You and Meade need to make some lawn art.

For the children of Madison.

He's sooo talented.

It needs some other colors - where are the berries?

That looks deliscious. We add Greek Yogurt for extra flavor.

Appalling news story about a teacher using a hypothetical case of assassinating the President to teach the youth.

If the partisan roles here were reversed this would be covered wall-to-wall on the cable news outlets.

The teacher should be fired for teaching the killing of the President. Instead he got a "talking to."

Exhibit 8,972 in "conservative values."

Phil 314 said...

You mean he cut up some fruit

MadisonMan said...

Alpha Liberal, you need to learn how to cut and paste.

AL;
I wanted to review your link but it didn't work.

chuck b. said...

Did he squirt a little lemon juice on it? I always find that punches it up.

btw -- now that yet another Republican Congressman has decided not to seek re-election, this breaks the tie. 20 Republican Congressman are now bowing out vs. 19 Democratic. In case anyone is counting.

If the President "will not tolerate any more fingerpointing," what is he planning to do about it?
Implode and self-destruct?

I, like Meade, am a good househusband these days. Give her a hug, Meade, for being appreciative.

I'd be even more impressed if he grew the fruit himself.

Huh. Didn't know that, edutcher. Not that it's any easier than copy-and-paste.

Fred4Pres said...

Did Meade make that up or follow one of the salads from that article you clipped from the NYTs last year?

When I first heard this today my initial response was:

Um..ew.

My current response is still.

Ew.

Jose Andres says meat is boring.

The future is vegetables and fruits.

I tried to explain the issue in the Connecticutt Senate candidate's use of a purported Marine service in Viet Nam in the late 1960s. It is hard to express, but the gist of his violation is double dipping. We knew then that only about 5% of the politically connected guys got multible deferments no one else ever heard of, and finally got into safe units of National Guard or Reserves that were full and had a 15 year waiting list ( see, George W Bush) Politics is politics. The dirty trick is for one of those fair haired children of priviledged to now brag about their heroic service. The only thing they ever did heroic was to suck up to enough powerful friends of Daddy while they actually laughed at us fools caught in the Draft system. That is Democrat politics in a nutshell today; there is nothing new under the sun.

We live to swerve.

Sorry for the bad link. Here is the real link for the story on an Alabama teacher using the assasination of the President as a lesson.

It's okay. He had a stern talking to from the Alabama bozo's running the school.

AlphaLiberal said...

In other news, Glenn Beck continues to fleece his follower. Followers gladly oblige.

He obviously has not been to Tuscany. Where vegetables, fruits and meat are never ever described as boring.

Fred4Pres said...

Okay, I know that Jose probably has been to Tuscany. I can understand not wanting to eat meat and having moral reasons not to. But meat is not boring. Not if it is made correctly.

Phil 314 said...

OK AL;
The link works. My impressions:

-yes stupid is the least one can call it
-its reassuring that the Secret Service didn't see a credible threat
-in the absence of possible criminal charges, that leaves disciplinary action by the school. Given the difficulty in implementing effective teacher discipline throughout the country (example here) I'm not too surprised with this case

PS
AL;
It must be frustrating that Althouse doesn't have regular "open threads" like say, DailyKos, does.

But despite that, is there really any point to a comment about Glen Beck in a post about a LUNCHTIME FRUIT SALAD?

(okay, okay I can see A connection between Beck and Fruit Salad but still...)

Fruit salad always tastes better when someone else does the slicing and dicing.

Where's Chip? Betcha he could suggest a nice gingery sauce for that salad.

traditionalguy said...

I have recently read studies that conclude eating plain red meats, such as beef and lamb, has no greater health risk than eating vegetables. However the health risk jumps sky high when people are eating processed meats such as hot dogs and sausages due to their high levels of salt and nitrites. That was encouraging since there are only so many days in a row that you can enjoy fish and chicken

So what does he want? A cookie?

Nice salad there. Today I made ceviche.

Isn't "a fruit salad" one of those terms like "tea bagging"?

Needs some red berries

@Fred4pres

Porchetta di Ariccia is the very antithesis of boring meat... it's sublimely simple...like Meade's fruit salad.
