Hillary time!

Here. Testifying on Benghazi to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.

ADDED, 8:31 A.M.: Hillary has a fairly authentic crying quality in her voice as she speaks of embracing the families of those who died in the attack. That comes just after she says in a steely voice that those who serve in countries like Libya know they are going into a dangerous place and cannot work "in a bunker." Risk comes with the territory, and Chris Stevens fully understood where he was going and what he would face.

Yea sounds like she is blowing it off. This is how Obama and her are going to frame it in order to not take responsibility for denying the security requests. By blowing it off and blaming the world for being "dangerous".

"Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch. Freedom comes from the recognition of certain rights which may not be taken, not even by a 99% vote. Those rights are spelled out in the Bill of Rights and in our California Constitution. Voters and politicians alike would do well to take a look at the rights we each hold, which must never be chipped away by the whim of the majority."

James Bovard is sometimes credited for the phrase, and he did use it in the Washington Times, August 29, 1992:

"The USDA's concept of democracy reminds one of the old joke: Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner. Why should the government give some farmers the power to vote to destroy other farmers' property rights?"

The problems isn't that it happened.

The problem is the prevarication AFTER it happened.

And while we’re on this point: I'm quite sure that Hillary is committed to getting it right. Very committed.

Starting pictures are always committed to getting it right. We still sometimes sit them down in the first or second innings.

Andy Reid and Lovie Smith were all committed in getting it right. They're gone, gone, gone from their old posts.

No one was more committed than John Scully at Apple to get it right.

So the question for Ms. Clinton is, "How many chances to get it right do you think a Secretary of State should have, especially after presiding for years over a process that was obviously wrong?”

Libya Security Lapse: The Budget for Embassy Security Is Not Responsible

There has been some back and forth between Republicans and Democrats over funding for security in Libya in the wake of Ambassador Chris Stevens’s death. Republicans have questioned whether the State Department had adequate security to protect the ambassador, and Democrats have countered that Republicans tried to cut funding for embassy security. What does the budget record show?
According to the fiscal year (FY) 2013 Congressional Budget Justification Department of State Operations (p. 11), overall funding for those programs has increased sharply over the past decade. Indeed, Worldwide Security Protection is more than double what it was a decade ago. Despite reductions from budget peaks in FY 2009 and FY 2010, both budget lines are higher than in FY 2008...

It is tempting to look for a scapegoat for the tragic events in Libya. However, if one exists, the overall budget for embassy security is not it. Funding for that purpose has risen sharply over the past decade. Moreover, the State Department has considerable latitude in allocating security funds based on current events and intelligence on possible threats. Why that latitude was not applied in Libya deserves further scrutiny.

She new within 10 minutes of the assault that it wasn't a protest...her "officer of the day" aka "duty officer" would have told her senior leadership that fact immediately by encrypted secure telephone similar to the old STU III phones, now updated STE Phones, used by the military.

Myself, I expected exactly what she has put forth about when who knew what. In short, nothing but baloney. I've repeatedly said, since this all began, why I think that way...based upon my own personal on-duty experience with hostile incident/disaster notification procedures.

To paraphrase an old military ground forces radio call term, she and/or her senior leaders, as well as the military/DoD, got a "Broken Arrow" call and they failed to respond. It really is thagt simple.

Recently reported is the issue of a communication from Benghazi the morning of 11 Sep 2012, Benghazi time, that the contracted security force of Libyans had said they couldn't and wouldn't defend the Consulate and Annex. In other words, State knew in advance the fugits were heading for the fan blades....and then sat on their hands.

Inga Benghazi posts go into the sinkhole.

Move along, nothing to see here.

It's just "bad luck."

Don't know what she was saying at the time, but the fist pounding was a dead giveaway that she was lying at the time.

Wait till she starts using her shoe.

If you want to know what really happened when someone screws up, you don't get the best info from the one with their ass on the line.

