Hungover owls.

I feel better already. (Via Eve Tushnet.)

Makes me want to take a gruel nosh vow.

Owls are among my favorite birds. I can therefore excuse their occasional booze fests, just because they are awesome.

I think the first guy is flirting.

One naturalist who had a run-in with a territorial Artic Owl described the owl's impact with his head as "like getting hit with a 2x4 with nails in it".

They may look funny, but they're hard-core carnivores.

Owls are badass. Even more so than honey badgers.

The golden owl with triangles all over his chest looks like an old school math teacher.

How gruel a nosh are you thinking of?

I'm in Washington DC for a conference. Washington is a beautiful city that is unfortunately filled with what seems to be every high school student council president, vice president, secretary and treasurer ever elected in America.

I really hate it here.

Those may be the faces of the 50 Japanese nuclear workers studying the Fukushima reactor cores up close. As we speak a 190,000 lb Putzmeister concrete pump with an 170 foot remote controlled boom is heading to Atlanta Airport to board a Russian Antonov 225, the world's largest cargo plane, for a trip to Japan. These are interesting times.

"Putzmeister" ??

Really? No disrespect intended but...really?

This really isn't relevant to anything, but one of my law school buddies tipped me off to this--looks like Meade really is a celebrity!

Seems like a ripoff of the Kim Jung-Il one, but apparently this website was all the rage at the law school today...

Chickilet...I verified that it is a German made Putzmeister pump. I wonder what that translates to in German. Anyway, don't buy any used Putzmeisters next year without doing a radiation reading to see if its decontaminated. The Oak Ridge Plant in Tennessee and the Savannah River Plant in South Carolina bring in these monsters to pump streams concrete into hot places where men fear to tread.

[to] pump streams of concrete into hot places where men fear to tread.>

You mean like here for example?

Now I feel like a putzmeister. Your topic was dead serious and I can do is amuse myself.

That's when you know it's time to get your head examined.

Chiclelit...LOL. If we don't laugh, we would have to cry. It was a beautiful day today with that yellow stuff called sun light reappearing for the first time in 6 days.
