I was there:
And Meade took some of the pictures, like this one of the big crowd:
See the Hans Christian Heg statue in the back?
"Walker fixed it/Let's not Falk it up/Wisconsin Can't Barrett" (references to the upcoming recall primary and election):
"Why do I have to work 'till I die so you can retire at 55?"
A year ago, Breitbart was here.
The other side of the "He's got nads!" shirt refers to Scott Walker, but it could just as well have referred to Andrew Breitbart, who was here today in spirit:

Green Shirt's Walker message, I believe, is He's Got Nads, slightly more to the point.
Have you heard this vitriol aimed at Kleefisch? There aren't words. @LegInsurrection just tweeted it. And the Ds stay silent.
It's the "sisterhood" that's faux. http://youtu.be/bp-DFsUvYn0
Ann what sort of processing you're using on these photos? They look like a LucisArt or a faux-HDR filter was applied to most of them.
I'm pretty sure the t-shirt says "he got 'nads" as in "gonads."
I can just make out the other side of the green t-shirt in the last photo "Scott Walker, Hero!"
Looks like the weather was gorgeous.
And warm.
And the people were fired up, too.
Go get 'em, Badgers.
These do not look like cheerful people. Maybe they were, but to me they look stern. I would feel comfortable amongst them but feel no inclination to invite them over.
But I have a question that maybe I should ask my hygenist hyginist hygeinist teeth cleaning lady, she's quite smart about these things.
That lady in the third picture holding the most rude sign, you can see this better on the largest size version, her front teeth have black outlines. What's up with that? I noticed it sometimes usually on older ladies like Joan Collins when you see them close up.
Are those caps? Are her real teeth pegs for the caps that will not come off and that's why the edges are black?
Because if they come out then I keep wondering why they don't sprinkle Comet on them and scrub them up, rinse them off real good and put them back in.
My Nana's teeth came out and it freaked me out so bad for a whole decade I thought she had magic teeth. I kept trying to discover the secret that unlatched my own teeth. That was the best trick ever.
"Find the Professor" is more fun than "Find Waldo".
She's in three shots, lurking under the Maxine Waters photo in two of them.
I need a better hobby.
Seems to me on a gorgeous day you might have spent your time in more restful environment rather than watching some silly political rally--
but whatever floats your boat.
Like the secret door in the movies. They go up to the fireplace and yank on a torch holding thing and a door swings open. A secret latch like that would unlatch my teeth. So I giggled them one by one to get them to unlatch and I kept doing that trying to find the secret combination.
Had someone just explained it to me it would have saved a lot of fruitless trouble.
Perhaps jiggled.
Chip, I like the giggled version. It makes a great visual.
A lot smaller rally this year, but man, what a beautiful day. Maybe 600 Tea Partiers, 50 Ron Paul fans, 100 counter protesters, and a smattering of End Times evangelicals.
Everyone wanted to pet the dog so I talked to a few people this time. Seemed nice. One guy wanted to tell me all about Agenda 21, whatever that is. [some UN/One World Order conspiracy?] But I was right underneath a PA with Vicki McKenna screeching in my ears, so I told the dude I had to go.
Was the other Republican candidate there?
Puppies are babe magnets.
Is it my imagination or perhaps my biases, but the pro-union people seem fatter, on average, than these Tea Party folks.
Garage. You were talking to a fellow traveler, dude. Agenda 21 is a UN deal approved in the 90s and embraced by the progs. No conspiracy.
I consider myself a prog, and I've never heard of Agenda 21. What do I need to know about Agenda 21?
Conservatives should have ancient wisdom posters
Haste Makes Waste
A Stitch in Time Saves Nine
A Diamond Is a Girl's Best Friend
Out of Sight Out of Mind
I consider myself a prog, and I've never heard of Agenda 21. What do I need to know about Agenda 21?
Sustainable development. Just like when the progs use renewable, sustainable is a key word that we are going to be in trouble. It sounds nice, sustainable, renewable...but it isn't.
"
In a nutshell, the plan calls for governments to take control of all land use and not leave any of the decision making in the hands of private property owners. It is assumed that people are not good stewards of their land and the government will do a better job if they are in control. Individual rights in general are to give way to the needs of communities as determined by the governing body. Moreover, people should be rounded up off the land and packed into human settlements, or islands of human habitation, close to employment centers and transportation. Another program, called the Wildlands Project spells out how most of the land is to be set aside for non-humans."
Basically it is an assault on rural and even suburban communities. Assault on property rights.
They want us all to live in cargo containers stacked on top of each other so that we can more easily be kept under control.
"Human habitation, as it is referred to now, is restricted to lands within the Urban Growth Boundaries of the city. Only certain building designs are permitted. Rural property is more and more restricted in what uses can be on it. Although counties say that they support agricultural uses, eating locally produced food, farmer's markets, etc, in fact there are so many regulations restricting water and land use (there are scenic corridors, inland rural corridors, baylands corridors, area plans, specific plans, redevelopment plans, huge fees, fines) that farmers are losing their lands altogether. County roads are not being paved. The push is for people to get off of the land, become more dependent, come into the cities. To get out of the suburbs and into the cities. Out of their private homes and into condos. Out of their private cars and onto their bikes."
Social engineering and socialism on a massive level.
LOL one of the verification words Citypo. Exactly!!
rhhardin--let's not forget the one the libs always seem to..."You can't get something for nothing" and it's complimentary saying, "Nothing is free--somebody, somewhere has to pay for it."
Sorry about the "nads" mixup. Even as I try to write it in this comment, Blogger wants to correct it to "ands"!
Fixed in the original now.
What kind of dog Garage? I saw an old, thick, brown lab who was very relaxed and sweet and getting a lot of attention. Was that yours?
Also, Meade rocks a red ball cap. Hat Boy could have learned something today.

