1. Lunch, yesterday, at Montgomery Inn. The side dish chosen with the ribs was "onion straws." These were thin sliced onion rings, which were not anywhere near as good as the ribs but which I enjoyed well enough:
2. Dinner was the blogger-commenter meet-up downtown at Arnold's Bar and Grill. I've already shown you the hot brown. And I won't post the group photo because not everyone wants his photo on the blog. But here's a photograph of the room:

All you can eat shared with Ann Althouse sounds like quite a treat.
Looks great. Are you going to say which commenters showed up?
I'm so glad you got to go to the Montgomery Inn! It was all based on my suggestion, wasn't it? It's OK, you can admit it. :)
I hope you're walking several miles a day to burn off all that food!
The person on the far right in the photograph wears the same shirt as the sandwich eater. That's what it looks like to me, at least.

No! It was based on mine! Me me me.
Next stop:Margaritas and chili rellenos at El Coyote off Clough Pike.
I wish the commenters that show up, and wouldn't mind their picture to be displayed, give a group shot. I often wonder what commenters look like.
What did you do, and to whom, to be sentenced to Cincinnati?
Wow, the whole tour.
As a six generation Ohioan, I hereby declare Prof. Althouse an honorary Ohioan, with all the rights and privileges appertaining thereto (fancy legal lingo).
Welcome.
Skyline, Montgomery Inn. . . You sure are wearing a lot of bibs these days.
Thanks, Save.
MayBee, I think we are going there! Or some dive-y Mexican place.
@Seneca I'm having the best Spring Break ever!
Wow Ann, judging from your food blogging, you really know how to strap on the feed bags! I enjoy this :)
So when do we find out how you did in the big Cornhole game?
Or are you only pretending to be in Cincinnati?
Lucky you, Ann Althouse. I really miss Cincinnati food.
Yikes! A suggestion: if you are going to venture into Food Porn, good grief take off the bib!
It's supposed to drip on your bare, heaving chest.
"Onions straws" are really onion rings? The great Sopranos' onion ring discussion springs to mind, as I imagine you expected.
How do we interpret the photo? Is that a straw or a ring?
I hope you brought home some of the Montgomery Inn's famous BBQ sauce. you did, right?
That lovely pose simply would not look right if you were holding a boiled carrot.
I hope whoever attended had a great time. Ann, I am impressed! You ate a plate of ribs and still have a clean bib? I could never manage that, embarrassed to say. Me and ribs...well, we get all sloppy together.
Onion Straws?
It's the "Crying Game" of appetizers.
I'm enjoying the food blogging, I confess.
Makes me want to drive cross-country and try everything.

I'm not Clinton fan, but Bill Clinton would be great on any eating tour. I'd go with him in a convertible across the South, trying everything with the only rule being that we don't discuss politics.
The wife and I have the vacation already planned for the summer of 2010 - the last kid graduates college. Another couple is going with us in a motorhome (Lord, let gas be cheap, then!) the full lenght of the I-10, from Santa Monica on Saturday morning to Jacksonville, Florida 23 days later. Numerous off-the beaten path tours. The wives are looking forward to visit, but us guys know the whole thing is an eating tour of the American South.
Shoot - now I want fried chicken.
Well, that's a whole 'nother topic, innit? Who'd you like to go with, famous and non-famous?
Yeah, Clinton does seem like he'd be fun. Though he'd always be insisting that the strip club had the best hot wings....
"Is that a straw or a ring?"
Whether it is the lack of sleep, the mother of all colds that holds me in it's grasp, or the Nyquil hangover, that is the funniest thing I have read in days.
Bravo.
Trey
