There's something about Jesse.

Jesse #1. So Jesse Helms died. He was old and his time had passed, but he got some attention.

Jesse #2. Wait! There's a more famous Jesse the ME? JESSE THE GREAT FORMER GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA!!! That cannot stand! Jesse Ventura springs to life. He's running for Senator maybe... probably....

Jesse #3. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I AM THE JESSE!!!!!! Of all of the Jesses, one Jesse must prevail. Whatever it takes. I will not be overshadowed! I will not be ignored. Death! A lame stunt! A run for the Senate... even if it involves kicking Al Franken's ass... that will be nothing! Nothing! Compared to what I can do!!!!! Jesse Jackson will not be ignored.

UPDATE: What exactly did he say?
In a vulgar tirade caught on tape by Fox News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wanted to "rip (Barack) Obama's nuts off" and he accused the fellow Chicagoan of "talking down to black folks" by giving moral lectures to African-Americans, source said.
Supposedly, Bill O'Reilly will be playing the tape on his show (which is on soon).

AND: I watched the clip on O'Reilly. Jackson makes a little nuts-ripping hand gesture when he says it. O'Reilly was pretty mellow, but he did say that there was a lot more on the tape, that it was worse, and that they decided not to use it.

AND: I missed a Jesse.

AND: Here's the O'Reilly video.

Jesse Jackson Jr. throws Jesse Jackson Sr. under the bus!

Will the rank ingratitude of these children never end?!?!

It's the new n-word, according to John and Ken.

Meanings of the name "Jesse" include "God exists" and "Gift."

The Jesses: God's gift of blogging fodder?

OUCH (as Glenn would say).

If there was really a just God, Jesse Helms and Jesse Jackson would be locked in a room together, "No Exit" style.

This must help BHO. Isn't it safe to assume that some voters unsure about BHO being too much like Jesse would be comforted to know that Jesse is disappointed?

Also, Sharpton keeps seeming more and more mainstream, thanks to the Jesses. First, he expresses kind words to the family of Jesse #1, then Jesse #3 goes of the rails. Next #2 will invite him to the compound.

The son has conflict with the father? I guess you'd call it Oedipal, but that would be "talking down" wouldn't it?

Besides, Sandra Bullock's husband will have words with the Rev...

If there really was a god, He'd have a better sense of symmetry than that.

Oh he does that to everyone. It's his schtick.

Has he not yet reached the age, where you’re moved to utterance of thoughts properly kept silent? Habitual fuckin’ vocalizing of thoughts best kept to yourself. I will confide further. Lately…I talk to this package; the severed rotting head I paid bounty on last year of that murdered fuckin’ Indian. Perhaps the reverand might acquire a similar accessory. To aid in his prospects and to avoid future embarassments.

Al Swearengen said...

Perhaps he can acquire the beet red head of that former President. He hasn't made use of it in quite some time.

Well, the big head anyways.

Interesting. I'll bet Jesse stole that line from his wife Jacqueline who must have used it when she found out Jesse got his assistant some years ago.

Or maybe not.

Is there a good argument for Fox playing only part of what they had on Jackson? Unless Jackson's other comments had NOTHING to do with Obama, I don't agree with the decision to selectively edit. Fox should put everything on the line.

Jesse just needed to be a bit more genteel.

"I think I'm going to sever his stones."

Something like that . . .

That Bachelorette dude? Rick Springfield called to tell me he wishes that he had Jesse's girl, but, I think that Deanna is evil for standing up Jason for Gnarly McSnowboardbum!

Heloooo--does nobody else see this as a perfect chance for Obama to distance himself from those he knows will vote for him, while showing he's somehow "socially conservative?" I want to see the phone records between Jesse and Osama!

Jesse Jackson's comments are great for Obama. Jackson basically Sister Souljahed himself. Could this be referred to as a Souljahcide?

Jesse is a friend.

Well you know he's been a good friend of mine.

But lately, something's changing, it ain't hard to define, Jesse's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine.

Al Swearengen and again he's in here somewhere.

York is "Al Swearengen" and again he's in here somewhere.

God, did David Milch and the other writers create something brilliant with Al Swearengen, the intelligent dark lord of the town, and all his lines.

York had a few of Al's best lines today. Al bragging his whores were the best with "clean whistles and braided cunt hairs".

"Get the sled, Johnny. Got another dead cocksucker for Wu's pigs."

I think my favorite was Milch riffing on Abbot and Costellos "Whos on 1st" with Swearengen and Chinaman Wu not understanding each others language negotiating on how many dopefiends have to die.

"Who! You Heathen Devil. Not Wu!" "Swidgin is cocksucker" "Your calling me a cocksucker, I'll cut your throat." "No, No. Not you cocksucker, Swidgin cocksucker who take dope!" "Oh, you mean my cocksucker who you want fed to your pigs." "Pigs. Yes. Make Wu happy".

A painful but necessary moment to appraise Jesse Sr that he is no longer the Head Negro in Charge.

Al Sharpton is already with the program hoping he can swim like a remora fish and nibble the crumbs Black Messiah and Healer of the Planet passes up.

Jesse's apologia was realizing that he would have to get with the program. Or lose so much support from Dem bigwigs who enabled him and his multimillions in extortion over the years that Jesse would have a hardtime shaking down even illegal Guatemalan ice cream truck drivers in his neighborhood. To give him all the free ice cream he and the gangstas the Guatemalans "stole" the ice cream truck jobs from, want.

Move over, race pimp. Even your son thinks you're now a civil rights huckstering dinosaur.

What an awesome apology by Jackson ending with, "I cherish this redemptive and historical moment."

To paraphrase;

I said I wanted to cut your nuts off but I didn't really mean it because I really really support what you do and say. So I will really really really think of my nut cutting comment and subsequent apology with a fondness and love that will comfort me the rest of my years for I have been redeemed!.

It doesn't get any better than that.

Rev,

Add Obama and Pat Buchanan to the mix, and I'll pay to watch! :-)

Oh, and you need to have commentary by Newt and James Carville.

It's quite possible that some of Jesus' disciples wanted to cut His nuts off, despite or perhaps because of His divinity.

Or it's like the old song, "You only cut the nuts off the one you love."

Jesse Jackson (the reverend) and Al Sharpton (also revered) are being displaced from their positions as self proclaimed spokespersons for black americans. I dont think Jesse likes that much, thus the comment--that and his fixation on getting his face on TV. On this one, I am sympathetic to the Junior Senator from Illinois. Anything that can diminish Jesse jackson is good for the US.

On a side note, why is Senator Obama, who would not make a comment at the time of Senator Helm's death, now co-sponsoring a resolution praising him? (see instapundit for link) He must really need that North Carolina redneck vote. (and since I am a proud Florida cracker, I can use cracker and redneck with impunity.) Obama is a genuine weasle.

In the beginning, a year ago or so, the expression from those quarters was that Obama wasn't black enough, or maybe even that he isn't a real black. Hey, no slave blood, after all. All of the race hustlers, Jackson and Sharpton particularly included, were verrrry slow to warm up to Obama. So it all just shows to gp that the attitude really hasn't changed much if at all.

MadisonMan said...

The Senate, and all Senators, are nothing if not self-congratulatory. Of course, they dress it up as Collegiality. It's a big expensive club that you and I pay for, and its members like to bond.
