Hey, you can get decent sweaters for less than that if you know where to look, or you can anticipate them becoming available.
For example, I expect that very soon the McCain campaign will be having a fire sale on sweaters.
I first read that as "preposterous enough to spend $500 on wool for a sweater". Makes more sense that way....
particularly in the summer...now that is disposable cash.

If these prices are an indication of what happens when a hobby goes trendy, I sure hope cross stitching stays dorky forever.
