"I was literally transformed back to that little snot nosed kid who you met and inspired 31 years earlier..."

"... and it was such a fucking honor and a dream come true to share a stage with you and the rest of the legends in Heaven and Hell."

I can't believe Ozzy outlived him.

I once got in a car accident while listening to Dio.

Really doesn't have anything to do with this (other than being about Dio), but I felt the need to share.

Dude it's Ronnie James Dio. He clutched yesterday after a battle with stomach cancer.

Personally, I was never that into the genre and the prodigious line of heavy metal screamers that Ronnie James Dio inspired, truly across generations.

But he was always a gentlemen and a down-to-earth rock and roll road warrior with a sense of balance. He was able to appreciate the "fan boy" adulation he did receive, way past the point of being gracious, while content just outside the mega-star limelight that many other artists either crave or envy in others.

Very often, you’ll see artists in that predicament distance themselves from their committed fans simply as a way to elevate themselves, of compensating for not having received a greater level of recognition, fame or fortune that they feel they deserve.

That was never Ronnie James Dio.

Tenacious D's DIO tribute. (Bumped)

He was literally transformed! Quick, get the cameras!

I have it on good authority that people who misuse the word literally will literally burn in hell.
