Will it ever blink?

I assume this is a direct request for Chip to work his magic.

Ha ha. Yeah. Exactly.

Daphne: A plea to be released?

Daphne prays for help either to the river god Peneus or to Gaia, and is transformed into a laurel (Laurus nobilis): "a heavy numbness seized her limbs, thin bark closed over her breast, her hair turned into leaves, her arms into branches, her feet so swift a moment ago stuck fast in slow-growing roots, her face was lost in the canopy. Only her shining beauty was left."[5] The laurel became sacred to Apollo, and crowned the victors at the Pythian Games

Daphne, whose transformation was never better depicted than by Bernini. A remarkable sculpture, well worth putting up with the BS that the Galleria Borghese puts one through.

An intellect vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarding this earth with an envious eye...

I like the "feathers" in the iris. This reminds me of "The Forest Has Eyes, by Bev Doolittle.

After seeing a print of her work in an airline magazine, we spent a memorable afternoon in Purgatory Chasm State Reservation finding faces in the rocks.

Well, the links work. It seems I followed the directions too literally. Would I put my own title/words in the LINK TITLE HERE section? Back to the blogger tutorial...

It's Treebeard from Lord of the Rings.

Looks more like the wise old eye of a whale or an elephant, but I like this quote from Jaws.

Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they... rip you to pieces.

I have nothing clever to say. Just want to go on record that your photos and captions are always enjoyed and appreciated. Did you get a new camera recently? The clarity from the other day's mountain and rock shots seemed particularly noticable.
Hmmm, kind of an approriate word verification for a compliment about a very clear picture of a wonder of nature..."godsharp"

Well huh - I looked at the picture, saw radial checking on the end of the branch stub, rot and some mold.

Then someone pointed out that they looked like feathers. How about that, they do!

Possible titles for Chip's latest:

"Eye of the Beholder" is my first choice, but "Reflective Lens" might also work.

I can't choose my most favorite part, the watery blue eye and hairy eyebrow morphing into a clean hieroglyph, or the blink at the end.

I also like the way this one works backwards. Chip's usual animations start with the real and move to the imagined. This one moves the other direction to include the actual photographer's eye along with the camera's, before returning back to the original. All done with "The Blink of an Eye"!

Word Verification suggests "Eysts"
