Who dumped the Cain sexual harassment story on Politico?

Everyone's speculating. Was it an "oppo dump"?

The story doesn't seem to have much substance. No names. No dates.

Clinton's women had more veracity.

The Demos are as afraid of Herman as they are of Sarah Palin, and for the same reason.

A thrall has made his/her own success without the help of government or affirmative action. That can't be allowed to stand.

Ah, new thread so I'll just throw out the possibility that Mr. Cain leaked it himself. It's such a nonscandal it's hard to imagine it actually hurting him, plus it removes any damage from political opponents leaking at the wrong time. It also makes him look sympathetic and persecuted.

You mean the story with no facts? The kind of sort of we may have a story but we cannot or will not get specific with it because, uh, er, ah, cough cough, we don't have to.

IF that is the case, and the scandal dies out with no where to go and no legs, I would throw my full support behind him as he would have displayed more intelligence and savvy than anyone that wants the job or has held the job for the last, oh, 30 years or so.

Given Cain's performance on this issue, I'm beginning to think it came from someone in the business world who believes he's too incompetent to be anywhere near the GOP nomination. That last debate made me question how much of CEO Cain could have been. He seems disorganized and not willing to put in much effort.

traditionalguy said...

From the timing alone, it must be either the Romney 2012 campaign or the Jeb Bush 2016 campaign.

The Obama boys would have held it back as their October Surprise trump card.

But the 6 weeks beginning in January are the make or break for Romney. They would have waited another month if Cain was not running away from the Romney in the latest polls.

Cain can recover unless Fox News and the MSM outlets keep news of Cain's successes pushed off the off the air by running out the clock with an intense, baited breath interest in an O J Simpson like mystery investigation.

Every minute the media talks about black men's sexuality is another minute Cain's economic plans are being snowed under.

machine said...

Makes him look "sympathetic and persecuted"? It makes him look incompetent...he had two weeks to get rid of this non-story and he totally screwed it up with ever-shifting explanations that contradict statements made earlier in the same day!

So, the association paid off two women because Cain talked about how tall they are? Really?!

Politico contacted the Cain campaign two weeks ago seeking a response to the leaked information. If it were really nothing, the campaign could have cleared it up and a story may not of even been written. However, they didn't respond. This led to more digging and voila, a front page story.

Now, I don't think the claims are the story...it's the incompetent response. Changing the story, the contradictions, etc...

Could it be possible that this is just an example of journalists doing their job? Nah.....Will the next wave of investigation investigate the investigative journalists? If it turns out that, say, Perry planted the story, will they investigate who leaked Perry's planting...Will investigative journalists reveal the true identity of the women involved?....Have any of these women had a one night stand with an NBA player?....There are many questions that have not been answered. I'm just hoping that somewhere in this mix there is a porn star. A sex scandal without a porn star is like an egg without salt.

Karl Rove.

http://www.mediaite.com/online/herman-cain-accuses-karl-rove-of-deliberate-attempt-to-damage-him/

“‘It’s a good thing the voters are not looking at Karl Rove’s little whiteboard,’ Cain said in a phone conversation from a stop in Chicago Monday afternoon. ‘I believe it is a deliberate attempt to damage me because I am not, quote unquote, the establishment choice. But why not go with the choice that the people seem to like?’
Cain accused Rove of bias in favor of candidates with big organizations, lots of money, and prior experience in political office — all things Cain doesn’t have. ‘What has Karl Rove done?’ Cain continued. ‘If I become the nominee, he has given Democrats talking points for a commercial to attack me. It makes no sense unless it’s a deliberate attempt on his part to try to push me down so that the candidate he wants rises to the top.’”

And it's funny how the window-licking leftards get themselves all worked up into a lather about Cain, even right here on althouse. They're absolutely scared to death of him. Very reminiscent of Palin. And, more distantly, of Reagan. That all by itself is a tell that Cain is the one.

Jim said...

Shanna,

When I first heard about it, I considered the possibility that the Cain campaign did this themselves to get it out there. But the initial inept response by his handlers and by Cain himself tells me it was someone else.

