My double life as a blogger.

I'm blogging over at Instapundit this week — with a big cast of co-guest-bloggers. I'm semi-responsible for keeping up a Reynoldsian flow. I'm not that good at semi-responsibility. Group projects.... If the flow were entirely up to me, maybe I could "be" Instapundit for a week... if I didn't also need to be Althouse.

It's pretty all-consuming just being Althouse. And by Althouse, I mean on-blog Althouse. To be on-blog Althouse and off-blog Althouse takes all my time. But this week, I deflect some of that time to being one-seventh of Instapundit. One-seventh, in that I am one of seven guest-bloggers, but it's more than one-seventh of the work, because I'm always fretting about the maintenance of the Reynoldsian flow. There's a certain look and feel to that place that I want to see as a reader, so I want to preserve it when it's up to me.

And I'm still smarting from what Richard Brookhiser said 2 years ago.

Don't forget to announce all the deals on flash drives, DVR's, large screen TV's, etc. We want more than politics we want smokin' deals!

In looking at the list of seven bloggers, I'm getting a sense that Glenn Reynolds is like Voltron, now split up into his separate parts.

When trouble strikes, you all will combine your separate interests and personalities to once again become the mighty Instapundit, dazzlingly prolific and dedicated to the Amazon Prime Directive.

Ann, are you the Anya of the Insta-Scoobies?

I think the flow is flowing well.

Just keep it short and pithy, and you'll be fine.

Is Reynoldsian flow like Brownian motion?

Flow, baby, flow!

Pithy. You're not saying that with a lisp, are you?

I could ask The Blonde if she would loan you her whip.

Funny, Radley Balko is saying how hard it is to be Glenn this week.

Really, you guys are sharing the load and just reposting links you have at your own blogs. A little more work but not exactly ditch digging.

See if you can take some pictures of women serving beer at a BBQ. That should pretty much take care of it.

Before I read this post I had noticed that on Instapundit your posts were more like Mr. Reynold's.

It would be interesting to see what would happen here if Reynolds were to sub for Althouse for a week.

Could he be Althousian?

It has to be a Mid-western thing. The bland leading the bland.

I used to read Instapundit every day but not anymore. If he was going to take some time off it might have been interesting to see what someone with an entirely different sensibility. I would love to see what Amba or Jason(the commenter) or blake or Michael H would have done with a platform like that.

Or even better Ritmo or the Crack Emcee or the Lonewacko guy.

But that would be much too spicy.

I guess that is why they sell so much mayonnaise

If you want to see something similar to Instapundit with a different flair, try Fark.com

Maybe you can kill two birds with one stone... every time you post here, post a link there with "indeed!" or "heh!" as appropriate.

It was actually three years ago, and he is as wrong now as he was then. You do a darned fine job being Althouse, and Glenn Reynolds couldn't find a better stand-in.

Thanks for all the content, and keep up the great work.

I had seen that Ann was blogging for Glenn. I have to admit that when I saw the link entitled "Men's pants on sale", I thought to myself: that's Ann being anti-men's-shorts again.
