An extra day to sign up for Obamacare... because somebody just noticed the existence of time zones.

Huh?

Tomorrow Obama will push Christmas back a week. There is nothing this man can't do.

Or, could they be punishing the tech staff for botching the Obamacare rollout by making them work till midnight Christmas Eve?

Nobody does a better job of carrying water for Obama than NPR

I was sweating bullets trying to get signed up by midnight, but now everything's okay. Thanks Barack, you're bestest president ever.

Get your Obamacare policy through the Althouse Amazon portal. Order by midnight Christmas Eve and it will be in your stocking Christmas morning. Free pair of a plaid union suit pajamas and a cup of hot chocolate.

Why not just do away with them? One time for the entire country. Call it, oh I don't know, call it Coordinated Obama Time (OTC).

Laws? Where we're heading with Obamacare, we don't need Laws.

Left bank,

No they've punished the insurance clerks to work Christmas Day.

Well, there you go. Time zones. Which themselves solve, not cause, the problem. NPR. Awesome.

Moves the the bad news enrollment numbers to a holiday.

In western Europe, they have one time zone. True story.

The Affordable Care Act will go down as the greatest accomplishment of the Obama Administrations -- but will that be a good thing or a bad thing?

LOL!!!!

"Gallup released a separate poll on Monday that found 36 per cent of Americans say Obamacare represents President Obama's biggest failure. Just 22 per cent believe it's his greatest achievement."

I wonder how many of the 22% are damning him with faint praise.

Apparently Obama is signing up for Obamacare today.

So maybe he gave himself an extra day because he wasn't actually able to sign up before the deadline.

Which gives me the giggles.

All the bridges across the Mississippi River and all the skyscrapers in New York City were designed by engineers and architects who attended lots of lectures in college. It works.

What's driving the attacks on lectures is the decline in the quality of students. Faculty are struggling to find ways that work for not bright students.

Is no one here distressed that Obama's administration simply keeps altering the content of the law as they see fit? Constitutional government lets us resolve our differences through the legislative process. This is dictation. Not even competent dictation.

They have already forgot their talking points. Didn't the Democrats state that requiring people to sign up is racist? That requiring any affirmative action or statement to receive positive benefits, and presumably also negative benefits, is racist? Holder argued that passive and affirmative statements and actions were equivalent under the administration's selective enforcement of the law.

In the meantime, he is five time zones away from the problem. Problem solved !

Desperate to pump up enrollment numbers by any means possible. Even one more day helps a little.

Same thing in the western US.

They should extend the sign-up period indefinitely. Venus time.

If form-filling is reported as sign-ups, and sign-up lasts forever, then there's never a time when the government needs to count up the uninsured.

Problem solved.

Apparently Obama is signing up for Obamacare today.

1) And we know that to be a fact, exactly, how? From HHS press releases?

2) What are the odds that Obama himself actually logged into the site and followed all the bouncing balls until the policy choice was in his cart? Did he pay for it yet?

3) He probably had his crack crew of hundred million dollar no-bid Canuck consultants do the actual data entry. For an extra 50 million add-on to the original agreement.

Oh god, this is huge though. I forget what it was now, but I had to do some government form that had a deadline online ***and they shut the website down on non-business hours****.

What was the point of that? Isn't the entire point of a website that you don't have to shut it down as there is no government gremlin hunched over a hand crank making sure the lights stay on?

It was particularly absurd if you were on west coast.

I'm so trying that excuse on the IRS for taxes.

Oh, wait. My taxes will be done in February, the weekend after I get my W-2.

Just as Obama claims to have "discovered" buying insurance is hard, he now claims to have "discovered" time zones.

What will this cherub discover tomorrow?

The incompetence is breathtaking.

Apparently the system could not recognize Obama's identity when he attempted to sign up, so his staff did it.

From the comments in the link: "For what its worth... nobody else has been able verify Barack Obama's identity either."