I really don't understand the victim mentality on this. Cain himself says that he was accused and a settlement was paid. That's the crux of the story and it's turned out to be factual. For Cain to say that, as the head of the National Restaurant Association, he wasn't aware of any five-figure settlement being paid to two different people is laughable and ridiculous. He's made this worse by doing stuff like that.

I wouldn't hold the story against Cain. It's old, it didn't come up in previous campaigns, and he doesn't exhibit a pattern of lecherous behavior that we know of.

I do hold Cain's response against him. Their story changed, they instantly went into victim mode and even played the race card, which Herman has done three times now (all of which the lamestream media has ignored).

Cain is a good man but he's not running a good campaign. That much will be clear when money and a good ground organization (neither of which he has) become critical to winning actual contests.

I wouldn't put it past the GOP. Cain, Perry, Gingrich, & Paul are too Southern. Right now the South is in a hell of a lot better shape politically and financially than the Northeast. The power seat may shift, so they've got to do something to get Magic Underwear Boy the nomination.

wv - bumpoke - Heh!

Christopher in MA said...

"They're absolutely scared to death of him."

I don't know so much scared as angry, SE. Cain (and Thomas and Sowell and West, &c.) are not what the left sees as real blacks. They aren't constantly harping on America's long-washed away "original sin," they don't fulminate about what a horrible, mean country this is (pace GODDAMN AMERIKKA! Wright and Michelle Antionette), and they show absolutely no thanks for the bounties of affirmative action (remember the whine about Thomas that now he was successful, he wanted to pull the ladder up behind him). Cain is a living rebuke to the left; the canary in the coal mine, as it were.

Now, I know the usual gang of idiots will post here to say "scared? Nonsense! We're praying you nominate this stumblebum, because our God King will beat him with three lobes of his brain tied behind his back!" But I find that to be disingenuous. As has been pointed out time and time again, you don't waste effort on a nonentity. You certainly don't find the GOP trying to whack Slow Joe.

The organized talking points are erupting already over the Hermacain's ordeal.

As an attorney we have a case to argue:
1)When the facts are on our side, then we argue the facts...That no harassment took place, only 12 year old false charges.
2) when the facts are not on our side, then we argue the procedures...that the other side broke court rules in timely responsiveness to discovery demands so their case deserves to be sanctioned by dismissal.

What's really interesting about this whole thing are the dogs that aren't barking, namely the MSM and, specifically, The Washington Post. The National Restaurant Association is part of their K Street beat, and you better believe if there was dirt on Cain while he was head of NRA, they'd have been all over that shit. The Post would never pass up something like this if there were even the slightest chance that they could act as a spoiler to Cain.

That the Politico "scooped" The Post on its beat is a laughable idea at best.

Having said all that, I believe Cain's people shopped it to Politico just to get this out now while it has time to burn itself out. Cain predicted he would be subject to a "high tech lynching" in the style of Clarence Thomas, and it has come to pass.

Risky and ballsy move on Cain's part.

I read it as a demerit against Cain, but I can't help but think that there are other closets and other skeletons that are being ignored.

I'm still trying to figure out what the issue is. The facts so far are that Cain was accused and there was a (tiny) settlement. A settlement that seems to indicate there was no substance to the accusation.

Seriously, if this is the best Cain's opposition can come up with (with anonymous sources, no less), then Cain is probably in good shape. There needs to be some details. I suspect someone knows them, and they weren't released with the rest of the story because they were exculpatory.

Herman Cain strategist Mark Block said on Tuesday that the campaign has retained outside counsel to examine reports that a charity illegally donated to the campaign.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Monday that a tax-exempt charity founded by Block donated more than $40,000 worth of goods to the Cain campaign, which could be illegal.
“We have outside indie counsel to look at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story and report back to us,” said Block, appearing at National Journal’s Election Preview event.
He declined to say more, chastising the panel’s moderators when they pressed for further answers.

Except Romneys organization sees Cain as destroying Perrys money and organization..Cain is good for Romney, eating up Perrys donors and Southern Fundie voters every day, more and more.

The longer Cain stays in the race - with all his flaws - the better for Romney.

Of course the other "social values, religious right" candidates could be suspects, if they had the staff and resources..which apart from Gingrich and all his inside K Street contacts (inc the Restaurant Association) ..they don't have.

My suspects, in descending order:

1. Rick Perry's people.
2. A white lawyer with the Democrat Party, who does not want the black vote straying off the plantation.
3. Newt.

1) Charges of sexual harassment were made and published against a leading Presidential contender.

3) Regardless of whether or not all, or only some of, the harassment charges have merit, Cain has now transformed his image into a sideshow dissembler who keeps changing his story and will not come clean. His credibility is vanishing.

A) No-one is calling for anything like impeachment (or legal) proceedings against Cain over the harassment. Republicans tied up our government to press an impeachment case over a blow job.

B) Bill Clinton also faced similar stories during the campaign. he handled it far better.

C) Thanks to the salacious Starr Report, we know that Monica Lewinsky was not exactly pressed into providing sexual favors by a superior. The quote "wanna see my thong?" kind of gave that away. (In my experience that's always a sign of willingness).

D) It is the Republican Party who is constantly telling us that they are out moral superiors. And they constantly have these little sexual scandalettes.

I don't give a rat's ass who Cain does the nasty with. It's the lying that gets him into trouble and tells me he will lie about a whole lot more. (Same as with Clinton's childish "it wasn't sex because it was a BJ" denials. Dems criticized Clinton, ask Gore).

Uh, Cain has already admitted to the settlement after denying anything. At this point all you have is his side of the story and a woman who had to sign a gag order as part of the settlement.

During the campaign he sat there with his wife and made admissions. That was smarter, though keeping his fly zipped would have been smarter yet.

My black friends are mostly confused by Herman. Being libs, except for being black they don't really know how to see him, and they're happy to have someone around (me) who can at least give them a clue. Lots of questions - not really about him but conservatism and policy. (They all know Godfather's Pizza and liked it.) We got into it over Herman's Planned Parenthood stance (not our first on the abortion issue).

While I can't say they like Cain (yet) it's certainly not my sense they'll vote for Obama over him, at all, because they clearly see getting rid of Obama as one cure to their current situations. One of my friends is in the auto industry and he can't wait, though he's sad to be abandoning the country's FBP. My take:

Ken Starr was not appointed Independent Counsel to deal with the accusation from Paula Jones, who was used or in league with the Scaife effort mentioned above.

How did sex issues surface in an investigation of a real estate transaction? Because Kenneth Starr was on a witch hunt, determined to drag down the President.

The Crack Emcee

I think blacks will eventually find Cain to be a welcome replacement.

I think a good many folks will see Herman Cain the way they saw Alan Keyes. Perhaps not as far right wing, nonsensical and cuckoo but as a right wing attempt at countering the Obama phenomena. In other words, they would see cynicism much as many voters did with Palin being placed on the ticket to get the disenfranchised Hillary voters.

But I am pretty sure Cain won't beat Romney so it's sort of a moot point.

Shit, they voted for him because he's black and they aren't shy to say it. My favorite was a woman bragging in a cafe' that she was finally going to be able to vote for "a pretty president." I can count the number of blacks who wanted to talk Obama's policies on one hand.

I also do not understand why Crack's friends or anybody else need for him or anybody to explain things to them.

You claim my reading comprehension is lacking and yet you have no problem getting what I said incorrect. I suppose you believe that they took a measured look at the candidates and didn't vote based on that "identification" in far greater numbers than not.

I'm sorry, Love, but the 9-to-1 margin Obama got from black voters against Hillary seems to prove you wrong.

sorepaw, now you are changing the subject! I proved you wrong but you lack the integrity to admit the point.

The Starr inquisition was an ever-expanding effort to get something, anything on Bill Clinton. After spending nearly $100 million all Starr had was a garden variety denial from a married man of having "sexual relations."

A woman friend of mine at the time said when she was in Catholic High School, many of the girls used the very same defense, stating that a blow job is not actually "sexual relations." He wasn't the first.

It's as meaningless and absurd as a political scandal can be, with no impact on real peoples' lives. The right wing tried to hang Clinton over Whitewater, Vince Foster's suicide, drug running from Columbia, firing Republicans from the White House travel office and a long list of bullshit and nonsense charges.

They had tens of millions of dollars and an ever-expanding scope of investigation and wound up with a big fat goose egg: zero, nothing, nada, squat, jack. (All the while al Qaeda was making plans).

Like I say, you guys are the experts in horseshit.

No, ed, Matt is being a truthful Democrat. I know it is rare, but truthful Democrats do exist. Right now, only Romney has a shot against Obama. I know that in your circles Obama is so hated that you find it as impossible to believe anyone would vote for him as Pauline Kael's infamous declaration that everyone she knew on Manhattan and in the Jewish suburbs of NYC hated Nixon and she was amazed anyone voted for him....but the reality is that you run a far right conservative..they will lose. That the country is disgruntled with Obama does not mean they have fallen in love with conservative true believers and the wealthy Jobs Creators (TM).

The only one who should be scared of Cain are his like-minded far rightists in the race and various media conservative pundits that see Cain as good for their money-making punditry business.
The problem of other candidates is Romney has no reason to attack Cain, as Cain is helping destroy Perry and the Texas money machine..

And Santorum and Bachmann are now reduced to ankle-biters with everyone wondering when they drop out. Ron Paul doesn't care about his rivals, he is off in his own universe.
Newt of course would be helped by Cain having his credibility damaged and I think he is cunning enough to work behind the scene to drag Cain down fast.
Perry appears too stupid to realize that he is not the frontrunner anymore and Romney is riding the Cain wave to help kill him off, while Perry focuses on Romney...not the guy stealing his voters and donors.

Dems are not scared of Cain, Bachmann, Santorum...all would be dream candidates to run Obama against.
Probably Newt too with his baggage, or the unelectable Ron Paul (He may be half-crazy but he is also half really right!!), or Perry if he continues to leave the impression he is a dumber Dubya from Texas.

The conservative media pundits will push the rightwingers as long as they can get money from pushing their pet candidate. They have already given up on Santorum and Bachmann. They hate "RINO" Newt more than Romney as a group, are disturbed by Perry, but will push the non-Romneys as long and as hard as their listener and reader numbers can support it.

The longer Cain stays in the race - with all his flaws - the better for Romney.

A month ago I'd have agreed. But that ship has sailed. Cain is by many accounts now the front runner, ahead of both Romney and Perry, and the latter seems to be fading fast into the rear view. Romney may now see Cain as an existential threat, especially since Cain is strongest where Romney is weakest: among tea parties and true conservatives.

Me, I'm not yet convinced Romney can win anywhere besides the Northeast and Michigan.

Michael said...

The Pauline Kael quote doesn't work both ways as you think it should. The difference is that most conservatives are assaulted by leftist culture from the day they are old enough to listen to the radio or watch tv and thus are better equipped to know and debate with other points of view. These outlets only reinforce the beliefs of leftists. Difference with a distinction.

Peter Hoh said...

If the Romney campaign knew about this story, they would have continued to sit on it. Cain is doing the Romney campaign a lot of good right now. They wouldn't want to see him mired in scandal -- not yet, anyway.

Perry's campaign would benefit from this story, and the timing makes sense for his campaign, as well. However, there are plenty of establishment Republicans who don't want to see Cain get the nomination, and for any of them who happened to know about this story, the fact that Cain was polling well would be enough to motivate them to leak the story.

While I like the conspiracy theory that Cain's campaign leaked this story to get it out of the way, Cain's response hasn't been scripted well enough for me to accept that this was planned by his campaign.

Here's Cain today, explaining why he first claimed that he didn't know about any settlement:

Cain responded that the word 'settlement' made him think legal settlement, which was what he based his first statements on.

"Later as I thought about it and thought about it I did recall an agreement with the lady that left who made the false accusations." Cain added, "So that's when I said, yes there was an agreement.

