The unemployment rate was 7.8% when Obama took office and today's report on the unemployment rate is 7.9%, I just heard on CNBC so after four years of Obama, unemployment is higher than when he took office.
We have 6 trillion more debt so our debt is up too.
This reminded me to ask after Mick, his tilting at windmills, and how it's all going for him. I noticed that one Barack H Obama appears to be on the ballot in all 57 states.
It is said that the alphabet soup media are now taking up the Benghazi story, though I did not hear it on CBS and NBC last night.
Even if they do, will not people just wonder why they are fussing about a two month old story? And anyway, the media seem to be focusing on what did, or did not, happen in Benghazi rather than on the 7 weeks of contradictory lying since.
Romney's on track to win and absent a DUI-type revelation, the next four days will only get worse for Obama what with Benghazi and the Sandy social-breakdown that is starting.
I hope it's enough because we really can't afford much more of Barry. Any more really.
Economy...still stalled to borderline depression levels Economy destroying Obama care rammed through with no Republican support, and a road map of political dirty tricks Gas prices reaching record highs New "kinetic military actions" all over the Middle East Benghazi Social Security raided OWS police car poopers Gulf oil spill Hundreds of executive orders subverting Congress No budget for 3 years
and the last 72 hours will determine the election?
Relief crews from utilities and government agencies around the country are now pouring into New Jersey, but they are being told to get lost if they're not union members.
It's a pity this had to happen in a solid blue state, instead of a swing state where the voters could really teach the greedy union swine a painful lesson, but I think this kind of insane dog-in-the-manger labor union thuggery is going to hurt the Democratic Party brand everywhere.
"Relief crews from utilities and government agencies around the country are now pouring into New Jersey, but they are being told to get lost if they're not union members."
If true I imagine Christie may just have something to say about this and it won't be good for those unions.
In other news, that nut Bloomberg is going ahead with the NY Marathon and the NY Runners Club is saying they don't have to loan three mega-generators (which they say can power hundreds of houses) because they are private property.
Relief crews from utilities and government agencies around the country are now pouring into New Jersey, but they are being told to get lost if they're not union members.
I suspect unless the DNC finds a vid clip of Mr Romney drinking a cup of coffee or a coke, Mr Obama is toast--I note also that the people in Staten Island that Mr Obama assured us would not be left behind are now resorting to dumpster diving for food. Heck of a job, Barry
Benghazi is in the MSM because Obama (through unnamed sources) put another cover story out (to the DailyBeast) directing the problem back at State. I am sure Bill and Hillary are happy today. New story - CIA acted, Obama ordered preparation for multiple contingencies, State never said pretty please so nothing was done. Of course Obama can deny the story after the election - ah, the beauty of unnamed sources. For the uninitiated - the State Department cannot, does not oder military action. But Obama would no that as it isn't one of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.
Hey, remember how yesterday people were excited to get Bloomberg's endorsement for Obama? I, for one, would be trying to run as far away from Bloomberg as possible were I Obama. He's letting people die so elites can run a marathon.
I'm willing to look like a fool so here's my prediction: Romney will win by a comfortable margin, electorally. He will take Ohio, NH, and Colorado. The pollsters are deliberately overcounting Democratic voters. They want to make this more of a race than it is. Otherwise there would be no story, and it would stir up even more animosity of blacks towards white than there already exists.
This race is all about race, something that clueless libertarians such as Althouse don't see.
"Yet far from being the voice of fiscal prudence, Mr Romney wants to start with huge tax cuts (which will disproportionately favour the wealthy), while dramatically increasing defence spending. Together those measures would add $7 trillion to the ten-year deficit."
Machine: If those are the only two things Romney suggested, you may be right. It is a shame he is also suggesting cutting wasteful spending and that reality is not scored statically.
There are quite a few pollsters who will look quite silly when the ballots are counted--as well as the national news media. But, as always, time will tell.
"We beg to differ. For all his businesslike intentions, Mr Romney has an economic plan that works only if you don’t believe most of what he says. That is not a convincing pitch for a chief executive."
Machine--based on Mr Obama's demonstrated performance with respect to the deficit, why do you believe him? Demonstrated performance, IMO, is always a better metric than rhetoric.
The Economist is of the opinion that Obama, by having higher unemployment than Bush, lower median income than Bush, and all-around worse economy, somehow saved the economy.
In short, their thoughts are not very clear, reasoned or logical.
The liberal media have started to report on the "unprecedented" dimensions of the Romney ground game that'll take over in the final hours of the campaign.
The HuffPo, in a pretty fair article, on Project ORCA: Mitt Romney Campaign Plans Massive, State-Of-The-Art Poll Monitoring Effort.
I'll be in the national command center on election day. It should be an interesting day to say the least.
Machine--based on Mr Obama's demonstrated performance with respect to the deficit, why do you believe him? Demonstrated performance, IMO, is always a better metric than rhetoric.
That's what I was going to say, Roger. Do you want to vote for the guy who, according to his enemies, (but disputed by the candidate) MIGHT increase the deficit, or the guy who has PROVEN he will increase the deficit and debt more than any other president in history?
guys like freder and garage don't care about deficits or unemployment. Obama permanently grew the government and raised taxes. that's why they love him.
"Together those measures would add $7 trillion to the ten-year deficit."
So what you're saying is that he'd be an improvement over Barack Obama, who's added $5 trillion in 4 years. I'll take $7 trillion in 10 years over $5 trillion in four years any day. (Of course, that's stipulating that your numbers are accurate, which, odds are, they aren't, because you have no incentive to represent Mitt Romney's plan fairly. Obama's numbers, on the other hand, are already written down in the history books.)
Unemployment is going back up, unless big change happens we will follow Europe into recession and have 4 more dismal economic years. The same unemployment numbers also show unemployment for government union workers is down to 4.2% while black unemployment jumped a point to 14.3%. I will cut black unemployment in half in 2 years.
It is a matter of priorities. Why is it Obama's most loyal voting block has fared the worst under him?
New evidence has come out about Benghazi that shows Obama and his people have been deceiving us since the beginning. Al Qaeda was involved, first big terrorist attack since 2001 on Americans, happened. A Romney Administration will not abandon Americans here or abroad in the event of a terrorist attack.
Obama closing:
You just can't trust Mitt Romney. He wants to send all your jobs to China. For blacks, he wants to put you all back in chains. For all the wonderful caring nurturing women - he wants to control your lady parts! How can I be anti-Israel when I get more Jewish votes, and jewish media people's love than that guy Romney. I just got started! Ain't no turning back now! Forward! To the Future of a New America!
Mr Romney wants to start with huge tax cuts (which will disproportionately favour the wealthy)
Hard to see how they could do otherwise, since the wealthy are disproportionately bearing the tax burden to begin with.
while dramatically increasing defence spending
I hear Romney's going to eliminate Obama's budget-conscious policy of leaving Americans to die at the hands of thugs. That will probably cost money only in the short term, until thugs realize that the American military is once again under the command of a President who reflexively takes America's side in an armed conflict.

