"We don't have the joke-botching Senator to kick around anymore."
Not entirely true. The Boston Globe reports Kerry intends to seek re-election to the Senate in '08. His re-election can be taken for granted in one-party Massachusetts, with its all-Dem Congressional delegation and its quaint tradition of senators-for-life.
Far be it from John Kerry to go gently into that good night.
Crushing news to Freepers, Malkanites, and Kaus Kidz everywhere. Keep your chin up Ann, I'm sure there will be more Lonely Kerry stories that will catch your keen eye.
Maybe latch on that gripping Newsbusters story on the "mysterious foliage" behind Hillary in her webcast announcement. Whaaa? That's not true either?
So much concern shown by the far right. Tell ya what. You worry about your half of the ticket, dems will worry about our half...but in case you don't want to keep your nose clean, HEY HOW ABOUT THAT NEWT!!! (remember him? the guy who comforted his wife, in the hospital with cancer, getting a divorce...remember him?) run new run. lol
the right wing in this country is a laugh riot i'll tell ya'.
"One of the big thing's that's wrong with the Senate, he'll be seeking his fifth term in 2008, and he's still the Junior Senator."
You are right:
16 senators have served more than 25 years, 27 more than 20, 44 for two terms or more, and 57 for ten years or more. And that does not include ten or so long-serving congressman who have been elevated to Senate seats.
So basically about 65-75 senators have been there for a long, long time and are an entrenched part of the beltway elite for sure.
So now there is really only one botched vote candidate in the race: Hillary.
Edwards renounced his vote and today put a challenge to Senate Democrats in Roll Call.
Obama never voted for it.
Richardson never voted for it.
Biden and Dodd aren't in the double digits (neither is Richardson, but he negotiates treaties and peace accords, etc.)
Kerry made the Russ Feingold decision to stay where he is, and his $12.5 million, which he does not need to run for re-election, as well as his 3 million person donor list, could easily go to the highest bidder. I bet Obama is on the phone to Kerry right now, talking about how Secretrary of State Kerry makes eminent sense.
Kerry may not be President in 2008, but if there's a Democrat in the White House in 2008, you can bet Kerry will be in his/her cabinet. Look at that! I just gained respect for Kerry.
"I was so hoping that he would run for President ... just so we could get a Senator who actually brings some ideas to his job."
gj: I used the same kind of logic, when I felt that W's getting elected in 2000 would get him out of Texas. "How much damage can he do in Washington?" I said to myself. See what happens when we think we can control/predict the future?
Senator John Foster Kerry may have bowed out of the presidential arena, but he won't be sitting on his duff eating cheetos, and growing a beard, like Gore.
Okay, everybody, here’s what happened. First, I told Mrs. Bissage about Victoria’s clever comment and then about how Ploorian showed us even more things we can do now that Kerry has dropped out of the running. Then, Mrs. Bissage gave me express orders to post this, along with the caption: “Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys!” (Scroll three-quarters down).
You know, these unfortunate snaps of Kerry remind me of Martina Navratilova (bear with me).
The thing of it is, the press seemed to take an inordinate pleasure in publishing photos of her that were, shall we say, less than flattering to her, face-wise.
She was no oil painting, I grant you, but man, when the press want to show you up in the worst light, they'll go after you like sharks to blood.

JFK Mk.2 doesn't have the kind of daddy issues fatty Gore does.
Ruth Anne, I'd forgotten about his trip to KSC and the problems it created for a few civil servants there. Being allowed to use NASA in a campaign the way he did was a big no-no. But it was all worth just for those bunny suit photos.

"Kerry, 64,who lost the White House when Ohio voted for President Bush by 118,601 votes on election night in November 2004..."
He lost the White House before he won the White House.
Damn now I have to go and buy a dog.
Now "there's" a God bless America, for you.

Doh!
I'm tearing up a little, just like the Senator.
One of the big thing's that's wrong with the Senate, he'll be seeking his fifth term in 2008, and he's still the Junior Senator.
Term limits would be great (why limit presidential terms and not those in Congress as well?), terminal limits would be even better.

Good. Now I can take up windsurfing again.
Cheers,

Warner/Bayh/Vilsack as VP.
Kerry as Secretary of State. (Not if Biden steals South Carolina or Richardson steals Nevada.)
These are the gambles I see.
John, we hardly knew ye.

Does Hillary have a Myspace page, yet?
Peace, Maxine
See Ya! Don't let it hit you in the ass on the way out! Thank god, Teresa Heinz Kerry has only 56 ways left to stay away from the White House!
Oh my goodness gracious!
Can someone do a split-screen, please?
Take a look at the difference in Hillary's makeup 1/22 vs. 1/23.
She had virtualy no lipstick on during the 1/22 video, but on 1/23 she's got tons of irridescent, shimmery pink lipstick.
It's the matte look on 1/22, but 1/23 she goes shiny glossy.
The versitility !
Maybe tonight it'll be the "Vamp" look. Perhaps a blood red lip, with a powdery plum eye?
Ain't it fun having a female presidental candidate....!
Peace, Maxine
Hey, Victoria, that’s not all!
Hey, Victoria, that’s not all!
Wow, am I going to be busy!
Cheers,
Victoria
>We don't have the joke-botching Senator to kick around anymore.
In truth, Hillary reminds me more of Dick Nixon than John Kerry ever did.
Bissage, you forgot this and this.
Bissage, you forgot this and this.
And who can forget?
One thing's for sure.
Senator John Foster Kerry may have bowed out of the presidential arena, but he won't be sitting on his duff eating cheetos, and growing a beard, like Gore.
Cheers,
Victoria
Hey, Ploorian, thanks for one of the best laughing fits I’ve had in a month! At least!!

You’ve got to love Mrs. Bissage!
Victoria:
Hope you can afford all those sports outfits let alone the skis, the $6,000 bike and the boat!
Victoria:
Don't forget space camp.
zeb, thanks for letting me laugh at that pic again! Classic.
Here's my fave Kerry pic.
And here's my fave from the campaign.
Heh, Ruth Anne and Zeb -- both of you went for the same visual.
One more?

Just ask Dr. Dean.

Victoria
