"I wouldn’t be wasting time on a Bob Menendez political obituary."

"I think Bob Menendez is a very tenacious person, and he has the advantage of six long years and a fairly forgiving political environment in New Jersey."

According to — who better to say? — Bob Torricelli.

Think of all the Bobs who've thrived in fairly forgiving New Jersey.

It's all about the time frame. Torricelli had to withdraw when allegations emerged in the midst of a campaign. He didn't have any leeway for riding out the New Jersey forgiveness arc.

Rush Limbaugh once opined that for democrats, sex scandals are often career enhancers. I'm not so sure, how are Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, and John Edwards doing? Maybe they're only enhancers if your name happens to be Bill Clinton?

Jersey? Diogenes' search goes on.

He's a Dem, they both are. The normal rules of political scandal only apply to the GOP.

The Dem rules rely on beds and live boys and dead girls, something like that. Ask Bobby J

Bill Clinton got away with what he did because of a booming economy and full employment. Good economic times garners a lot of forgiveness.

In Menendez' case, there's an "Ewww" factor here that may turn off a lot of women.

And a lot of womyn.

PS Colonel, Willie got away with it because the media covered for him the way they're doing for Choom.

Well I will suggest the media was sympathetic but its hard to provide cover when his antics were all over the nightly news.

Fact is, the vast majority of the electorate knew that he was banging the help. His supporters said ignore it, its personal issue while a good chunk of the rest simply didn't give a shit. When times are good like they were in the 90s, no one other than the morality police cared he was getting a blow job. Hell when you look at who he's married to can you blame him?

He's a puffy little pustule of corruption....It's hard not to be believe he's guilty of something. Shakespeare was on to something when he equated Richard's spinal deformity as an outward manifestation of his moral deformities. We should view puffy little men with the same suspicion that Shakespeare viewed hunchbacks.....If this puff ball was guilty of such malfeasance, just imagine the awful crimes that Christie is capable of.

Forget it, Jake. It's New Jersey.

Part of Clinton's good fortune is that most Americans didn't feel bad for Hillary and Monica Lewinsky wasn't a sympathetic person either.

Corey Booker will be the one to take Menendez down. He wants a Senate seat and doesn't want to run in a primary against Lautenberg next year if he doesn't have to. Booker's people will be dumping on Menendez behind the scenes. Maybe the can rally the "women's groups" against Menendez.

If a politician isn't forced to resign over using the services of underage prostitutes then there's no solution to the problem of New Jersey short of lining bulldozers blade to blade on the Pennsylvania border and having them push east until the whole state is in the Atlantic. Then start over from scratch and get it right this time.

What's the old political saw about a dead prostitute or a live boy?

If Menendez was a Republican, the networks would be all over this. Imagine the hosts of MSNBC........

If the allegations against Senator Menendez can be substantiated, he has committed felonies under US law. In that case, the only votes that count may be those of the jurors.

I am reminded of the complete apoplexy the DEms and the attendent Republican morality police had over the secret service and the Heroes of the military patronizing prostitutes legally.
Then the boot licking worship of the black bulldyke that was ending careers and firing people over "unacceptable behavior".

Now Menendez, now a member of the Elites is getting the same "pass" Dem and Republican Elites gave the banker Elites in the Wall Street Meltdown.

Go figure....

And people are upset when Jackie Chan calls America one of the most corrupted nations on the planet??

In China they would have ignored the Heroes of the Military and protective service boinking the whores, sent the black bulldyke to a labor camp as disruptive of the group harmony, and used the bankers for organ transplant stock.

Menendez is like a senior Chinese communist Party official. Who is backed until the power structure deems it proper to replace him with a better cadre and make the Menendez counterpart a nonentity sent to an obscure village to live out the rest of his days in disgrace.