No, but we seen that old timer. He played together with my brown lab pup. Not really a pup any longer though. He was driving me crazy today. But like what rh said, they sure are chick magnets.
I have a 15 year old dog who once drove me crazy too, with ridiculously high energy and a constant need to snoop. Don't know how much longer he'll hang around. I'm sorry I missed you and your guy. I love hyperactive young dogs, especially when they're not mine.
Unfortunate headline from yesterday's Huffington post.
Jobs Americans Won't Do
BTW, the event ended well past my lunch hour, and I thought as I walked to my car it would have been nice to meet some Althouse hangers on for a bite.
Maybe next time.
Thank you Dust Bunny Queen for the break down of Agenda 21. For you progs in Madistan: it is a return to serfdom, where the king owned all the land and let you eek out your existence while he got fat and rich. Agenda 21 is a menace to America, and George HW Bush signed us up for it.
"...would fundamentally alter the relation of the citizen to the federal government.” - Kennedy 2012.
Likewise, the people of Wisconsin are tired of being enlaved to the Public Sector Unions. Government employees work for the taxpayer. Not the other way around.
@Beta Rube
I should have told you I'd be strolling through with the dog in yesterday's thread. What part of the state are you in?
garage mahal: I consider myself a prog, and I've never heard of Agenda 21. What do I need to know about Agenda 21?
That you are for it, silly. Because the ultra extreme rightwing evil monstrous conservatives are against it.
Thats all you've ever needed before.

"My uncle has a country place
That no one knows about.
He says it used to be a farm,
Before the Motor Law.
And on Sundays I elude the Eyes,
And hop the Turbine Freight
To far outside the Wire,
Where my white-haired uncle waits.
Jump to the ground
As the Turbo slows to cross the Borderline.
Run like the wind,
As excitement shivers up and down my spine.
Down in his barn,
My uncle preserved for me an old machine,
For fifty-odd years.
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.
I strip away the old debris
That hides a shining car.
A brilliant red Barchetta
From a better, vanished time.
I fire up the willing engine,
Responding with a roar.
Tires spitting gravel,
I commit my weekly crime... "
Red Barchetta, RUSH.
So there I was as an adult fairly thoroughly convinced the teeth thing will never work but I tried anyway because by then I was committed and reluctant to abandon hope no matter how hopeless so there I was wiggling them and they felt loose. Too loose. So loose that it freaked me out and I called my dentist even though they were closed and left a message saying I have this emergency and I'm freaked out because my teeth are wiggly.
They accommodated my emergency and I showed up the next day. They checked me out. They poked and wiggled around in there and carefully examined what I described.
They said, you cannot accurately feel your teeth wiggle with your own fingers, it fakes you out. Your teeth are in there tight, stop wiggling them you idiot.
I am in the Milwaukee area. Other than the left lane morons who seem to inhabit this fine State by the thousands, Madison is an easy and quite enjoyable drive. Today I showed up an hour early and enjoyed walking around the Capitol as much as the festivities themselves.
It's still fun and even a little shocking to see the boisterous lefties in the flesh. They remind me of the 60's, when I was a youngster.
Does this count as a Cafe?
Lem, the hostess presented a photograph of a woman with puzzling teeth.
I want a "Breibart Is Here" sweatshirt.
He really makes the libtards pissy. Payback for the Che merchandise.
I was asking for me.. not as a criticism of you.. though maybe I should take your comment as a cue.
Now that you mention about the teeth.. A few years back.. maybe a decade back, my favorite toothbrush Reach (firm) disappeared from the shelves.
Talk about panic.. for years I has to use lesser brushes.
Until one day it occur to me to google it and there it was.. available via Amazon.
A happy ending.
Will "puzzling teeth" require a new tag?
@Beta
Did you run into any road construction? I'm headed to Mitchell Tues morning.
The only construction on 94 is in the city, between 72nd and 26th streets, Eastbound side. But you'll be peeling off at 894 and shouldn't have a problem.
The Mitchell off ramp is open, but the on ramp is probably still closed. Just go North on Howell to Layton, and turn west. Pick up 94 just after the light at 13th.
If you are familiar with Milwaukee and the freeway system I am being tedious and not helpful. Sorry.
Did anyone poop on a cop car?
@Beta
Thanks, that helps. I have a bad habit of arriving at airports just in time.
Where did all of the Madison fatties go? This crowd looks like they know appetite control. Maybe they come from outside of Madison with its temptation of fine restaurants?

Ya think it being tax day might have anything to do with it?
Did the purple chalk finally get cleaned off the granite plinth of Heg's statue? Speaking from a conservator's point of view, I appreciated Meade's attempt to scrub off the graffiti but wondered if he might have actually scrubbed the chalk deeper into the stone inadvertently.
