"He wandered from room to room with his head in his hands wondering what had hit him."

An 80-pound tree branch had hit him in the forehead. He had recently emerged from a month-long coma.
He felt nauseated and slept most of the day.

When he told me he didn’t “feel love,” I tried to stay calm.

The Blonde will tell you, movies and TV notwithstanding, a crack in the head is tough to come back from.

They built a marriage after such a devastating TBI.My grandparents just had one.Grandfather got hit over the head during a robbery which aggravated a tree fallinf on his head as a teen.Yes TBI effects can ve cumulative.I have a cousin today who played football in college. His wife is a saint. In most cases it is an acknowledgement that the personality changes are because of the injury.Acceptance is the key.

The "love" came back.

You can't beat that. Miles and Sarah may have a marriage that will be the envy of many.

This is a real problem. Compare it to the silly little problems Gwenneth Paltrow (to name a recent example) has.
When a problem is serious getting through it with dignity makes a real difference in your life.

Imagine that.

When times get tough, remember who you are. What you don't see is what you will become, but as long as you are together and helping each other, you will make it. Sometimes one has to carry the load for the other, but that's what being a husband or a wife means. Hang on to me, I will carry you through.

Actually she has a very big problem: the over the hill actress needs publicity and another movie deal to hang on to her fame and fortune.

When you think you got it bad, there is always somebody else who's got it worst.

It feels like something is still greatly wrong between them. I hope my feeling is not accurate.

Amazing story, a real tear jerker. Lumberjacks call those branches "widow makers".