"When I was initially hit with this when I woke up yesterday morning trying to stay focused on my day I didn't recall it right away, so yes there was an agreement that I later added to my explanation."

Pretty soon, he's going to be telling us that it all depends what the definition of "is" is.

A settlement is a decision to accept money in lieu of sueing. If she wanted to sue, that was her chance. Clearly, she decided she was better off extorting a company/organization than she would be in open court. That is what I mean. All this talk of a ‘gag’ order…if so it’s something she accepted because she thought that was her best bet. Nobody can make you sign a paper if you don’t want to. She signed it to get money.

On Clinton, I seem to recall a whole lotta sleazy denials and sliming of various women. I’m from Arkansas and whenever people asked me about those rumor I always told them they were true. Not sure who believed me until it all hit the fan. As for Whitewater, Jim Guy is now a felon (even if he didn’t have to go jail because of his liver (?) problems. Yes it's unlikely that Cain could get a nearly even split of the black vote with Obama, but 80%-20% would be enough to get him elected. I'm a pessimist, and I think he'll actually pull more like 70%-30%. Most importantly, the blacks that vote for Cain will never go back to the Democrat plantation, to be exploited and taken for granted by condescending white elites. To borrow a New Age word (sorry Crack), they will be empowered by their vote. That's how it feels when you vote for the rights of individuals over the collective. It is a fair charge, though it was actually 4 years Republicans had the Presidency and Congress (2002-2006). In that timespan, the REpublicans really blew it - not just with social conservatives but also with any awareness that they had a teetering nation that desperately needed some corrections before the economy and financial situation blew up.

It was all about more tax cuts for the Jobs Creators, Tom Delay and K street gorging themselves on the public trough while Bush monomanically focused on a few hundred "Evildoers" and the needs of the noble Iraqis.

Part of the Republican task is to admit they blew it under Dubya, convince voters that they will do better than Dubya, Frist, and DeLay did.

Contrary to hard conservative dogma - the country does NOT nod in agreement with the Bush faced poster asking "Miss Me Yet?".

Another reason the GOP is doomed to defeat...for whatever reason they continue to disavow climate change:

WASHINGTON -- For a world already weary of weather catastrophes, the latest warning from top climate scientists paints a grim future: More floods, more heat waves, more droughts and greater costs to deal with them.

A draft summary of an international scientific report obtained by The Associated Press says the extremes caused by global warming could eventually grow so severe that some locations become "increasingly marginal as places to live."

The report from the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change marks a change in climate science, from focusing on subtle shifts in average temperatures to concentrating on the harder-to-analyze freak events that grab headlines, hurt economies and kill people.

"The extremes are a really noticeable aspect of climate change," said Jerry Meehl, senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. "I think people realize that the extremes are where we are going to see a lot of the impacts of climate change."

Ron Paul says he doesn't know, but people should be free to obtain and use energy up until the point where it is demonstrated that doing so would harm others and that the alarmists hadn't made their case that measures to gut the US economy would be needed or make any difference.

I'll play:

1) Reporters dug it up all on their own. It's not impossible, but Politico isn't know for having the sort of resources required to do that sort of thorough investigative reporting. Possible, but not likely: 10% chance.

2) Team Obama. They've got the resources. Certainly, they're digging for dirt on all of the front runners. Timing is suspicious, however. Why fire your guns in the primaries? Better to hold out until the field is much more narrowed. On the other hand, the timing conveniently throws suspicion off of them. Perhaps they're trying to sow dissention in the Republican ranks. Probability: 20%.

3) One of the lower tier candidates: Newt, Bachmann, Paul, Santorum. Highly doubtful. This sort of oppo research takes big bucks. None of these guys have it. Newt in particular seems highly implausible given his, err, past. Probability: 5%.

