Dave Barry's favorite, about a victory by a women's team from the University of Washington over a team from Oregon, is "Husky Women Subdue Ducks". My own, which may be apocryphal, also involves the University of Oregon. The Dallas Cowboys signed a player from Oregon, whose surname was Butts. The headline, of course, was "Cowboys Ink Ducks' Butts".
The University of Oregon does seem like rather fertile ground for these, doesn't it?
This headline is another example of the long decline in Men's quality of life since that dang 19th Amendment was sold to men. Never would a man write, "boys fall flat" coupled with "...girls stun..." From now on it will be the boys who do the stunning to the flat girls. This being nice has not worked out well.
That is the best weblog headline ever. It was describing Arkansas head football coach Houston Nutt's decision to start quarterback Casey Dick that weekend against the South Carolina Gamecocks. I love it.

Headline:
"Boys pole vault to greatness, girls lose race."
Glass Girls.
Once I had a love and it was a gas.
Give me liberty or give me... damn! Check out the crystal lattice structure on that one!
A glass girl with cutting wit
Cut Patrick Henry to the quick.
Patrick got up from the floor
And said, "O boy is my quick sore."

The perhaps apocryphal empty boast from Illinois:
"Normal beats Oblong"
The Green Bay Packers had at one time a quarterback named Lynn Dickey.
The rah rah chant at the time was "to beat the Packers, you'll have to lick our Dickey!"
"Nutt Wants Dick In Pocket Against Cocks"

Catholic School sports headlines are best: "Twelve Apostles trounce Immaculate Virgin."
Helen,
That is awsome. I sent that to my very Catholic wife who thought it was hysterical.
