Egyptians taunt Hillary Clinton by chanting "Monica, Monica."

And throwing tomatoes, shoes, and a water bottle at her motorcade.

UPDATE: After many days of black-and-white only, Drudge brings back color with a photo of Hillary for this story. Oddly, the effect would be much better — more dramatic and more flattering — in B&W:

Why didn't the GOP think of this?

Great attack, you Brotherhood guys.

Egyptians are smart people. Too bad the Muslim religion usually makes them into losers.

Reminds me of Nixon in Venezuela in 1958. It's a good lesson for our Secretary of State and her boss, although when folks are that slow it's hard to hope that they will learn anything.

It's about time somebody said it:

Considering Monica can't even live in her own country - because of the outrageously ugly smear job the Clintons did on her - this not only seems right but a fine example of what should've happened, here, instead of propping her up her political career in the name of feminism.

Way to go, Egypt - make her feel it!!!

No "Iron my shirt"? They have much to learn, these Egyptians.

Both sides in America, for different reasons, honestly thought that they could bring Freedom! to the noble freedom lovers.
Before this Democrat iteration of "Democratic revolutions" we had Reagan arming the Islamoids that later became Al Qaeda and the Taliban to overthrow what was a fairly enlightened Soviet puppet regime with a lot more support, a lot more projects, a lot more women rights than with Bush's "special friend" Karzai and his narco-henchmen.
Clinton bombed to save the Noble Bosnians and we have ziltch to show for it.
Followed of course by Bush and his trillion dollar "neocon nation building program" and knowing how grateful the noble Iraqis and noble Afghans are...is still surprised they (outside the Kurds) are killing any unarmed American they can draw a bead on or get a bomb close to...or acting like a moron thinking someone throwing shoes at them 'was funny!".
Hillary is just the latest target of a culture that could give the French lessons in treachery and backstabbing.

That is so rich. Monica. Right out of "Breathless."

She deserves everything she hears. She is a woman with no self respect.

Sad to say, Hillary has never gotten anything through her own abilities.

Something of a death knell for crony feminism.

She didnt bring a reset button with her?

"Considering Monica can't even live in her own country..."

As of Feb of this year..."According to a profile in New York magazine, the now 38-year-old Lewinsky enjoys living the high life in New York; going out to parties and dates. She has her own business designing purses, The Real Monica Inc." Sounds like she is doing just fine in her own country.

Thankfully she kept the dress, and the attacks on her fell apart at that point.

Crack, you found a good satellite connection, right? Why don't you send in a moment by moment update, from where you're hiding on the sidelines all superior-like.

You do know that Hillary was the injured party in that shamelessness, right? M chose to play with a married man, and now she can keep on keepin' on.

Did y'all torture small animals when you were young, too? Just the female ones?

Hillary was an enabler. She knew about for the former Commander-in-Heat's proclivities. Hillary made a calculation. She rode Bill's stains to a Senate position (ha) and currently Sec'y of State.

If the shoe fits......

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-!!!!!!! Get a clue. Hillary knew about Bill looong before they even left Arkansas and - except to Bill - never said a word about the women he fondled, raped, and used. Sure, in pretty much every case of adultery, I've sided with the "injured party" - the betrayed spouse - but Hillary's "feminist" credentials are so bogus, and her reaction to MonicaGate was so wrong, in every way, I lost all compassion for her, almost from the moment the story broke.

Claiming a 20-something seduced the President of the United States (which you seem to have bought) that Monica was delusional, that it was a Right-wing conspiracy, calling psychics to the White House, using that moment of national shame as a springboard for her Saul Alinsky-inspired political ambitions (like we owed her for marrying a slimy scumbag) and so on.

Hillary Clinton is as fine a representative for what's wrong with this country as could ever be chosen or created.

Fuck her. Fuck her until the day she dies.

Bill, nor any other man, will - so it's up to you.

Wait - before the plastic surgery, Chelsea looked remarkably like that slug, Webster Hubble, so I take that last jab back.

SOMEBODY was that desperate,...

Not really. Think about it. She's not feeling much pain. We have millions of unemployed, underemployed, over-taxed, underpaid people here in the U.S. feeling lots more pain than Hillary. Do you think she really gives a shit about us. Hell, no.

Humperdink said...

Getting joy out of another's pain is sick.

Hillary, charter member of the feminist hall of fame, was willing to trade pain and shame for a ride to the top. Nearly made it to, if not for O Blame O arriving on the scene.

Well no sympathy for Monica from me. She supported the Clinton's and was willing to take one for the team.

Besides, I don't her actions were anymore honorable than Horndog Bills.

My first thought was that people ought to realize how *global* our politics are.

When Bin Laden made a speech that mirrored several points in Fahrenheit 911, the left acted like he was merely recognizing truths *independently*... despite the reference to My Pet Goat.

So I thought maybe this would illustrate a bit that what goes on domestically is viewed internationally, and not just by supposed Western cosmopolitan types, but by all the quaint brown people as well.

My second thought was that it was incredibly rude and she certainly doesn't deserve it.

Maybe later I'll get around to wondering why the Egyptians don't love America now that Obama is president.

Egyptians throw shoes. People enjoy watching other people get what they see as a comeuppance.
I think it's disgraceful because it happened to America's Secretary of State and earlier to our President. But, it is interesting to compare the responses.

wyosis,

"I didn't do it, it's Hillary's fault, it's Obama's fault, it's the Egyptians' fault." Sounds like a 5 year old.