Four days left to avoid four more years.

Do I detect a sly irony in this post? Or am I giving Althouse too much credit?

I'm tired of Bronco Bamma.

God, liberals are fools.

Can you provide a link to back up this claim?

Althouse: If you could write your 'How Obama Lost Me' post in the next 24 hours, the race could come down to your influence!
But if you're going the way of Colin Powell not so much.
Especially since you quoted the statement without attribution.
Althouse: But if you could at least reveal your voting preference in the next few hours, that could win a wager or seven.
"I'm tired of Bronco Bamma."
I feel Abbey's pain.
A top, key, well-placed, influential blogger told me weeks ago she thought the race would be decided while she was walking to her polling place.
"Can you provide a link to back up this claim?"
Google it, it's all over the place.
Does anyone doubt they would? We're talking unions here.

Technically, the race is decided only when the majority of voters vote, so that's technically correct.
Very prescient, I guess, but how many incorrect prophecies has that paid aide made?
Agree with Freder--some sort of link might be helpful to evaluate the claim
For those who can't Google, here's a link to the union turning away non-union workers story.
http://www.waff.com/story/19981857/some-nonunion-ala-crews-turned-away-from-sandy-recovery
Non-union crews turned away, not that I think Freder will care.
"Agree with Freder--some sort of link might be helpful to evaluate the claim"
I read the same thing on Betsy's page, she provides a link.

For those providing a link, thanks.

Kaus knows Ali Karim Bey? Wow, small world.
In stunning breaking news, I predict...
The election will be decided after the polls close and the ballots are counted!
Stay tuned!

Romney's thank you, linked by the HuffPo article.
"Even the Economist..." LOL, if can't trust a middlebrow British newsmagazine, who can you trust?
"That’s still 24 hours away! A long time."
Even longer when you don't have power.

Small point: the budget deficit has actually decreased since Obama took office.
"somehow saved the economy."
Well, look at gas prices. They're high! That means the economy is going great!
Benghazi is being featured in more condemnations of Zero these days.
A weekend on the talking heads will seal it.

Yes from a one-year anomaly standpoint, but not from an administration average.
*And that's still only true if you count the 2009 budget that began under Bush but added to substantially under Obama as a Bush administration deficit
