"We used to sneak under the fence on the north side of the stadium."

"There was a loose board there that every kid in Green Bay knew."

That's one way to build a fan base — tolerate the kids sneaking in. That quote is from a woman who proudly announces her seat number — "Section 133, Row 49, Seat 5" — and the fact that she's seen every game — save 2 — since 1957.

The best thing they can do is to sue her for the market value of the games they lost through her perfidy. That's how the music industry handles kids who steal their songs.

Except that she's likely now a stockholder. The shares of the team are held by the citizens as a non-profit.

My fav line by a Saints Fan: "I was expecting the worst," Taranto said. "But Packers fans are the greatest fans."

as long as you aren't a Bears or a Vikings Fan that is...

What Sarge said. Keeping people interested in the team is in the city's interest, so they're not going to shoo away kids who want to slip in.

Ever seen those video's going down mainstreet GB on game day?

You can almost see the sage brush tumbling down the street in some Western Ghost Town.

damn straight, though I will say that I have long time friends who are both Bears or Vikings fans. It's all in good fun.

My hometown had a Red Sox AA team and we would sneak under the fence. We saw Lynn, Rice, etc. The excitement of sneaking in was almost as good as the game.

We would also sneak into drive-in movies. However, not in the trunk..they checked trunks. It was simple as hell. Two people would pay and 3-4 would just walk in thru the woods. We would meet @ the concession stand and all get into the car. Never got caught. So..5-6 would split the admission for 2.

I use to sneak on the fairway at the Tyraneena Golf Course in Lake Mills, WI..back in the late 50-'s early 60's, at about 9 yrs old. I had a 3 iron that my neighbor had in his garage with a collection of odd clubs. Rode my bike to the back of the course and waited and walked on.

Played the entire game with that 3 iron..drove, chipped, putted. Thought no one ever knew. When I was 13 my dad came home with an awesome set of Patty Bergs he got at the course clubhouse, used for $40 bucks. He said the owner of the clubs, called him and told him to come get them for that price and tell me, to come and play anytime...no more sneaking on. I couldn't get over that he'd known I was there all the time...when you're a kid, you think you're the only one ever thought of it!

I've tried to remember that and pay attention and create an opportunity for others where I can and without ruining their own attempts to make something happen for themselves.

I think I'd like to live in Green Bay. Even with those crazy winters.

Isn't it a lot easier when the team and its assets are owned by the city itself? I thought Green Bay owned the Packers, unlike other cities whose teams are owned by people like that Cleveland-to-Baltimore wanker and the old hag baseball teamowner from Cincinnati?