4) Cain himself. I don't think anyone who has seen Cain's initial immediately contradicted explanation buys this for a minute. Human nature says no way. Probability: 0.01%

5) Romney. Romney has the resources to do the opposition research. Romney has a motive for taking Cain down a peg. On the other hand, Cain is poorly resourced and Romney has seen Perry as his main, long term threat. Cain has been highly useful in keeping Perry marginalized, and the two (Cain and Romney) have studiously avoided attacking each other in the debates. It doesn't feel right. Probability: 30%

6) Perry. Like Romney, Perry has a massive war chest and likely has a good amount of dirt on all of his opponents. Cain said Perry is the only one he wouldn't serve with following the painted rock controversy. While Perry floundered in the debates, his support mainly went to Cain (see Florida straw poll). For Perry to win he must take down both Romney and Cain. He's going full frontal on Romney, so a stealth attack on Cain is a logical strategy. This sort of sliming of a fellow Republican is a sign of desperation. Who has shown more recent desperation than Perry? Probability: 65%.

7) Independent Actor (e.g. Rove). I don't see a good case for it, but given this covers a whole lot of potential motivations, you can't rule it out. Probability: 10%.

8) Someone disgruntled from Cain's past. Capable people make enemies. Probability: 10%.

I realize my figures don't add up to 100%. Just my (independent) gut on the chances for each case.

All those things that weakened AGW climate change claims when stupid reporters reported them... summers are hot, winters are cold, the wind blows... are really the proof of it. They catch people's attention because they're extreme. Extreme things that catch people's attention, also are good ways to get grant money, so we're going to study them. Yay!

And really, Love. The world is warming or it isn't. What rational people would prefer is that people stop using extreme weather "that hurt economies and kill people" to enact radical economic policies that hurt economies and kill people.

Because the Earth might *not* since it doesn't care and doesn't do anything on purpose with malice, but people do when they try to restrict energy production and industrial development in third-world nations. It's CUTE when poor brown people live in harmony with nature and planet Earth after all, without electricity or the medicine that depends on electricity and without enough to eat because someone freaked them all out over GM foods, and we've got our infrastructure in place and plenty to eat so what the fuck do we care? Apparently, some conservatives want to take the unrealistic view that Cain is capable of winning. Democrats are not phased by him at all, and they shouldn't be. His "9-9-9" plan, which apparently has already been changed, is a failure out of the box. It kills the middle and lower classes. You really think blacks are going to jump for that? No.

I've said it once, and I'll say it a million times. The only candidate who has a shot of beating Obama, is Romney. The GOP needs to find a worthwhile candidate, because as of right now, we're in for another long, long 4 years.

For The Crack man:

By Sandhya Somashekhar and James V. Grimaldi, Tuesday, November 1, 3:51 PM

A woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment in the 1990s is ready for her story to come out, her lawyer said Tuesday, even as the Republican presidential hopeful spent a second day trying to quell the mounting controversy and explain his conflicting recollections of the matter.

Joel P. Bennett, the attorney for one of two women who made the claims against Cain, said Tuesday that his client is barred from publicly relating her side because of a nondisclosure agreement she signed upon leaving the National Restaurant Association, where Cain served as president from 1996 through 1999.

Bennett is calling on the association to waive the agreement so the woman, a federal worker living in suburban Maryland, can rebut Cain’s statements this week that the allegations were false and baseless.

“It is just frustrating that Herman Cain is going around bad-mouthing the two complainants, and my client is blocked by a confidentiality agreement,” Bennett said in an interview. “The National Restaurant Association ought to release them and allow them to respond.”

Actually, Bill, what looks bad is liberals like yourself and your friends Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore screaming about global warming as you drive yourself to your twelve-thousand-square-foot energy sucking mansion in your SUV after flying a few thousand miles in your government 757.

Seems if you actually believed the "science" you're pushing, you'd be making some behavioral changes of your own. You're not.

Nice try, liar boy. Perhaps you can explain why your Pelosi says non-unionized factories should be shut down by the government. We know your Romneybot agrees with that, doesn't he?

Wit Small-Minded - A woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment in the 1990s is ready for her story to come out, her lawyer said Tuesday, even as the Republican presidential hopeful spent a second day trying to quell the mounting controversy and explain his conflicting recollections of the matter.

I think the spin from perjury-supporter Love is downright hilarious.

Whore should have thought of that before she broke the agreement herself for her Barack Obama's promise of a promotion.

