(Not sure how a married lady is addressed in Japanese. Somehow, I thought I recalled 'san' was still proper. If I transformed her into a man, mea culpa)
I had a fun mitzvah today. Sang "we are the world" with a huge show choir while a love offering was taken up in the audience, for Haiti. We have two Haitian students. The overall show was the final Idol competition for area high schools. It's very well done and they are competing for college scholarships and demo Cds. Some have become professional performers or Nashville songwriters. It's awesomely awesome.
If you're not completely bored with this by now, you should be. I know I am. But on the off-chance you're faintly interested in seeing the meerkat pop-up card in its final form as sent to my brother on Monday, here it is.
And old and moldy internet trolling involved the 'san' suffix, young'uns should look it up.
Also, in case anyone wants to see what they aren't going to see from anyone else, here's my extensive tea parties coverage. Compare that summary and the posts further down the page to what you've heard from others.
That's freaking brilliant chip.. and i don't meant it sarcastically... the time alone you put into it makes it priceless.. not to mention that it's one of a kind.
Graffiti was widely viewed at first as an affront to social norms.. only to be later discovered as art. While the social norms have prevailed (by sheer will) the art does survive.
I've been smitten with Zooey ever since The Hitchhiker's Guide.. the fact that there are also recordings of her singing available is a sort of a revelation.
The Graffiti underground (they were very competitive so I don't think you can really say they were a 'community') was a kind of secret society with all the repercussions that go with that..
There are different varieties of graffiti. I've always felt uncomfortable writing the words different & variety together.. seems redundant.. but i hear people say them together all the time.

I think the Iliad may be the most affecting thing I've ever read.

There is something familiar about meerkats.. I used to watch their reality show.
the way they stand on two legs to have a better look around is very compelling.

I don't know what we did before online weather radar, to estimate when the rain would let up and the dog should go out and pee.
Tradeoffs can now be made and the good-as-it's-going-to-get choice selected.
Dislike of rain is in the Doberman breed standard.

rhhardin, our dog is a picky placer in the rain too. He wanders for many more minutes than necessary to find the place that is just so.
Drives me crazy.
