The 15th century mansion where Rupert Murdoch and his wife Jerry Hall had dinner with Donald Trump.

It's the MacLeod House, part of the Trump International Golf Links Scotland. Very nice. I'm also interested to be reminded of the weirdness that is Mick Jagger's ex-wife being married to the 80-year-old media tycoon. The Daily Mail reports and includes details like Trump's driving of Murdock and Hall in a golf cart (with Murdock left sitting alone in the back seat), the fact that Trump would probably order the the king prawn cocktail and a steak, and the reporters faux-fretting about the way Trump was showing off his a golf course instead instead of behaving like a conventional candidate who'd be grinding through a lot of fundraising at this point. Lots of pics at The Daily Mail, where they're sloppy enough to have a caption that reads "Whirlwind romance: Hall married Trump in March, three months after they announced their engagement," and mean enough to dig up an unflattering  2012 photo of Trump teeing off.

MAN that Jerry Hall is a hustler! I'd like to know what she's got that's so great.

Trump knew Althouse could not spy on him there, with her "no travel" ethos....hence, he could speak freely, and cruelly neutrally!

They're also faux-fretting wrong. Murdoch is a bigger get than any UK politico (other than the queen) and bigger than any EU politico (other than Angela). Methinks Trump and Hall will get along as well, but hopefully not too well, so it's win-win.

So who is an elitist?

victoria said...

Really, D.T. is the worst kind of elitist, one who is but says he's not. He is "a man of the people". gag me. Nothing could be further from the truth. "You can fool some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." Which is really sad because the Republicans really need (and i wanted) a candidate that could vanquish Hillary. Guess what, he can't. he will be discovered for the fraud that he is soon enough and be defeated like the poseur that he is.

Golf carts don't sit three across, so how should they have sat? Leave their host up front like a chauffeur? Have Jerry in back by herself? That last one would have led to another week+ of cries of misogyny.

Maybe Rupert can move (not) like(, but better than) Jagger.

Trump has a Kardashian like rear end. It will take him high and far.

A truly pressing 1st World Problem, the golf cart dilemma. What to do, what to do. Those elites have some tough decisions, give 'em a break.

Wince said...

With two in the back seat of the cart, neither occupant can swing around to look forward during the tour. It made perfect sense for the man to sit on the rear bench, swing around and lift his left leg on the bench rather than a woman in a skirt.

But look at Murdoch's chin in the following photo. He looks like a ventriloquist dummy.

Great idea! Get someone to do some negative research on Trump and expose him for the fraud that he is!! Awesome idea.

Really, D.T. is the worst kind of elitist,

Is it just me, or just a short time ago weren't all of the Hillary trolls explaining to us what low class losers Trump supporters were? Now it would seem that Hillary is the champion of these same disenfranchised! That she promises to continue these same policies and keep the same Goldman Sachs cronies in power to make things better!

I hear you! I promise that as soon as Goldman Sachs calls me back, I will explain to them why you are so upset and I am sure we can come up with something to ease their conscience!

Quite possibly she also has a brain.

Well....she did monetize it.

Donald Trump seems like some melding of both Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby. He's got those meat eating jaws but, at the same time, he is always stretching for something that he will never quite reach.......As Mary Beth pointed out. there is no way the seating on that golf cart could have been arranged in an equitable manner. There is so much in life that cannot be arranged in an equitable manner.

Trump has an excellent high finishing position for a man his age- weight balanced and through to his left side, club across his back, not the dangling sack of laundry of a high handicapper.

Other current presidents should be so lucky.

What a beautiful place that Trump built. The Scots will be beating down the doors to play there.

I cannot wrap my head around that. Guess I'm getting too old since I grew up in the era of Mick and Jerry.

Mick Jagger is no spring chicken, either.

I don't have the verbatim quote, but Jerry Hall's mother told her whenever she had a spare moment with her husband to drop to her knees.

Must be a hint about polishing his shoes or checking his cuffs for lint. Seems to have worked.

I was thinking the same thing. Wonder what his handicap is?

Trump. I think it's a portmanteau for Tyrannosaurus Rump!

I wouldn't think someone who was married to Mick Jagger would be terribly tempted to marry for money. (Surely she has plenty.) Maybe she really likes him.

The Scots already have his number.

The Lefty Scots (a large percentage) have their pre-written narrative. Soros provided the professionally printed signs.

Darrell said...

The Daily Mail is still a right-leaning paper (by the American definition) but they have the same problem that all the great American papers had--all the people they hire are Lefties out of Lefty journalism schools. Eventually you don't have any editors to keep the Bolshies in check, and all articles match the same MSM Lefty narrative.

What is the deal with people going crazy over Trump still doing business while running for president? They didn't know how to handle him having a press conference about his property on the same morning of the Brexit results, even though he took questions. Hillary was wrong, released a paper statement about how this proves she is the one for the job, and is now hunkered down.

I don't know. We talk all the time about getting money out of politics, but want only unemployed people to run for office. People too rich to work, I guess. Oh, and Senators can run, keep their paychecks, and not do a bit of the work they are paid to do. That isn't scandalous, but actually working is!

Duncan Macleod?

Also, Unknown, did you know Trump once toured a Children's Hospital and kissed every baby in there?

Trump cares for all Children in People's make glorious Republic!

***Also, Hillary has tree trunks for legs.

Jerry Hall is some dish...

Tree trunks!

I read yesterday that Bill Wyman's son from his first marriage married Bill's next wife's mother.

Maybe they just like each other's sense of humor?

Darrell: "The Lefty Scots (a large percentage) have their pre-written narrative. Soros provided the professionally printed signs."

This is typical of all "grassroots" "organic" leftist movements.

Murdock is 25 years older than Hall (if I have the correct dates)

Clinton is 27 years older than Lewinsky (again, if I have the correct dates)

Yeah, that Murdock is really out of line here.

Drago said...

And don't get me started on the potential age differences between Bill and Epsteins underage princesses he keeps on his island (that Bill only visited about 28 times and multiple times without secret service escort.....you know, to protect the girls....)
