Colbert is walking a fine line of mockery of a well loved and admired free people political process. He and his twin( you know so I won't give him name credit) would like to call this agendizing "satire" and "comedy". But, their intent is political activism and that is becoming more transparent with their desperation to "matter" when they really don't. I sense that the smack down of John King and the media that was Newtownian in size and intensity...followed by the audience and today social media reactions...does not bode well for these imposters of the talk shows. Their 15 minutes just might be up.
I don't know that I'd always agree with his court decisions, but that was one sharp response.
To be fair, we don't actually know how much time Justice Stevens had to respond. These interviews are routinely heavily edited, and very often scripted to boot.

"Other than this interview?"
Priceless! Seriously. I don't know that I'd always agree with his court decisions, but that was one sharp response.

Great punch line though, all the same.
I'm not sure to what degree Stevens "got" what was happening.
That last line was clearly a setup, but I thought Stevens seemed pretty sharp throughout.
