"I think it's 104°. Is everybody okay?" — says Donald Trump, who is wearing the usual dark suit over a long-sleeved, cuff-linked shirt.

He has left off the tie for this one. Have we ever seen him out of a suit? How is it possible to campaign in the summer, in broad sunlight, and keep that jacket on? "This is hot out!" — he exclaims, then launches into his usual tirade, and the heat seems to have no noticeable effect on him. Maybe there's some air-conditioning system under that jacket.

Anyway, lots of material in that speech, including a harsh attack on Hillary, some of which is quoted in this New York Post article, for example: “Hillary hates Obama. She’s hated him for years. Bill Clinton really hates Obama. I know that as a fact... What a mess she’s in. Who would be so stupid to do what she did with her emails?... But I get why she did it — because she’s a thief. That’s why she did it... Hillary Clinton should be in jail for what she did to our national security. She could have used a government server...They are protecting her from going to jail, and she doesn’t want to anger the president by saying, ‘I disagree with you on this,’... If you choose Hillary Clinton, this country is going to die.... She’s got people like Huma, the wife of Anthony Weiner. Now how’d you like to have Anthony Weiner have our secrets? She goes home and she tells him everything...."

Per John Roberts of Fox News, there is an air conditioning unit inside the lectern.

President Pleasant to Listen To said yesterday :

“I want our democracy to work in such a way that eventually — and I’ve been waiting a while now – and eventually the Republican fever breaks and they become once again a sensible center-right party that can have a coherent policy debate with us and we can actually get some stuff done. But that doesn’t happen if we start digging into absolutist positions and aren’t willing to compromise and are resorting to some of the same kinds of tactics they’ve been engaging in for quite some time.”"

Ah yes. He's the grown up in the room.

The Donald turns up the heat, and Hillary feels a sirocco wind coming out of Northern California.

In Obama's democracy, he tells the people what political opinions they may express and vote upon. Hail Caesar!
Good God, that man is a gasbag.

It's hot as hell out. So to him, it just feels like home.

Damn, if I had to bet, I'd bet on Trump winning the election. That's after being certain that he had no chance of getting the GOP nomination when this started. The Clintons are now a spent force and I don't think they now have what it takes to take Trump down.

The best chance for the Dems is for HRC to drop out after getting the nomination, perhaps because of health reasons, and hand it over to a Biden/Warren ticket.

Why can't our candidates be more ripped?

Carol: "Trump has serious Dad Bod."

Not everyone can be a workout fanatic like Hillary and Bernie.

BTW, what's the latest over/under until the media tells how how "beautiful" Hillary is and how "in love" Bill and Hillary happen to be?

I'm guessing about 4 weeks.

I'm so cynical I half expect an intrepid photographer to somehow be able to elude all secret service agents around Bill and Hill and work himself/herself/X-self into a position to snap a photo of Bill and Hill dancing together, without a care in the world, on a beach, while gazing lovingly into each others eyes.

Of course, Bill and Hill will be quite upset about this photographer publishing the photo and violating their loving privacy while simultaneously we will be subjected to round the clock discussions on ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC about this violation of a loving couples private moment by objective "journalists" like little Stephy.

"Lifelong republican" Chuck will come along shortly thereafter to expound endlessly on how the Clinton's are much better family-folk than that evil Trump.

He's had to wear a bullet proof vest since the first weeks of the campaign. That's why the suits. My husband noticed it, because that's his job, but the suits are good but not a great fit.

Yes. I just hope that's enough. A Mexican candidate was shot in the head on TV a few years ago.

I hope those SS guys are doing a good job. After Obama and Hillary, I can guess their choice of candidate.

I read Gary Aldrich's book years ago and there is a new book from an ex-SS guy coming out the end of the month.

The Clintons and Obama are abusive toward the Service. Rosalynn Carter was astonished that Nancy Reagan knew the first name of the SS agent protecting them before the inauguration. He wrote a good book about the Reagans titled "Riding With Reagan."

The Progs' sense of righteousness allows them to get violent and not merely feel no hesitation and no guilt or shame; but to feel a primordial joy. This is very dangerous, both in itself and in what it will provoke. Because if anybody should be feeling a sense of wounded righteousness right now, it's the people the Progs attack. When they break loose, look out.

