If that occurs that means we will have been through 4 years of economic hell similar to 1977-1980At least with Obama, we will all be inspired in our misery.
An election cycle or two from now it might be nice to see the governor of Alaska...
Come to think of it... she's got at least as much experience as Obama now, so I'm not sure why I think some time in grade matters.
Hmmm,
How exactly is Obama gonna get past Hillary's Superdelegates at the Convention.
Even if he has a majority of the elected delegates, the Democrats have no intention of allowing a black man to be their nominee.
Take a look at all of the senior members of the House and Senate. Take a look at all of the senior members of the Democrat National Committee.
See any black guys?

Seconded. Palin is tres lovely. Veep!
Another way for an Obama-Romney race in 2012:
McCain will trounce Hillary; then either retire or die in office. Hillary will be tagged with Al Gore disease, and go back to the Senate, a thinner, non-boozy Ted Kennedy
Superdelegates will be easy to win over. Unless you can show me otherwise, their pledges are not binding.
If, after the primaries, Obama has the majority of regular delegates, the supers will get in line.
I didn't realize that your son was a valley girl. That is totally cool.
Peter,
I'll repeat the question:
Take a look at all of the senior members of the House and Senate. Take a look at all of the senior members of the Democrat National Committee.
See any black guys (or girls)?
Superdelegates exist because the Democrat Party fears that someone just like Obama could actually, you know, win enough delegates to get nominated. OMFG!
Can't have that. That's why there are Superdelegates. And Hillary knows she can count on them, because she knows why they exist.
Superdelegates prevent black people from ever escaping the place in life that Democrats want them in: Needing Democrats.
If Obama were to run the table from here out, most superdelegates will support his nomination. To do otherwise would be to inflict great damage to the party.
Slim, on your question, yes, I realize that the party leadership, at the highest levels, has few if any non-white faces.
However, you offer an unprovable assertion -- that they will not allow Obama to win the nomination. After the convention, you may be able to make that claim, but not now.
The really interesting fight will center around the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegates. This will only happen if Clinton and Obama arrive at the convention without the necessary number to secure the nomination.
My guess is that even if it's tight, the Florida and Michigan delegates get seated. The superdelegates will then have the opportunity to function as a counter to the Clinton machinations.
Peter,
Just a clarification: You said that "the [Democrat] party leadership, at the highest levels, has few if any non-white faces."
In fact, there are none, not few. None. The only plausible explanation for that is racism.
You are right, I guess, that I can't prove that Superdelegates will prevent the nomination of of a black man ... only because a black man has never won enough delegates to threaten a nomination.
Obama will be the first. Then, we'll see the true face of the Democrat Party.
