All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
by Robert Fulghum
- an excerpt from the book, All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten
All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten. ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School. These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had a basic policy to always put thing back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are - when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.
If someone had said this about me, and there was truth to it, I would feel like Inga:
And you're a brain-dead, drink-addled, frustrated old cow who pathetically skulks around here, littering comments with your "me too!" bullshit, sucking up to whoever will deign to give you the time of day, probably looking for a schlub that's desperate enough to throw you a fuck.
If someone had said this about me, and there was truth to it, I would feel like NquB.
And you're a brain-dead, drink-addled, frustrated old pseudo intellectual who pathetically skulks around here, littering comments with your stupid non sensical bullshit, probably looking for a schlub that's desperate enough to read through one of your comments.
Nathan, lying to the American people is not impeachable. Presidents have done so since Washington for numerous reasons. If lying made one ineligible for office, DC would be a ghost town.
Historical note. Nixon was not impeached for Watergate. He was impeached for forming the Plumbers who carried out illegal activities to coverup Watergate and to identify and punish whoever was leaking info to the press. It is also worth noting that if the GOP had been the party hacks the Dems were in the Clinton trial, Nixon would have finished his term. Nixon resigned after a meeting in which Goldwater told him that the GOP leaders of the House and Senate were going to vote for impeachment.
BTW, Hilary worked for the Special Prosecutor in the Nixon investigation. I"m sure those lessons were a great help in the Clinton investigations.
Getting back to Benghazi; the stand down order had to come from very high up. The standard order is to go to the defense of US personnel. Obama was informed of the situation as it was happening. He either gave the stand down order or allowed it to be given. Why? I'd like to see Obama testify before the House, but that is even more unlikely than Hilary testifying. If we had a real media instead of the lapdog, sycophants .....ahhh I can only dream.
... Republicans are again blocking anything and everything Democrats do?
Yep. Just like the Democrats do with budget(s) and legislative "pocket vetoes" ... who needs transparent legislation and executive leadership, eh?
Btw, this apparent Benghazi cover-up is about a 2 on a scale of 10 with Reagan's Iran-Contra being a 10.
Good of you to mention Iran-Contra, where no US personnel or Ambassadors died. How you figure Benghazi is only a "2" when 4 US folks died is amazing. Never-the-less, Iran-contra was about clandestine gun running and I suspect if the truth is told about Benghazi, it will also be about clandestine gun running.
Question: Does anyone think 13 or so Obama administration folks will be indicted, by a *independent* prosecutor, like those in Iran-Contra?
... Benghazi; the stand down order had to come from very high up. The standard order is to go to the defense of US personnel. Obama was informed of the situation as it was happening.
Absolutely, as I have remarked earlier on other threads. The SOP for Defense, State, and Intelligence requires it. Notification is one of the primary duties of the *duty officer* or *officer of the day* in OCONUS installations.
Even way back in the 60's the initial incident report would have been encrypted and submitted and received within 10 minutes or so. Simultaneously, remedial actions would be underway and only ceased mid-deployment upon direct order(s) from senior command in Washington DC.
However, as stated earlier...lying is de rigueur in Washington so we are unlikely to learn anything.
There were also reports that the attackers had freed some prisoners. Which may have been the major reason for the attack in the first place. The compound may have been a black prison. This would present major problems as Obama has claimed to have shut down all the black sites.
Polluting this thread about actual goings on in the political world, and making it all about you and your fucking feelings and delusions. Fully half of the over 200 comments are from you. Get over yourself.
Get your own blog, you dried up wrinkled old twat. Stop piggybacking on Althouse's platform with your moral scoldings and delusions of adequacy. It's disgusting.
You are insane, seek help before you go on a shooting rampage at the local grade school or mall. YOU pollute Althouse threads with your vile evil insanity. You NEVER have once commented on the post topic. Your only focus seems to be me, does this seem like normal healhy behavior to you?
Seriously you need help. What a repulsive creature you are, you are truly an "it".

Have a nice day.
I'm sincerely flattered.
Thank you Inga.
You are quite welcome, anytime.

Correction: Nixon was not impeached. He resigned before being impeached.
Am I allowed to be pendantic with my own posts
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books...
I remember Jane ...

Aridog, only if he press can tie them to the Gop or Tea party.