Whore signed an agreement not to say anything. Whore lied. Whore is now screaming and crying as whore is called out publicly because the minute she reveals her identity, she acknowledges that she broke the agreement and has to pay up.

Yup, I embarrass the hell out of liar liberals like yourself who don't think past your talking points.

What's the matter, boy? Don't like having the hypocrisy of your Pelosi rubbed in your face? Don't like being reminded of how your Clinton lied under oath and how you screamed that sexually harassing women was perfectly OK when he did it?

Come on, Love. Why not man up and say that Clinton was right to lie under oath and that Obama Party members can sexually harass whomever they want? After all, your party worships murdering drunk Ted Kennedy.

Nope, sorry. That's just saved for people like the whore who's attacking Cain.

Meanwhile, let's remember that you support and endorse calling women whores when your precious Bill Clinton was in trouble and even today. Heck, Barack Obama supporters like you even endorse rape.

Since you support rape, Allie, who cares what you think? Like a good racist, you even threaten to use your "black brothers" to carry out gang rapes.

@ Jim

"For Cain to say that, as the head of the National Restaurant Association, he wasn't aware of any five-figure settlement being paid to two different people is laughable and ridiculous."

Frankly it's stuff like this that aggravates me. If you're going to criticize then at least get the facts right. Otherwise all you're doing is showing that regarding your opinion or logic as anything but useless drivel is a mistake.

1. 2 separate women with 2 separate allegations.

2. Cain stated he knew that 1 of the 2 women had been given a 5 figure settlement, which amounts to a couple months pay as a severence.

3. Cain state that he did not know that the other woman got a settlement at all.

Try to keep up.

I love it when rape supporters like Love try to accuse other people of being "woman hating".

I would think calling for rape like the Obama Party does would be the ultimate in woman-hating. But then again, Love and Allie are so perverted and twisted that they defend and support rape of their political opponents as being a GOOD thing.

Yup, and lots more than you do.

Nope. In this case, it's coward for running away since it can't provide facts or sources and has had its Obama-supplied talking points thrown back in its face.

Rapists are invariably cowards. Just like you, Love.

And Barack Obama had no idea that his orders to give guns to the Mexican drug cartels or to hand over half a billion dollars to his cronies at Solyndra in time for his photo ops were being carried out either.

Would you like to state that Barack Obama was ignorant and stupid, Love? Or would you like to continue to demonstrate how hypocritical rape-supporting fools like you can shoot yourself in the foot over and over again?

Look at the subsequent careers of Monica Lewinsky and Anita Hill. Monica, to the extent that she has not been marginalized, has become a synonymn for an obscene act. She has not cashed in on her fame; rather she has been cashiered by her infamy. Compare her sad fate with that of Anita HIll. Anita Hill has tenure and the love and respect of all enlightened women for her brave struggle.....Here is the useful, indeed lucrative, lesson to be learned from these examples: There is no down side to accusing a black Republican of sexual harassment. There is no upside to being sexually exploited by a powerful Democrat.....The woman in the Cain case who asks permission to go public has absorbed this useful lesson. She will soon become a Noble Personage. She will make far more from this event than the dinky five figures already banked....If you analyze who has the most to gain from the squeeze of this sleaze, it is obviously her. Who's to say she did not tell her lawyer to contact Politico? I say this story came not from oppo research but from her.

Cedarford and Love,

They (republicans) had eight years to prove otherwise and instead left America holding the bag.

Considering how often leftists call themselves stuff like "Love" as they spew hatred and lies, I'm stuck trying to decide if Democrats are merely ironic or Orwellian in their proclamations. Look:

Bush Proposed Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac Supervision In 2003

John McCain's Fannie And Freddie Letter of 2006

Then, of course, there was the Democratic Party's response.

And let's not forget Orson Scott Card's amazing round-up of the whole debacle as Obama assumed the reins of government.

I really do wonder, not only how much Orwell you guys have internalized, but how you sleep at night, knowing you can lie so easily,...as Greenwald said, you owe us all a huge apology for all the bullshit you spew in the name of "Love."
