"Clinton talked at this last DNC debate about her failure as Secretary of State as if she was successful," Facebooks Jim Webb...

... because that's where he's speaking from now, not the debate stage anymore.
While she held that office, the U.S. spent about $2 billion backing the Libyan uprising against Qadaffi. The uprising, which was part of the Arab Spring, led directly to Qaddafi being removed from power and killed by rebel forces in 2011. Now some 2,000 ISIS terrorists have established a foothold in Libya. Sophisticated weapons from Qaddafi's arsenal—including up to 15,000 man-portable, surface-to-air missiles have apparently fallen into the hands of radical Islamists throughout the region. For a Secretary of State (and a Presidential administration) this is foreign policy leadership at its worst.
ADDED: Here's a report on the debate. Hillary was asked "How much responsibility do you bear for the chaos" in Libya.

AND: There's some talk about Webb maybe having the idea of running as an independent. Since he never got any traction as a Democratic Party candidate, it's hard to take this seriously. I assume he wants to be a voice, and we are reading his Facebook post. If he were to say he was an independent candidate, would that amplify his voice and boost his stature and credibility? He's just a voice, either way. To me, your credibility is better if you present yourself as what you really are.

Democrats don't care. They'll vote for her even if she was captured on video murdering someone. It'll take a Trump to crush her on the campaign trail. Someone who has the balls to talk loudly and long about all her actions.

This is the Bat Signal to pm317 to defend Hillary because of girl.

Hillary is so vulnerable on so many levels but a lot of it was Obama's foreign policy mistakes and there is really no good defense. It is a mistake on her part to have run at all.

The US's continual meddling in the world's fucked-up places can only be explained by kickbacks and other corruption. Nothing else makes any sense.

Jim Webb is not an idiot WRT foreign and defense policy. Unlike the other Democrat candidates and the majority of the Dem primary voters.

That's unfortunate for the country...

So is this comment thread going to be all about the use of "Facebooks" as a verb?

I suspect that she knows deep down that her tenure as Sec. of State was an abject failure, but being brazen about failures has worked for Dems for decades, and, esp. for the Clintons. Much of it was badly done, but probably little was as horrid as her Arab Spring, esp. taking down Quadaffi and throwing control of Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of so many of today's terrorist organizations, and the organization of which one of her closest aids, Huma Weiner's parents were leaders.

I do think that more and more people are asking where her head was at, when she was screwing up so badly here. And, with the close association between Huma and the Muslim Brotherhood, more and more people seem to be wondering whether much of our reaction to the Arab Spring was the result of their (possibly sexual) relationship. On the one hand, a lot of people can probably accept her taking a lover, after watching her husband go after woman after woman (after girl) outside their marriage. But, Not if it resulted in such abysmal policy failures. It is bad enough that she sold US foreign policy for cash for her husband and their foundation. It is probably worse if she did it for sex.

Really, please list the Hildebeast's successes. From HilliaryCare to the Russian Reset, to the Arab Spring the record has been one failure after another. Can she be the Best and the Brightest this nation can produce?

The answer is that she doesn't bear ANY responsibility.

Certainly, NO ONE has to ask where Huma's head was at?

I still think there is a good chance that she will pull out and claim health reasons. Then Fauxcahontas will jump in. I can't see O'Malley or Bernie as a serious candidate.

Trump is not Rick Lazio.

Wait until Israel releases the hacked emails that have been redacted or not released at all.

Even the NYT won't be able to support Hillary then.

It's mostly Obama's fault first for no aging her and second for listening to Hillary on Libya (along with Susan Rice and Samantha Powers).

And of course Hillary wants to do more in Syria (i.e. more Americans dead in Arabia trying to help the "moderate Muslims." Obama is doing just enough to appease our allies, which is probably too much.

And Russia shoved Hillary's reset button so far up her ass that she takes 15 minutes to shit during a debate.

Hillary Clinton's biggest mistake was not staying in the Senate. I don't see a great desire for a third Obama Administration or a third Bill Clinton Administration, I could be wrong but unless the Republicans intentionally self-destruct I just don't see her winning. And no, Trump isn't the Republican self-destruct mechanism.

It took Hillary about six months to apologize for using her own email server. Responsibility is not her forte.

Surprised no one is mentioning what I think is the main point of the post, which is that it sure sounds like Jim Webb might jump back in the race as an independent.

