At the Café Fellatio in Geneva.

You can get café and fellatio.
Modelled on similar establishments in Thailand, the proposed Geneva café would add a new dimension to the sex trade in the city of the protestant reformer Calvin.

Put simply, the business model would see men ordering a coffee and using an iPad to select a prostitute they want to perform oral sex on them. They would then sit at the bar.
I like the way Calvin made an appearance in this news story.

In other Swiss sausage news — cutting the other way — the school district of Binningen in Basel-Country, in deference to Muslims, has taken pork off the primary school lunch menu. Not without objection:
“We are outraged. When we first hear [about the decision] we thought we weren’t reading it right,” Swiss People’s Party representative Susanna Keller said at a local council meeting on Monday. Speaking at the meeting, she argued that sausages such as the Klöpfer – a boiled sausage similar to the cervelat – were part of Switzerland’s cultural heritage.
“Could it be that we are adapting to certain cultures, rather than the other way around,” Keller said...
Can't we all — like the bratwurst, the schüblig, and the cervelat — just get along?

We all know that people are the same wherever you go/There is good and bad in everyone/And we learn to live, we learn to give each other/What we need to survive together alive/Cervelat, brat, and schüblig live together in perfect harmony/Side by side on my buffet sideboard, oh Lord, why don't we?

In deference to Muslims, specifically? I didn't think that Switzerland had become Judenfrei. . . .

I used to walk by "Dr. BJ's Salon" every day on my way from my apartment in Bangkok to the nearby skytrain every morning.

Well, no, we can't all get along. That seems pretty evident at this point, does it not?

Yeah, they were, sweetheart, and then you let a whole bunch o'foreign-types settle in your land and they brought their foreign-type ideas and values with 'em.
So you're exactly correct. They WERE part of your cultural heritage.

Hell, at least Easu got a mess of pottage for his birthright...you supersensitive Lefty geniuses gave yours up for a warm feeling of Progressive superiority. Nice going.

The Jews don't care what other people eat.

Islam demands submission and is not interested in co-existence.

This sort of crap will end badly for the Elites. I will not cry for them.

"Islam demands submission and is not interested in co-existence."

Did you actually read the article? The school board sent out questionnaires inquiring about parents' food preferences, and approximately 5% of the respondents said they would prefer no pork. That's in line with Switzerland's total Islamic population (5%), and the school board made the decision that non-pork food items should be available daily. Pork is not banned, and the schools are free to serve pork, but they must have a non-pork alternative. There was no demand for "submission," and you're being completely overwrought.

That said, Islamic migration into Europe is a big problem. This is just not a particularly strong plank for that argument.

I agree. They look like pathological stools.

Have you read History?

@Gahrie:

"Have you read History?"

No, never, whose it by?

There are plenty of cases in the world to illustrate Islam demanding submission. This is not one of those, and no amount of "history" changes the plain facts of the case.

That's not what the linked article says. If it's just that a non-pork choice must be given alongside pork, I wouldn't have blogged it.

A little dhimmi training for the Swiss. Apparently the Swiss are good students.

Thanks Althouse. You just saved me a bunch of cutting and pasting.

There was one quote from the school spokesman that says a caterer can have a pork dish if they want. It sounds like spin. So pork is off the main menu but can be added as long as there is a non-pork option.

From the article:

The official stressed that there was no talk of a “ban” on pork.

“If the caterer wants to serve up cervalat salad then he can. But he also has to offer an alternative,” the spokesperson said.

The availability of pork sausages in Switzerland will have little impact on my life. This Cafe Fellatio idea, however, sounds intriguing. Could offer a way for the baristas to pay off their student loans in short order.

If you'll go back and read my original comment, I was replying to the comment that suggested it was sensitivity to Jews and not Muslims. I stand by my assertion...are you suggesting that it was sensitivity to Jews?

There must be a nice long German word for "Have you really not been paying attention at all to anything that has been going on around you?"

I've seen a conservative Jew order shellfish and I've seen a reformed Jew order a Black Angus hamburger with bacon and cheese. I think those who are arguing that getting rid of pork-based sausages is being done to accommodate Jews are full of crap.

My first thought when I read about Cafe Fellatio was that I'm glad I drink my coffee black -- I wouldn't care to guess what sort of cream was in my cup.

Then I thought, you know, I don't think I'd want to get a BJ in public, whether I was getting a cup of coffee or not.

Then I read “In five or ten minutes, it’s all over,” and I felt sorry for Swiss women.

J. Farmer said...

@Gahrie:

"...are you suggesting that it was sensitivity to Jews?"

No, and I don't think the original commenter was being serious. I take the article at face value, and I believe that school board probably did exactly what they said (i.e. sent out a severe inquiring about parents' food preferences). I know that Switzerland's population is about 5% Islamic, so I assume that a good amount of that 5% probably is Islamic, though I don't know to what degree. I also don't know what the Islamic composition of that particular canton is.

If there is any evidence for a grassroots campaign to remove pork from Swiss lunches, it isn't contained in this article. The school board explicitly said that pork was not banned and that on instances when pork was served, a non-pork alternative would have to be made available.

@Big Mike:

"I think those who are arguing that getting rid of pork-based sausages is being done to accommodate Jews are full of crap."

Who's arguing that?

If men are being fellated while drinking hot coffee at the bar, wouldn't that pose a risk of severe burns during a violent orgasm?

I think they're going for a secretary-under-the-desk kind of arrangement.

You beat me to it. That's what I get for working once in a while.

The Swiss have avoided most of the flood of "refugees" by keeping the place expensive and limiting the Dole to citizens. My daughter was there last week and loved it. Especially how clean it is.

I'm a pork eater, but I understand full well that it is the worst thing you can put in your body. Plus the pig shit on factory farms is like nuclear waste.

No one knows what to do with it, except maybe rocket it towards the sun.

Every year I read about a pig shit dam bursting, and some poor immigrant drowning.

The Food Police religions are so stupid that even a French Lawyer like JohnCalvin just laughs at them. Eating anything as Sin is utter nonsense.

If we can deregulate sex and go unisex bathrooms, we can permit pork in our diet without offending God or the fools that defend Him.