"Asking for a fight" is an old phrase that packs a big punch.

Crazy times.

Trump never seems to want anything from his voters (other than their votes). Obama seems to need validation from the whites who lifted him to high office. Obama is a popinjay, and a popinjay needs an audience. Both the Clinton's are needy in their own ways.

buwaya said...

I think Trump needs an audience also.
He has always tried his best to find one.
In that respect these people are much the same.
Some presidents did not, or do not, require an audience. Both Bushes seem to be rather private types, as politicians go.
Hilary Clinton does not seem to like audiences at all.

It is unbelievable that the Donald and Hillary are the front runners with the old Marxist and dumb as a rock Biden in the wings (Yes, I have met him and conversed with him and he isn't smart.).

How did we come to this on the heels of NerObama?

The Instapundit has this right. The media will monitor Trump, while the Dems would be left to rape and pillage at will. I'm about to come around to Trump.

Trumpzilla was born of earth in bluetopia NYC. Manners were beat into the young wilding at a military academy. As a young man Trumpzilla learned to maneuver through the regulatory maze and political payoff system that controlled the Democrat paradise. At age 47 he witnessed how the common sense Republican values of Giuliani were able to turn the crime ridden streets of NYC into a haven of yuppie delights. Trumpzilla waded deeper into the blue dominion when he entered tv world with "The Apprentice". Now after years of studying Democrats in their native habitat Trumpzilla has emerged on the political scene. After watching Trumpzilla stomp his Republican competitors, Democrats cower in terror as Trumpzilla uses political rhetoric only the Obamataur once dared wield to bludgeon the Hillabeast.

Biden isn't a great candidate -- he's a clown who can't keep himself from blurting out stupid things, and he's famous for just making stuff up to bolster his own ego. But the thing is -- Trump has all those weaknesses too, just x10. And other weaknesses besides. Trump is probably the only Republican candidate I think Biden could defeat. Well, maybe Trump and Marco Rubio.

"Journalists" (Democrats with a by-line) and others going after Donald Trump are starting to look like those crazy characters that used to chase the cartoon character Roadrunner - "we got him, we got him", and then Roadrunner looks over his shoulder, and accelerates over the hill, out of sight. Leaving behind his wild laugh, while the pursuers face-splat like an Obamacare rollout. And so ends another episode of Talk to the Hand.

The bit about the Clintons may be true, but it doesn't ring true re the Obamas. Secret Service folks taught Malia Obama how to drive -- that sounds like friendliness on both sides to me.

I don;t know about the children and most SS types like children unless they are obnoxious princesses like Chelsea.

I expect this book coming out will be interesting.

The crazy behavior by the SS in the Obama administration suggests to me a rock bottom of morale.

We'll see. Michelle seems almost as nasty as Hillary and that takes some doing. They certainly seem entitled, like flying her mother to China for a vacation without the president.

Laura Bush also came in for some criticism re her trips abroad without her husband. And on her very first trip without him, which was to Europe, she took one of her daughters with her.

This is in comparison to the lady who wants to make it illegal to make and air films critical of politicians running for office. That's what Citizen's United (that she wants to overturn) was about.

Lewis Wetzel said...

The opposition to the Citizens United decision is astounding. The government's lawyers argued that if a publication was found in violation of campaign finance laws, the government should be able to seize the offending media -- even to the point of deleting purchased ebooks from a ctizen's reader.

Michael K: Did you ever read Michelle Obama's remarks to the Secret Service back in 2011? Unless she's the world's most brazen hypocrite, she sure sounds like she respects and likes them, and that it's mutual. An excerpt:

"But it’s amazing what you do and the professionalism that you bring to it. So -- but this visit is special for us. We love our detail. We love every individual who spends every minute of the day -- people always ask, what is it like to have Secret Service? It’s like -- for us, it’s like having family around. And it’s amazing how you all manage to do that by shifting people in and out."

If Hillary! hates Trump, why did she go to his wedding?

Was it just another paid gig for her? Is it a case of offer enough money and she will show up to cut the ribbon and sign autographs at the opening of your new parking garage.

In all seriousness, Trump basically said in one of the debates that he paid her to show up. No idea how true that is but if she hates him and showed up anyway, what other reason makes sense?

Integrity? Honesty? Respect for the law? Respect for the constitution? Respect for women?
