The reason this post isn't at all like Lileks is that he'd start describing what we can all see in the picture but somehow do it in a way that would make everything absurd. I am framing the shots to put some ideas in your head, so I don't usually want to substitute text, and I like leaving the comments open for riffing on the images. I love the idea of Fuelman and the Octopus in a battle.

They seem a little too eager to wield that thing.
Syfers reconsidered: I want an octopus.
Dang. Our Octpus car wash went out of business 2 years ago. I badly wanted that octopus for my backyard, but one day it was gone. Gone!

'kay... I don't care how "cute" that damn octopus is supposed to look. As a kid, that would've scared the hell outta me!
The "cute" smile woulda just made it worse.
What? No picture of Clean Silvio?
No mention of Rose Royce?
In a Ghostbusters-inspired battle, who would win, Fuelman or the Octopus? I'd bet on the Octopus.
I don't know -- if FuelMan has any kind of ignition device, it could be a short battle.
Flamethrower robot versus cephalopod with a sponge and bucket.
Mmmmmm... Fried calamari.

I grew up a few blocks from that Octopus...
Cute. Not scary. The 15 foot high mural of a wild-eyed Italian chef that confronts the octopus from Lombardino's -- very scary!
Dory: Yeah, we need to get Chef Lombardino in the battle with Octopus and Fuelman.
