અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

Albany, NY.

City Hall.

Unknown કહ્યું...

Are you guys turning into Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper?

("They went looking for America...")

(...And found it in each other's arms!)

Now that I think about it, that's really a great way to spend Thanksgiving!!

Don't think so...

Beth કહ્યું...

Not New Orleans.

Cleveland?

અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

That's Albany, NY, City Hall, with the statue of Major General Philip Schuyler.

Albany?

blake કહ્યું...

No, Theo, that's that new casino, "Albany, Vegas". That statue's right next to the Eiffel Tower.

Peter Hoh કહ્યું...

Is the clock working? The shadows seem rather long, and the light too rosy, for 10:10 a.m.

અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

Blake, They're getting desperate. What's next, "Worcester, Las Vegas," where you can go into an authentic reproduction of a dive on Main St. and play Keno?

Ron કહ્યું...

Columbus Ohio?

blake કહ્યું...

Theo,

Either that or "Fresno, Las Vegas", where you can simulate walking through raising fields.

Henry કહ્યું...

Michael S. beat me too it.

The State Capital is directly behind the photographer.

Bissage કહ્યું...

I say EPCOT Center!!!

And there's no use trying to tell me different because I'm not changing my mind, EVER!!!

Bart Hall (Kansas, USA) કહ્યું...

The state flag in the first photo appears to be that of Missouri. Close as I can get without wasting a lot of time doing photo analysis of the building stone.

Bart Hall (Kansas, USA) કહ્યું...

That building stone bugs me, especially the trim. That stuff is almost identical the the Triassic red-beds of the Connecticut River valley, which they use for building stone all over southern New England and eastern New York.

In which case Albany is quite believable, opening the possibility that the flag is actually a Dutch flag -- Albany was settled by the Dutch and this is the 400th anniversary of Hudson -- possibly flown in violation of protocol beneath the Stars and Stripes.

tjl કહ્યું...

The building is a beautiful example of H.H. Richardson Romanesque.

Peter Hoh કહ્યું...

Bart, Albany has it's very own city flag.

former law student કહ્યું...

I note that Albany, NY, has a law school. Another year as a visitor?

former law student કહ્યું...

Better an H.H. Richardson castle than an H.H. Holmes one:
