Actually, I wasn't thinking that, but, if it is true tha most of us believe that "resolutions are made to be broken," it probably follows that some would believe that "political theories need not account for reality."
Ann- just a little off subject note. I just watched much of your discussion with Jonah Goldberg at bloggingheadstv, and wanted to tell you that you were brilliant, particuarly on the civil rights issue vis-a-vis Frank Meyer's writings. You said something in the course of that discussion I liked and related to- that it's important not to fall into the habit of fault-finding only on one end of the political spectrum. It's an easy trap to fall into. Anyway, you were smart, energetic, persistent and correct. Very well done.
