LOL. Meade is in the top pic, with the bike. I did a screen grab from the hawk cam when he was there. He sent me the photo of the hawk on the railing. He "got a close up." He wasn't in it.
The poor bird didn't slip or fall. It was caught in the gravitational pull of that small moon... "That's not a moon!" "I got a bad feeling about this!" (too lazy to look up real Star Wars quotes)
Ha ha. That big guy was there when I rode up on my bike. I suggested to him that he might want to keep his distance because the bird was young and trying to learn how to fly.
The guy seemed like he was - what's the correct term for it nowadays - mentally delayed? So I pointed out the nest to him and he walked away from the bird to look up at the nest. I could sympathize with him wanting to get close to the hawk. I had the same urge and I made the same mistake last year when we saw a hawk in the Arb.
But then I was a little mentally delayed myself back then. I smartened up some after that when fellow commenters took me under their wings and clued me in to the need for leaving wildlife alone.
Baby bunny was on the breakfast menu this morning. It took a while to open the package but things went quickly once the little hawk reached the chewy center.

"Meade was there."
For a moment I thought Meade had been overdoing the bratwurst.
That must be the one that had been perched on the blue house roof for a day or so. It slipped off the edge of the nest yesterday.
I was going to say...
Looks a little stout for Meade.
Hope you both had some time to bask in the glow of last night's victory.
Dang Meade, no wonder you are doing lowcarb.
What is with the runty one? Will he survive? I don't see him eat at all.
Yeah, Meade has put on weight in the last week.
Only one?
Recount!
I always imagined Meade was more svelt.
The babies have flown the coop?

The wages of pancakes is girth!
You could have cropped the second pic no? (for the sake of the unknown man)..
Accidentally clicked on the Prof's blogger profile. Saw the erstwhile blog effort "Time that Blog" forgot. That was a cool idea.
Hard to keep up when so much is going on I suppose.
If that were Meade, he'd definitely need Allies pancake recipe.
OMG, how much do I love the Estonian president blasting Krugman on twitter?
Hot Air post on it here.

What are you feedin' that boy, Althouse?
Meade will never be invited to dinner with Anna Wintour looking like that!
Don't be fat, I mean, late.

The missing hawks?
Someones been going to too many cele-brat-ions.
The hawk is all like "I'm on ur railz, protectin' muh chicks. Back off tubby."
A buddy of mine is trying to raise funds for his debut album. He's really talented, I think. Did the music for my short film.
You can see his Kickstarter page here. Contribute a bit and you pre-order their album.
Kickstarter is a neat website where artists can raise funds when their starting out their careers. Lots of interesting stuff out there.
That hawk will never get the fat guy off the ground. It'll have to eat him there.
Hold on!
Anna Wintour isn't even a U.S. citizen. She's a Brit!
....and the Obama campaign has her calling for contributions??
Mick call your office!!
Needs a Men in Shorts tag.
