Apparently, David Nelson is a name on the no-fly list, so anyone by that name always get hassled while flying. I have two friends by that name who confirm this. Maybe if the DN in question is the person sullying the name, though I can imagine why, my friends will enjoy more friendly skies in the future.
Another link to America before the Cultural Revolution (we might as well have had a Chinese version) bites the dust. At least we still have Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow.
David played the good-natured, preppy straight man to Ricky’s good-natured witty rockabilly kid. There was this dual generation thing too, where Harriet played it straight and Ozzie cracked the jokes. Because they were a real family, you would think they really behaved like this around each other. The show was most fun when the kids were adolescents but it stayed on the air way past its prime. This was probably due to the parents generation still watching and wondering why their own families weren’t so darn nice like the Nelsons.
David was at USC with me and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. Their house was just down the street from the Fiji house that I was a member of. One time he fixed his brother up with a date and later, when I talked to the girl, she said David was nice but Ricky was really weird. College life was much simpler in 1957.

Oh my God, when I thought you meant Willie my heart sank. Whew!
The last of the Nelsons, David Nelson... has died.
Not to worry! Once Obama enters the room where his body lies in state, then -- Lo! -- Young Master Nelson's eyes SHALL OPEN AGAIN!!!
We've still got Matt and Gunnar.
For some of us...the Nelson's will NEVER be "gone".
We learned way too many lessons at their knees.

Penny? Want to try that one again?

Ozzie was one heckuva dad who raised me and Ricky, and David, too.

That would make you a half-Nelson, then, wouldn't it...?

I saw that earlier in the day. Didn't see a cause until this article.
He was the quiet one and proved a perfect foil for the at first just younger, and then more flamboyant Ricky.

No offense to Coke, but that's a big part of what's wrong with us. Nothing is a simple, straightforward statement any more.

I can hear "Lonesome Town" playing softly in the background of your blog.

RIP, David.
I loved Ozzie and Harriet when I wash a kid. Their kids defined cool for me. Of course, my sister loved Ricky.
I saw Ricky perform at the Santa Clara County fair in the early 80s, not long before his death. Now his generation is gone.
jimspice, David was on list becuase
of all that flying he did in that circus movie