Astonishing how "pain" get's turned into a measly "comeuppance," and unholy glee gets turned into "it's her fault, no it's his fault."

ricpic said...

Hillary is of no consequence. What is of consequence is America's standing in the world.

The Left goes looking for love around the world and meets contempt. What is best for America? Ah, but America is one big shameful mistake that has to be apologized for. Grovel to the world. Which is met with the inevitable response: contempt from the world.

The way out? Be strong, be respected, be FEARED. But for that to happen power must be wrested from the Left. Then, and only then, will America stand tall again.

rcocean said...

"What is of consequence is America's standing in the world."

Wrong. Its completely irrelevant how the rest of the world - especially Egypt views our "standing". America isn't some teenage girl who has to fret about whether others "respect her". The minute we nominated a joke like Hillary! to be Secretary of State, we opened ourselves to this.

@ Leslyn...The Egyptians are mad about 60 years of American Hollywood hegemony portraying a screen drama in which Gary Coopers and John Waynes were superior to themselves.

Most ethnic today Egyptians were and are smarter and tougher than we are from their having had to survive as a 20% Christian minority in a Muslim land by Arab conquest for over 1500 years, and before that by The Greeks under Alexander, and Rome under Julious Ceasar and his adopted son, and followed by Napoleon and then his successor. the British Empire.

Their 1400+ year culture and religious artifacts from a Pharoanic Osirius worshipping culture has benn taken all over the world today in museums that are astounded at their skills in medicine and art developed long before anyone else, but maybe the Chinese.

They are just jealous of us. But they actually fear the Jews in Israel.

Believe me Hillary Clinton has NO importance to them at all except for a good joke.

What of Bush's pain Leslyn? Do you have something to say about that? The unevenness of the response is the issue.
Everyone agrees there is disrespect and pain. The issue is why do some get a pass to take pleasure in it and others not? It comes down to hypocrisy which each side calls on the other. I'm not choosing sides necessarily. I just think it's interesting to observe the dissonance.
In reality we should all be outraged by the disrespect to representatives of our country.

It must be that being mean, ugly, vicious and cruel to other people makes the conservative happy. --leslyn

I suppose trying to make other people feel pain is OK, so long as you are leslyn.

Please, Leslyn, do tell us the righteousness that allows you to disdain other people, and to the extent they value your thoughts, to try to hurt them. Or perhaps your MO is that no one gives a crap about your self righteous bitchiness.

wyo sis,

What of Bush's pain Leslyn? Do you have something to say about that?

Yes, if you mean the throwing of things. (Everyone has hard times in office.) Disrespectful and wrong. Mrs Clinton suffered that and the taunting about her husband's scandal. I wouldn't be as concerned about people here cheering for rotten tomatoes. I thing "Monica!" had a different degree of magnitude and am appalled that people here cheer that. Some things hurt; some things hurt you in your heart.

The unevenness of the response is the issue. Everyone agrees there is disrespect and pain.

No, I don't think they do. Disrespect yes, pain no. Or they don't care. It makes them happy, which was my point, that there's something wrong about that, and it shouldn't be rationalized away

The issue is why do some get a pass to take pleasure in it and others not? It comes down to hypocrisy which each side calls on the other.

I think each side has. I sure it happened for Bush in this forum. It happens for Romney. Just look at the posts for today, for example.

I'm not choosing sides necessarily. I just think it's interesting to observe the dissonance.

What dissonance? The post was about Clinton, not about Clinton and somebody else.

In reality we should all be outraged by the disrespect to representatives of our country.

Here is what I think. The Hypocrisy of the left is unfathomable.

Thousands of Volvo bumper stickers "I believe you Anita," for what? "I think there is a pube it the coke," and not ONE "I believe you Juanita" bumper sticker. For what? "He raped me."

Even Christopher Hitchens was onto this one. He felt Clinton's cruise missile bombing of a sudan pharmaceutical plant was a simple calculation to get Monica off the front page. Heh. It only cost thousands or hundreds of thousands of Sudanese lives from the black death.

Tibore said...

WTF people? I don't like either Clinton all that much either, but the substantive point about the story is that delusionals in Egypt are ripping on a symbol of the US because our Secretary of State is choosing to meet with Islamicists at the expense of meeting with the Copt sects. What the hell is the matter with the policy that such an error was even allowed to develop? All it would have taken was a simple damn meeting with that group - a group that would've otherwise had a thin thread of commonality with the US regarding the threat of radical Islamicism - and this particular issue would never have been a reason for such protests.

That's the real story here. People who had experienced nothing about the Clinton presidency delivering Hillary insults is a sideshow at best. The real question is why the diplomatic mission is effed up. Who gives a damn about what happened to her years ago? That's not our problem. What matters is the administration having a crap foreign policy. That's the present. I don't give a damn about what she's getting vs. what she deserves, all I care about is why the diplomatic team is tone deaf. That's the important thing here. Schadenfreude's irrelevant in the face of a substantive problem.

Meanwhile, Egyptian television runs video of an Islamic man beheading a Christian.

I wish we were making John Wayne movies with Islamic bad guys. Why the fuck not? Are there no Islamic bad guys?

They cut a guy's head off and ran the video on Egyptian TV!

And what do we do in response? Send billions of dollars in economic aid!
