"My problem is that if I think the president is the lowest form of life, if I think he is an orange amoeba, I cannot get to discuss policy..."

"... because I am stuck down there at the fact that he is not fit to be president."

Said Ana Navarro, quoted in "Conservative panelists erupt over Trump's record, polls" (at CNN).

That photo of a giant amoeba, Chaos carolinense, comes from Wikipedia. I oranged it up myself. I just wanted to help you visualize Navarro's insult.

Oh come on, we can still discuss policy, regardless of the fitness of the president.

Washington elite like Navarro are still nervous. Hope they have to live the next four years with Trump and their epic failure to stop him.

Pearl clutching as politics.

Maybe now if we "like" China on Facebook they'll still let us use the South China Sea.

Notice how Navarro used the word "I" four times in that sentence (very womanly, like Trump?). She cannot "discuss policy" because she is "struck down" by the "fact" Trump "is not fit to be president." Makes me think about the personal calculation behind this vitriolic reaction to Trump.

Trump is a threat to to the rice bowls of establishment players at every level. These people are bit players who want to be more. They have very little value in the real world and they know it. Any threat to the established two-party political order as defined by the consultant class is an existential threat to them.

I've seen live amoebae under a microscope. Amoebae were on a slide of mine. Navarro, you're no conservative.

What makes him unfit to be president compared to the other candidate or the person who was elected 8 years ago?

I have never derived any value from a thing Ana Navarro has said.

Navarro is like Meaghan Kelley;utterly full of shit in their hypocrisy. Trump is unfit to be president because of the "women issue" but Bill Clinton did all of that and a lot more while president but he was fit to be president? In the meantime Bill is still married to his enabler. Navarro can't explain why a pig isn't fit to be president but a criminal and traitor is.

@CH: "Pearl clutching as politics." True. But the GOP will need pearl clutchers if it wants to win presidential elections. Specifically, educated married white women. Sad but true, barring amendment of the 19th amendment. Of course, Trump is the perfect candidate to drive them away as the war-on-women meme spread. Not that it mattered to the minority of GOP voters who saddled us with the clueless clown, now headed for a historic loss against the most flawed Dem candidate in recent memory.

Sebastian,
If this is the nature of modern US politics (and it is) then its merely proof of the degeneracy of your polity and the people, as individuals and as a mass. Far too many people are simply too incompetent to maintain a civilization. Questions of tactics and candidates in some election are details.

The " pearl clutching women", among many others, dont belong in politics. They are a manifestation of the inevitable collapse of a democracy the ancients warned about.

Ana is a wholey owned Bush Family plant. She is usually on CNN panels because she is guaranteed to talk bad of the horrible Trump using genuine-faked feelings of the Chicana in authority.

He isn't of the political class. He didn't go to the same schools they did, nor read the same books assigned by the same professors. He doesn't believe that the political class has done a good job running the country. After all, they've only saddled the country with an admitted national debt of $20 trillion while enriching themselves and their cronies. To the political class, obviously Trump isn't qualified. That they believe Hillary is qualified shows just how deluded the political class really is.

Another Jeb surrogate.

from Wikipedia

"Navarro has served on a number of Republican administrations, including the transition team for Florida governor Jeb Bush in 1998.[6] She also served as the National Co-Chair of the Hispanic Advisory Council for John McCain in 2008[2] and Jon Huntsman Jr. in 2012.[7] She supported Jeb Bush's 2016 presidential campaign."

If those conservative commentators didn't want Trump then they needed to work harder for Cruz back in the late winter, early spring. Or better yet, work for Romney's election four years ago. Yes, I know that to the nattering class "work" is a four letter word, but they really should try it sometime. They might also wish to get out and meet real people with real concerns and real issues. Even David Brooks admitted that he should have done more of that -- getting out of the large coastal cities and talked to real people. But to my knowledge he's never done so.

I think "Me-Again" for Meagan Kelly comes from Ace of Spades originally. And it is such a perfect fit it has swept through the blogosphere rapidly.

Sh's such a hypocrite. Bashing Trump all day long because he allegedly loves pretty women, all while dressed like a high class hooker. "Don't look at my perky, upturned tits that are inside my specially tailored tight shirt to show them off! You pervert! Don't look! But they are nice, aren't they?"

I'm insulted at the suggestion that you might think that I know (or worse, care) who Ana Navarro is. My dog who has now been dead for two years didn't think much of Barack Obama. Is that supposed to mean something? A lot of folks have inflated ideas of their relative importance. Down here among the Deplorables, nobody gives a flying fig for what we think.

@cubanbob, Vance is right. I got it from Ace. But I really, really like Vance's take on Me-Again's outfits.

Just what I said the other day about that nincompoop in Maine tearing down the signs. Obviously women are too excitable and emotional to be involved in politics. And our society is too decadent if we can tolerate and even accommodate such petty bullshit.

"But the GOP will need pearl clutchers if it wants to win presidential elections. Specifically, educated married white women."

Hard to find a more milquetoast candidate than Romney, he lost the female vote by 12%. Recall what the media did to Palin? A working mother/Governor. She was said not to represent feminism and declared a threat to women's rights. You see, according to media even Republican women hate women.
It will be interesting to see how Trump does among women compared to Romney. But I think Instapundit is correct. Republicans need to make inroads into pop culture if they want to win over the female vote. You can not counter 365 days of "The View", Cosmopolitan, "The Daily Show", "Family Guy"................ with a few months of ads every four years. The absurdity of women cheering Bill Clinton while claiming to be aghast over Trump's pussy grabber tape and ridiculous claims of sexual abuse by a porn star illustrates that.
