Went to eat at Lombardinos on Wednesday (side note: It was packed! It's always awesome to see a restaurant full on a weekday). On the walk home up Highland, we saw people shoveling off the Tennis Courts. Outdoor practices for Spring Sports are a little delayed, I'm guessing.
I might take my ball over tomorrow and shoot free throws. Today I took Joey to the dog park and played a little one on one tennis ball fetch using the ChuckIt. Joey was happy.
I see many people on the street in different modes of protection against the elements.
Cold or just need a little something to ward off the breeze?

Meade was clearing snow in a random act of kindness. Who knows where all the children are?
I was going to say, 'Now that's dedication. Meade takes his own shovel to clear off the court so he can shoot hoops with his sweetie', but doing it for somebody else's kids, that's a good man.
Kiss your husband, Mrs. Meade, he really is a keeper.
AJ, I had Louisville beating Indiana in the final: 67-63. I'd be happy to see Michigan take Indiana's place. Or even Syracuse. As long as Louisville wins.
I didn't shovel after our last snow. It stayed cold for a few days, drat it all, but yesterday it finally melted away thanks to sun and temps in the high 50s.
Ah, I see Ann and Meade are also suffering from the curse of the ice dam water damage. One of the things we suffer to live in the land of "Live Freeze or Die"
I've still got Louisville and Florida - so, can't cheer for MI, today. Am also trying to coordinate vacation plans for the summer - getting me and the kid (Twin Cities) to Pinedale to meet up with the hiking husband/dad. It's the 26 year old's first backpacking trip - am really looking forward to it?
Our house project just took down a weight bearing wall between the living room and kitchen - it's a mess, here.
How do you come by your affinity for the Cards, Meade? Mine comes from having lived in Louisville period 1976-1994. during Denny Crum's two national championships in the 80s. You?
(PS: In those early days pre-cable Louisville was a BB fan's heaven for broadcast TV. Not only did one get every home-game of Louisville, UK, Indiana and Purdue televised, there was also the Big Ten Game-of-the-Week, SEC Game-of-the Week, and the National Game-of-the-Week by CBS and ABC. Tough to beat that for a roundball fan! Especially given the quality of the programs of those four schools at that time.)

I went out and watered plants today. Nothing is growing yet but it's been so dry that I'm afraid anything I planted last summer is dead.
It's got me thinking fondly of moving "home" and dreaming of The View and pretending, what if I could afford to build a house on the lot.
And realizing that... it's in hardiness zone 3. *sigh*

Clearing the snow, but where's the resulting play? The tension was built up nicely, but then --- coffee not hoops?
Is Meade a hoopster? That's old school dedication: getting out the shovel to clear the court for play. I hope you were able to chuck a few shots.
Did you put a net on that rim?

A shovel was left out to be used, but a ball was not.

I can picture doing that as a teenager - shoveling off old Rhawnhurst school b-ball court on a sunny day so we could play a few games.
AndI suspect Meade has lost a bit of his interest in NCAA's since Indiana lost.

Briefly wafting in to wish ALL my fellow commenters and hostess a very Happy Easter. Love you always. :)
Cheers,
Victoria
And may the Bunny fill your basket this Sunday, mum.
Definitely, Happy Easter to all the Althousians.
In America we call it "reality TV" or "stalking", and connoisseurs of basket-ball use the term Folie de mars.
Ann;
HOW 'BOUT THEM WOLVERINES?
Happy Easter, Victoria!
Happy Easter, everyone.

Happy 50th Birthday to Issob Morocco! May he have many more years to read the Meadehouse Blog!
Happy Birthday little brother!

Hey Ann, it looks like Matt is at it again with the picture arrangement message game.

I wish I could ignore all the phallic imagery as well.
I found that video very touching. Happy Easter to you and all here.

Nope. We had to get access to that spot for another reason.

Didn't do a bracket this year Meade. But liked Marquette until yesterday. Now I think Syrscuse or Duke will win it.
Maybe time to go down to the "pound" and pick out a good dog. One who longs to shovel snow, shoot hoops, and hold the ladder.
