Probably you are misreading the literate Zeus' body language with your inapproriate impersonation at a time when sympathy is expected to be conveyed.

You have to watch the Kirk Douglas clip in the previous post to understand why the dog would find this upsetting. From the dog's point of view, I was yelling at Meade in a scary way.

Get a damned dog! Otherwise some poor rescue foster like me has to stay home all the time taking care of your damned dog. Now go pick him up. He loves you, and always will, no matter what you do. Hard to beat that. Besides he's chewing up my last shoe.

Although my neighbor let his dogs pop over yesterday and it is kind of fun to pet them and then let them go home.

No dogs here but the cat doesn't understand singing....or maybe I'm not doing it in the correct key for her. When I decide to sing in the shower, she comes in and meows weirdly at the shower door until I stop.
If hubby and I are having a spirited conversation, not an argument, but louder and more animated than normal, usually a political issue, she will come rushing in to jump back and forth into our laps so we will calm down and pet her. Once we stop 'conversing' shes all: "My work is done, I'm outta here"
Animals are funny.
Also, weirdly, the cat doesn't care if I'm playing my guitar and singing. Maybe it is the water in the shower + singing that freaks her out. She hates water.

Since I was ten. I used to be a professional singer/musician in my misspent youth... and I even taught kids how to play guitar when I was in college to help pay the bills. THAT was really fun. The kids were such good earnest students and were so thrilled and proud of themselves to be able to entertain their families. All that was eons ago. I just plink around for my own fun now.

Agree with the previous commenters. Drop your cruel neutrality and commit already. They're like kids as you'll never feel quite the same way about other people's as you do about your own.

I'm working at it. They don't hurt as badly as they did when I first started, at any rate. Having weekly lesson's helps.
Wow! I just played the clip and my sleeping Lab got up and left the room.
There is no valid reason not to have a dog.
