"I don’t want to be just a little nice monotone character and in many cases I will be... that’s easier. Honestly to do that, it’s easier."

Said Donald Trump to Lesley Stahl on "60 Minutes" last night. Full video and transcript, here.

He was good, but the interviewer, Leslie Stahl, was boring, unimaginative, and predictably liberal.

Un-asked Questions:

1. The unemployment rate is said to be around 5%, which sounds pretty low, but about 94 million people are out of the workforce. How do you square these two items, and what can you do about it?

2. Does the Iraq nuclear deal make our country and Israel safer, in your view? Why or why not?

3. Why do you think 90% of blacks vote Dem? Is this a good thing? What policies do you support that would attract more blacks to the GOP?

An example of just how dishonest the liberal media and the crooked Dems are is their blaming Trump for not calling for the rioters to stop. Where is Obama and crooked Hillary and shouldn't they be calling on the rioters to stop?

90% of blacks vote dem because they buy the grudge as a way to get stuff theory.

Maybe Trump will push good character and they'll change. Otherwise they're doomed.

I read an illuminating article about Trump a few days ago that Instapundit linked from Buzzfeed.

I suggest anyone really interested in what the next four years might be like read it. Trump has apparently absorbed an awful lot of rejection along the way and it apparently fuels him. A seminal moment described in the article was the 2011 White House Correspondent Dinner where apparently he got shit on pretty hard by Obama while he was sitting in the audience. Spoiler alert: he didn't like it a bit. So there is a apparently quite a lot of "oh, yes, I fucking can!" in Donald Trump. I am not sure I would want to be the blue state that cuts up stiff over the enforcement of Federal immigration law. They could be looking at Federal troops pretty quick.

Got to love a man who plays to his strengths.

WWJD. (What would Jackson do?)

IIR Old Hickory's biggest regret was that he did not hang John C Calhoun for Treason.

The Trail of Illegal's Tears is coming after the Senate is 60+ two years from now.

But the Federal Reserve Bank had better be making plans.

@dreams - My theory on Obama and Clinton not calling on the rioters to stop and Obama actually doing something to crack down on it is that he wants to leave the mess for Trump to clean up. That way, Trump "proves" what an uncaring, mean, horrible asshole he is right out of the box. Frame it and hang it. See? We tried to tell you how awful he is.

Sanctuary cities will start becoming more law abiding too after their federal funding is cut off.

Yes, that jumped out at me too. A bit snarky... a level of snark I'd call Obamaesque.

Obama doesn't do anything about the riots because he flat doesn't give a rip. He golfed 5 hours on Saturday and he also golfed Sunday. Sure it also works that Trump will have to fix it now. But he did the same ole thing every other riot. And there've been plenty.

He could care less if the plebes die in the streets.

My suggestion for Trump would be to note that policing is a local issue, and if Democrat controlled cities can't provide law and order than maybe their citizens should rethink who they vote for.

However, if there are people/organizations who are organizing/funding these protests, inciting illegal activities, then the FBI should be investigating that, and if federal laws are being broken then prosecute that at the federal level, or assist in the investigation if local laws are broken by someone organizing at the national level.

He handled the grilling about as well as Obama does when reporters are aggressive and push for actual answers......

Yeah, I don't remember any of that either.

Call on rioters to stop? Hell, they're busing them in!

Video of buses by the block load that brought "spontaneous" protesters to Chicago via Wisconsin Badger Bus? The anti-Walker forces were ready!

Hilarious. There was a great Seattle, New England game on last night. What do you think ?

I quit watching 60 Minutes years ago after a friend of mine was interviewed and another guy I knew told me about their editing.

Of the blacks who voted by ballot 90% voted for Democrats. But what about those who voted with their feet? Black turnout went way down. In Milwaukee it fell by 70,000 votes. And Trump won Wisconsin by 27,000 votes. Remember Trump tried to reach blacks, he promised them jobs, an escape from the rotted public school system and safe streets. Don't forget Trump went right into Detroit, Ben Carson helped with this. So perhaps in this election cycle the blacks didn't go GOP by ballot but they heard Trump, you could argue, and went neutral. If he even partway delivers then, in the next cycle, they would vote by ballot for the GOP. And since he wants a construction jobs program, they could get jobs right away. Then after cheap energy and trade renegotiations American manufacturing will pick up and that is jobs also but these would be permanent private sector jobs.

So Trump does have a plan but it isn't labelled "Blacks Only". It isn't necessary or a good thing to have such plans, mainly consisting of welfare and affirmative action. (If I were Trump I would develop a whole new org chart for the Justice Department with the entire current Civil Rights Division reporting directly to the Chief of Very Important Things with whom meetings should be continually scheduled to review reorganization and form committees and write reports and rewrite reports and report on rewrite reports. While a new Constitutional Rights division restored constitutional rights though leaving kissing policy to the states.)
