Sarah Palin to speak at the tea party rally at the Capitol today.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports in a tiny article the bulk of which promotes the counter-protest:
The scene at the Wisconsin state Capitol could be a wild one on Saturday....

Liberal leaders still smarting from the bruising fight over Republican Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law are mobilizing a counter-rally. They're urging people to show up with puppets to underscore accusations Walker and Palin do corporations' bidding. They also want people to bring cowbells and sleigh bells.
I get the feeling the WSJ is hoping the locals here in Madison will drown out the speaker with noisemakers.

Meade and I will be there to monitor the possibly wild scene. It's cold, gray, and rainy here in Madison, and I felt bad that it would rain on Sarah, then I remembered Sarah Palin camping in the rain on her TV show. Sarah is good in the rain.

It's words of platitude and cliche wisdom vs noisemakers.

I'm not sure which way to bet.

Giant puppets and cowbells. These people put the "Wacko" in Madison wacko.

Automatic_Wing বলেছেন...

They're urging people to show up with puppets...

This should be most excellent.

The bad part is the turnout will be down due to the weather. I opted to stay home because of the weather and a cold; knowing Ann and Meade will be documenting. I'm bummed, as I wanted to get out the good camera equipment this time. The left will claim victory, as they did with the protest numbers prior. They need to claim victory. Desperately. The fact that Sarah Palin would dare venture on to their turf! The left understands exactly what that means. And it terrifies them.

The weather sucks for the market turnout as well. Hopefully those greedy capitalists have better weather to follow.

Wouldn't it be funny if Palin chanted the Tea Party guys into a storming and occupation of the Capitol Building... just to see the Madison PD's reaction.

Talk about a stale metaphor that is likely to make some actual rank-and-file union members start to wonder why they, puppet-like, are doing the bidding of union bosses who will compromise every issue except mandatory dues.

"I'm bummed, as I wanted to get out the good camera equipment this time."

I was thinking of getting out there with a tripod at my 300mm lens. Closeups of Sarah and whatever else I could zoom in on from a mostly fixed point. But the weather is making the decision for me. I'm going to move around and infiltrate. There will be plenty of pictures of Sarah and text of what she — and John Fund!!!! — said in the mainstream press. I'm going to continue to invent and pursue new media techniques. I want to document what's bad, funny, weird, and interesting. I'll be looking for the false flag stuff especially. Many of the Madison characters recognized me and Meade, so that creates new opportunities.

নামহীন বলেছেন...

I did a double take upon reading "WSJ"... wait a sec... con-fus-ing!

Here folks is Sarah Palin! How exciting!

Thank goodness for Donald Trump, whose surging popularity is exposing how many people have turned to Sarah out of sheer desperation, out of not having any better choice.

No American with any good sense could support a Bible-thumper like Hackabee or Bachmann as a candidate, nor a picture-perfect product-of-the-Establishment like Romney. So they went with Sarah.

Now there's Trump. And in every respect he's better. Just better.

I eagerly await hearing what Palin has to say. Let's see if she offers something that will trump Trump. I doubt she will. She's a has-been already.

Palin is just a reality TV star. Trump, however, is a bona-fide presidential contender.

Honestly, I don't see Governor Palin running for high office. At least not for several years. But the left seems to have this intense fear and hatred of her. They almost panic when they hear here name, and have this need to attack the Governor.

Palin is the only candidate I know with the sense to say:

Drill, baby, drill!

So, I give her great credit.

At least on that issue, she's the only candidate talking sense.

The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau has released its report on Gov. Walker's proposed budget:

The property tax bill on the typical Wisconsin home would rise by less than 1% annually over the next two years under Gov. Scott Walker's proposed budget, the Legislature's nonpartisan budget office reported Friday.

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau also said Walker's plan would put the state's finances in the best shape they've been in for more than 15 years.

It found the so-called structural deficit - the imbalance between spending and tax revenue as laid out in state law - for the 2013-'15 budget would be $31 million. That assumes Walker's budget passes the Legislature without new spending increases or tax cuts that would add to the deficit.

None of the devilish details are available in the Journal-Sentinel report, but so far, apparently, so good. Congratulations to the governor for a battle well fought and a job well done.

I'm off to the Sacramento Tea Party rally, but I'm afraid we won't have anything nearly as exciting as Sarah Palin and giant puppets. More cow bell!

Wasn't he left with a $3 billion structural deficit? (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

An eye on the long term rather than patches is what's needed. You can patch only so long, and it feels to me that we've run out of patches. We have to establish balance.

By TODD RICHMOND, Associated Press Todd Richmond, Associated Press – 35 mins ago
MADISON, Wis. – Hundreds of pro-union labor supporters are surrounding smaller groups of tea party members waiting for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to appear outside the Wisconsin Capitol.

Palin is slated to speak at the tea party's annual tax day rally.

But labor supporters still smarting from the passage of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's polarizing bill eliminating most public employees' collective bargaining rights are drowning out Palin's supporters, shouting, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Scott Walker's got to go."

Walker is a Republican, and Palin is a former Republican vice presidential candidate.

People on the edges of the rally are arguing with each other over the size of government and corporate power.

Palin is expected to take the stage after noon.

Frankly, I would not waste my time listening to Ms Palin; an insult to your intelligence if your IQ is above 75..

On the other hand, if you're truly interested in something to sink your intellectual teeth into stop in and listen to Craig Biddle who will be speaking this coming Thursday, April 21 at 7:00pm in Granger Hall ( Morgridge Auditorium). His lecture is entitled Altruism vs. America. It promises to be fantastic, highly recommended.

Info here..

One wonders what the union thugs will do if they discover he will be speaking...

When your message is something as confusing as "Government is just like the greedy mining companies in those old union songs, and we should be sending it a lot more money", naturally you're going to take every opportunity to get out there and try to explain it to people.
