Corey Lewandowski — who got into so much trouble touching a woman — tells a woman "Don’t touch me."

Here's a reminder of what Lewandowski did that got him arrested for touching a woman. The situation involved a female reporter getting at Trump and Lewandowski's brusqueness in moving her away. In the end, he was not charged.

The woman in this new video clip is former New York Assembly Speaker Christine Quinn. After expressing her empathy with Ghazala Khan, she gets very emotional when Lewandowski attempts to take a turn speaking. Lewandowski calmly says "You’ve got to relax a little bit," which flips Quinn out.

Compare the time Lewandowski touched a woman to this woman's touching Lewandowski.

Touching is a convention. Whether it's okay or not is about what convention has the upper hand.

Taking offense still offers lots of benefits, so disputing the convention still pays.

At least until taking offense itself starts losing you points, a recognition, say, that it's a character flaw.

I suppose ring kissing will still be allowed.

Lovely person. 34 years and she can't talk about her mother? I call bullshit.

Another BS story, and Quinn is another liberal shrew.
Khan's law firm paid a lot of money to Clinton's campaign, and specializes in Muslim immigration. Kahn is on record as saying that Sharia is superior to any other law. I'm sure he really knows NOTHING about the US Const. Of course mainstream media ignores this TRUTH

Not that it's a big deal, but since it's highlighted as a hyperlink, I'll just mention that Christine Quinn was not Speaker of the New York State Assembly, but rather Speaker of the New York City Council.

CNN hired Corey for stuff like this. He generates controversy and hurts Trump.

CNN in full Clinton News Network mode.

Why doesn't CNN run one of its famous countdown clocks of days since last Hillary press conference.

Its a close call between incidental contact and holding but I wouldnt throw the flag.

She isnt the most reasonable woman however and she should check her privilege and Mick has the shrew thing right.

Corey saved Michelle from intervention by the Secret Service (who already warned her not to touch him) and somehow he's at fault.

She is acting out by method acting the claim of Khan's wife to possess the absolute authority of a hurting woman in a room. And Cory defied that claim. No sex for Cory soon.

But strangely, he just doesn't seem to care.

They're in a crowded room with a presidential candidate, secret service and security everywhere. The situation is exactly the same. This reminds me of "scientists" that equate laboratory experiments, or, worse, models, to the real world. No, even worse, is when they claim isolated experiments or models provide evidence superior to observations.

It is not clear from that interaction who touched whom. The assemblywoman is holding her arm out as if to say "let me finish," and Lewandowski lifts his hand up to make his point and contact is made. He appears to push her not-yet-touching hand out from in front of him as he says "don't touch me." I think a person could reasonably conclude Lewandowski was the "toucher" even though the assemblywoman's arm was in his personal space.

Regardless, this event is in no way comparable. Lewandowski left bruising on Ms. Fields arm with the force of his "touch," agreed to make an apology, and then later embarked on a smear campaign falsely tweeting this:

@MichelleFields you are totally delusional. I never touched you. As a matter of fact, I have never even met you.

After video evidence showed him to be a liar, the Trump campaign changed the story that Lewandowski was acting as a self-appointed secret service agent.

Althouse applies the adverb "calmly" to Mr. Lewandowski's retort. Watch his face during the exchange and decide if this is a man who is calm or who on the verge of losing his cool.

They get a lot out of that unable-to-touch thing in Pushing Daisies.

Courtly love and all that.

Some good sight gags, for example, the guy petting his dog with a hand on a stick.

Somebody thought of that.

Sad. When you watch clips such as this - along with clips from Trump rallies, State Democratic primary conventions (Nevada), etc - you really start to see 'how' we got the candidates we're stuck with. There are A LOT of whacked-out people with excessive "passion" in this country who are now being represented by their anointed standard bearers. I blame Jerry Springer.

BTW - "touching" was the least obnoxious aspect of that encounter.

What in the world is wrong with this woman? Can't she make her point without being so dramatic and flipping out?

Says the woman on a Nationally-broadcast TV show. Lying comes so easily to her, just like Clinton.

The Khan family represents all that is wrong with America. They belong to the tribe who think government should rule over "we the people". Same as Clinton.

In Pakistan, the people are all peasants. Khan wants the same for America. He see's Democracy as evil.

She shows an uncanny ability to channel the spirit of Bella Abzug. I'm surprised that she has not risen higher in Democratic circles. Perhaps if Hillary gets elected a position can be found for her in the State Dept. She would be the ideal person to negotiate with the Iranians.........Corey Lewandowski is a jerk. This does not preclude the possibility that there are bigger jerks in the world.

Situation and context matter. Fields went somewhere people asked her not to go. This woman was trying to silence another person in a rant.

Comparing these events is a joke.

She touched his finger. If she would've kicked him in the nuts it might have hurt, but the finger? What a pussy he is. He manhandles a woman and then gets intimidated when her palm touches his finger? Representing Trumpism well, this spokesmouth.

So no one should ever touch gay people? Do you wash your hands after you take a leak, coupe? Do you have an aversion to gay people? Maybe gay people are disgusted by your bad breath, your face, your fat body, or your personality.

Lewandowski looks like he's always on the verge of striking out at someone, like a spring wound too tight that might...spring. He's the bigger threat to anyone sitting next to him than this woman is by far.

charged
CHärjd/Submit
adjective
having an electric charge.
filled with excitement, tension, or emotion.
"the highly charged atmosphere created by the boycott"

What Lewandowski did was correct. He stopped Fields from getting near Trump. Then she lied about it to the world and smeared him. A terrible person she is.

What this woman is doing has no semblance to that except in both instances physical contact is being made. This woman is hysterical and emotional, something the left loves. Forget logic, facts, reason, etc.

Emote. That's what wins.

Etienne said...

It was the invention of the vibrator which cured hysteria. Women no longer had to go to their doctor for relief, or be put in asylums. They could bring themselves, or their maids to an orgasm whenever they desired.

Maybe. But the video clip shows him to be far more composed than the shrieker sitting next to him.

Will @ 9:38: "What in the world is wrong with this woman? Can't she make her point without being so dramatic and flipping out?"

Dude. She's PAID to be dramatic and flip out. TV depends on superficial flourishes like that. Combine her gesturing and shouting with her statement that even today, 34 years later, she can't deal with the loss of her mother in a public setting. This is a professional Reality Show operator.

Or else she's off her meds. I don't watch enough TV to know the difference.

Quinn started off as the front runner in 2013 when the Democratic primary for the NYC mayoralty nomination got underway, but ended up running third, winning only about 15% of the vote. Turned out that her base was almost entirely in Manhattan (and even there, she ran second), and NYC has four other boroughs. Quinn is currently being mentioned for a high position in a Clinton administration, but perhaps as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development--not anything remotely connected to foreign policy.
