Got the candy cigarettes today. 10 boxes gone by lunchtime. I've got a monkey on my back.

I know what you're talking about, bags, my man. I went down that same dark road and I had learned not to care, blowing a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.

Not candy cigarettes, though. Never candy cigarettes

Be aware that if you run out of candy cigarettes while in St. Paul, you won't be able to buy them in a store.

First they came for the candy cigarettes,
and I didn't speak out because
I wasn't a candy cigarette.

Who ever bought the Nikon 7100 ... I'd love an honest user review once you've tried it out. One area of great interest to me is whether it has a feature that enables use of older F-bayonet AIS lenses with manual focus and automatic exposure control? I'm told it does, but haven't had one to check out. I have a couple of unusual AIS series lenses I'd like to be able to use for digital photos....most Nikon D-SLR's don't adapt AIS lenses for any automation or interface.

Do you have to be 18 to buy candy cigarettes these days?

I want a full frame camera. I believe I deserve it.

Only one of my four lenses is made for the DX format camera, D90. The others are made for full frame thus they are not using their full potential and that is a bummer. The whole time the lenses are clumped there going, "I could'a bin somebody."

I heard betamax3000 was hard at work on a screenplay called "Coffee and Candy Cigarettes".

Here's my suggestion for when you boys are ready to move up to man's world: gum cigars.

I have Written Dialogue for Hundreds of Pages of Screenplays: I Cannot Plot Worth a Damn.

Although the novel I wrote many years back ("Suitcase Venus") has been read by tens of tens, with great Feedback: everyone seems to Love conflicted Good Samaritans in Bitchin' Cars with Strong Women setting then Straight. All my Hard Copies are Gone.

I should Post it someday, once I can get it Off the Dang Zip Drive.

I followed it with a 400-page Novel about a State Park Ghost Town where the Graves of the 1800's were Robbed by Baristas.

I think I'm better with Short Form and Hope El Pollo Raylan "Serling's" it -- still the best part of This Last Week (other than my Wife's Bacon and Eggs).

Thanks, beta. I will in the future. I'll try to catch you off guard.

@aridog

I bought the camera. I figured it was time to upgrade from my D70. Not sure I can answer your questions about the lenses but I'll give a brief review of the camera in a few weeks on a cafe thread.

DrMaturin ... thanks. I've been tempted, and the recent price reduction increases that temptation.

One lens that I have in F-type AIS format is a vari-focal lens...e.g., sort of a zoom, but requires refocusing at every extension length. Sounds like a pain in the butt, but actually for macro/micro work it saves a lot of hassle with focusing rails, etc....just add an appropriate AIS extension tube and the vari-focal feature acts like the old rails platform did for images at 1:1 or 2:1 or finer,....don't know the science of why, just that it works. Someone else here may know the why.

The key thing to look for to determine if it is AIS compatible is an AIS auto-indexing ring at the bayonet base, with a tab to connect with the exposure setting tab on an AIS lens.

I've piece by piece disposed of most of my extensive Nikon collection from film days. I was probably among the very last amateur adherents to the old F2 bodies and DP view finders. It broke my heart, sort of, to sell the F2 bodies and F lenses off ...like a f4.5 500 mm full optical, non-mirror, telephoto, for example...custom made, very heavy, but great for shooting from a blind.