I wish Webb could un-drop-out of the race.

Sheesh, I'm starting to think all this Libya, Benghazi, and ME stuff are squirrels to keep us from delving into other areas. I'm on a (tedious) project involving US$ for global pop control, and her name keeps popping up. Here's just a taste:

"During remarks that she made for the 15th Anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the launch of a new program ... to improve “family planning” services around the globe ...
excerpt from Clinton’s remarks…."
"In addition to new funding, we’ve launched a new program that will be the centerpiece of our foreign policy, the Global Health Initiative, which commits us to spending $63 billion over six years to improve global health by investing in efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality, prevent millions of unintended pregnancies, and avert millions of new HIV infections, among other goals. This initiative will employ a new approach to fighting disease and promoting health."
...whenever the global elite want to launch another new eugenics operation, they announce it as a great “humanitarian program” that will save millions of lives. ...
This year, the United States renewed funding of reproductive healthcare through the United Nations Population Fund, and more funding is on the way. (Applause.) The U.S. Congress recently appropriated more than $648 million in foreign assistance to family planning and reproductive health programs worldwide. That’s the largest allocation in more than a decade – since we last had a Democratic president, I might add. (Applause.)

Not only does the United Nations Population Fund support and fund the forced abortion and infanticide of China’s “one child” program, they also promote abortion, forced sterilization and brutal eugenics programs throughout the developing world.

[$711] billion U.S. taxpayer dollars will be spent to promote abortion, sterilization and “family planning” around the globe [By] ...people who are actually convinced that they will save the environment by reducing the population. They think that while promoting abortion and sterilization may not be the most pleasant thing to do, it must be done for the good of the planet.

There is a lot of talk about that, with VP as either Biden, Wasserman-Schultz, or wait for it...FLOTUS.

Somebody on Insty suggested a Trump-Webb fusion ticket.

Webb brings the right sort of experience but the wrong sort of character.

Don't be silly Jim, Democrats are never responsible for anything bad happening. It's always the fault of Republicans, conservatives, dark money, the NRA, the 1%, corporations, capitalists, climate change, religion, Fox News, racists, misogynists, homophobes, lack of access to abortion, not spending enough money, or the Koch Brothers.

If I've forgotten anything, the Democrats can hold an e-mail fundraiser where donors can suggest additions to the list for $20, with the winner being announced by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on the next Sunday show she appears on.

Webb is good. Lieberman was pretty good. Zell Miller was good. Sam Nunn was good.

There used to be a few sane responsible Democrats.

Today, there are none.

Run, Webb, run!

Webb is a committed warrior who opposes foolish Bush Family wars for no reason except loot, and that makes him into a natural Ally for Citizen Trump.

Lewis Wetzel said...

A Trump-Webb ticket could beat Hillary.
God only knows how Trump would govern. The big shots in the senate and house (of both parties) would try to steamroll Trump. Harder to do if Webb is on the team.

Lewis Wetzel said...

Everybody who does not oppose "Bush Family wars for no reason except loot" raise their hands!
No one? Well I'll be.
You are a foolish person, trad-guy. Perhaps next you'll swear that your vote belongs to any candidate who opposes allowing Bill Clinton to 'run around raping women.'

I don't know if Webb would bring that many Dems to Trump that Trump isn't going to pull anyway. Simplifying Webb's appeal, it is primarily the Jacksonians, the Scotts-Irish who pushed from VA across the top of the south through WV (while still part of VA), KY, TN, MO, and in my family, OK, then CO. They have tended to be Democrats for the last couple hundred years, rebelling against the New England elites, who were the center of the Republican party for so long. They were also instrumental in settling the west, which is why they probably influenced those in the Rocky Mountain west more than probably any other demographic. Intensely populist, they have little love (and a lot of distain) for the establishment.

Notice something? They are already part of Trump's power base, and he talks to them probably better than almost any other white demographic. Which means that if Webb runs as a third party candidate, there is a chance that he could pull a lot of one of Trump's more important demographics away, possibly giving the election to Hillary. While Trump talks their language, Webb brings stuff to the table that Trump cannot. For one thing, this is also the demographic who, to this day, are the most likely to be found at the tip of our military spear. They are the ones most likely in our country to enlist in order to engage in combat. Not only because they like to fight (they do), but even more because they see it as their duty.
