on,
If you find out it'll be because "Oh, you can't get on this flight you're on the list!",
You ask, they won't tell you WHY you're on the list, and
They won't tell you how to get OFF the list.
Throw in false matches, and yeah, why NOT screw somebody's life over and take their rights away because they're on it?
Despite what you may have heard or read in comments, rifle/pistol suppressors are legal and easy to get. You have to fill out some federal forms and such as well as give them $200 for the tax but after a getting longer processing delay, approval paperwork you get. You need to be able to legally own one but if you are, it is not that bad a process.
As to full auto, some mil-spec rifles can be converted for about $15 in parts. You can modify some rifles to double/triple fire with a jewelers file if you know (or really, don't know) what you are doing when performing your own trigger job.
