#OnWisconsin/#GoBadgers.

UPDATE: Congratulations to the Badgers. Final 4!!! Meade and I stepped outside onto our deck, and we could hear the roaring cheers from down toward campus. Great joy in Madison tonight.

AND: An hour after the game has ended, we still hear yelling and horn honking, and we are inside with the windows shut.

You read it here first: Gators vs Badgers for the Championship.

Addendum - Gooooooooooooo Gators. You'll be hearing that a lot as the tournament progresses.

Further Addendum - And you'll be hearing the "Chomp" too. Kinda' stupid but there you have it.

Sorry, we west coasters are rooting for the Wildcats.

The CBS affiliate in Madison is airing some crap that's not basketball. I just don't understand the world anymore.

Go anteaters.

Pity that the Fighting Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz failed to make the tournament.

The fact that they play in Division III may have had something to do with that.

As General Sheridan said at Missionary Ridge, "On Wisconsin!"

Heck of a game.

Go Bucky!

I'm with you Sorun. These days, no cable equals no sports!

I want to do that tall pollack from Chicago-number 44.

He looks tired and much older than a college student.

You know he has a huge Polish schlong.

My 20 something Brazillian fuck buddy named Maura, but who I call Brazil, just sucked me off.

He is fucking beautiful. I found out tonight he is a "carpenter". I had to look up what a carpenter does and he worked today-on a Saturday-how hot is that? He like works with his hands hard labor-I an in ecstasy. Someone who works on a Saturday for a living. He lives in Dorchester, a place I would never venture to-which is extremely hot too.

He is like 25, seriously, but has prematurely greyed. The combo of the 20 something face, with sculpted body, and grey hair, is overwhelming me. I was actually shaking tonight-it was that intense.

My Indian husband is now watching Netflix and I an on the duvan with the rare clumber, who is snoring big time, watching the Badgers.

ciao.

Watching the last two minutes of a basketball game is tough on TV. It's a bajillion times worse watching the SI.com feed.

Last time Badgers made it to the final Four, my wife and I polka-ed to the Bud song. Guess I'm gonna have to go wake her up.

Heartless Aztec said...

My final bracket is still good to go.

Titus said...

Congratulations Madison and Wisconsin. I am so happy for you!!!! Great game!!!

Guildofcannonballs said...

When they showed B. Alvarez once, I knew we'd win.

But the gratuitous intimidation, greater than the dead guy from The Sporanos, by repeated showings?

Guildofcannonballs said...

Second half started with four fouls in four minutes.

Thanks Barry.

Great game to watch. Congratulations Badgers. The Big Ten could have three of the Final Four. Pretty impressive.

How about the possibility of three B1Gs in the final four!

Crazy Street Corner Guy Off His Meds Says:

You think you know me but you don't know me. I played basketball in high school, I played basketball in high school until I hit the center from Greenwood Heights in the face, I hit him in the face and hit him and then they kicked me off the team and they kicked me out of school just because I hit him in the face because he was asking for it, you can't bump like that and think you can get away with it, you can't just bump like that and expect nothing to happen. Damn right this is my corner, the bus stop is over there, you better go over there and get away from my corner, this is my corner. I used to play basketball, I will knock you down. I hope your bus is late.

We don't need no stinkin' Badgers.

I found out tonight he is a "carpenter".

It is our fortune that you write well. Otherwise, you would be out-n-out self-absorbed...and perhaps, vulgar.

Happy to be tapping into our Wisconsin roots and celebrating with the Badgers tonight out here in Spokane, Washington!

Congrats to the Badgers. I am a UA fan but and couldn't really watch since my teen girl was with me. But I knew that UA had to hit their foul shots to win and they didn't. Unfortunate about the late charge. Hate it when calls like that seem to make the refs decide a game. But one of the best games of the tournament. May the Badgers win it all!

Titus said...

sorry mad as hell, that is my life.

tits.

is this in Hockey? Ididnt' the badgers were that good on the ice this year

mccullough said...

Craig,

I agree with you about the charge call. That said, if refs didn't call so many minor fouls, the Big Ten would have 3 teams in the Final Four every year.

Earthquakes in Los Angeles. Frank Kaminsky spotted dropping 28 in Anaheim. Coincidence?

What does this mean for the Packers?

I can't imagine that; a Michigan undergrad rooting for a conference rival. I know a former UW prof who used to live in your neighborhood. She's an Ohio State undergrad/University of Chicago Ph.D. Even as a Wisconsin faculty member, she knew who to root for. No doubt; no hesitation.

Yer' all dun. There's a BIG Gator just a swimmin' in the pond of the Final Fours. Repent because yer' time is nigh.

What's going on with 7-footers who can shoot 3s? Nowitzki, Durant, and now Kaminski. Weird trend in basketball.

Carnifex said...

If we (UK) doesn't make it, I'm pulling for Sparty. Izzo's generally a class act. would pull for Wisconsin but Bo's is a best a douche. Remember a few years ago, he had a kid wanted to leave, and Douchy Ryan said "Yeah, You can go. Just not here, here, here, there, here, here, there, not there,...ahh here it is! Hell...you can go to hell" Pretty much classless act to the kid, and only public outcry reversed the decision.

I think UK, and UF are the only teams that can hang with the Big(insert current number here), and i don't like Billy (Eddie Munster) Donovan. Cries too much about unfair treatment. It's one thing for fans to cry, the coach just needs to suck it up.

Gators have got a real good team, but are beatable... Our freshman was cutting to the basket when he slipped on the floor, so we lost our last game with them. Heck we lost our last three! But we're playing great now.

With Cauley Stein, i wouldn't worry about UM today, but since he's out for the rest, i'd say it's fifty/fifty if we or they win.

Carnifex said...

BEllison

You forgot Anthony Davis. and Isaiah Austen in that list.

UK recruit for next year...Karl Towns. 7'1" and can light it up from three. Also has good handles, and is pretty fleet.

Our starting center this year, Dakari Johnson, is old school center. Plays with his back to the basket.

Bob Ellison said...

Carnifex, good pointers. I was not aware of those two players.

One of my sons is a basketball fanatic, and he keeps telling me the 2014 NBA draft is insane with talent. We might be in for some interesting years...if only the NBA could figure out how to referee a game honestly.

Tucson didn't take the results well.

Phil 314 said...

In many ways Tucson and Madison are similar. Madison has better restaurants though, probably because of the Capital.

On 7 footers shooting the three, some of us are old enough to remember Jack Sikma's days with the Milwaukee Bucks. He had a nice three-point shot later in his career.

Perhaps the most important thing about sports is that it provides just about the only opportunity for intense expression of emotions ... in a situation that really doesn't matter.

For the same reason, university politics are so incredibly intense because there is essentially nothing of the real world at stake.