Did someone ask her if she was glad she retired as SOS before al Qaeda was able to distribute all those shoulder-launched missles she let them get from Gaddafi?

We know she can dodge sniper fire with her broken field running techniques, but she'd be a sitting duck in an aircraft hit by a point-and-shoot missle that anyone can expertly use.

Baron Zemo said...

I didn't have a chance to watch the hearings.

Did anyone ask Hillary why this administration is facilitating the takeover of some many formerly stable regimes by the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamist groups?

Are they going to do anything about Syria or will they just ignore it? What about Mali? Are we going hands off and are we pulling back all across the board?

Did they put her feet to the fire to get some answers or was it the same old bullshit just a different day?

Baron Zemo said...

Oh and why are we shipping those tanks and munitions to Egypt? Is that a good idea now with this new government?

Rand Paul says Hillary should've been fired. CNN's Terry Moran asks what his bona fides for foreign service are.

Ummm...what the hell were Hillary's qualifications?

Right.

Notice you have zero interests in facts or the truth. Nor are you interested in accountability.

I mean, the dead Ambassador sent a request to Hillary Clinton regarding extra security. Said request was ignorned.

But don't worry Hillary looked human!

Idiot.

Clinton's a twice elected U.S. Senator. She's a club member. Very few hard questions will be asked by other U.S. Senators elected multiple times.

Inga, I never met a truly crap character that wasn't housed in a human looking, fun loving, good talking weasel.

There was zero new information.

There was zero clarity and consicision.

There was zero accountability.

It was all words, words, words.

Spun so gracefully; so elegantly; so wistfully; so marvelously.

And you were wafted away, you silly, shallow woman, you.

Meanwile, you and your children and grandchildren are being robbed and lied to every day.

But you are in la la land.

Seeing Red said...

Hmmm, Inga loves Michelle & Hillary's superficiality.

Their image is all that matters.

It's all about appearance.

The substance is just "bad luck."

William said...

She laid down quite a thicket of words. It's amazing that she was able to enunciate so many words and say nothing. It's a real talent. I don't think Kerry is able to say so many words, although it must be said that his delivery is far more torpor inducing.

Where's the Purple Owie on her noggin?

PS Can you imagine Admiral Kimmel or General Short at the Pearl Harbor inquiry saying, "What difference does it make?!"?

Well, at least the Romster is being vindicated.

PPS If she used her "sick" time to get "a little work done", she ought to put a sign on her face saying, "Dig We Must For a Greater New York".

Colonel Angus said...

If they possess even a squirrels IQ, let's hope so. Hope Assad prevails since the alternative is Libya. Let the French handle Mali. After all, it was their colony, let them clean it up.

As Oop talks about how "human" Hillary was, the same can be said of Adolf, Joe, Mao, and Saddam.

Yes, if the statement ended with"...the President has been frothing at the mouth to get us in this war, now we are"!

Running around making videos, getting Hilary in trouble, making her cry.

Inga, do you think she should be asked why she supported military action to engage in regime change in Libya and yet had no plan for its aftermath which one could connect the dots up to the murders of our staff there?

Is that a fair question?

The true believers on the left will never accept their leaders can do anything wrong and will march in lock step to their command. Clinton, Obama, Pelosi, Reid are the high priests of their religion. To question them would be to question everything they believe and thus turn into an exercise in self-loathing.

No sadness. None at all. Your perception is waaaaaaaaaaaa breathes aaaaaaaay off and so is your remark. Nobody here expected anything out of that woman. Nobody. Nobody believes a word emanating from her corrupted mouth, except her sycophants and they believe everything that fits their reality and dismiss everything else .

It's not Hillary's performance that makes me sad, Chip.

It's the cocksucking of authority that those great challengers of authority, Democratic liberals, are engaging in now that their guy holds the power.

It's a hellish display.

Yes, it's a fair question. Why does anyone, including Republicans like McCain support intervention in regime change in sovereign countries? We need to not involve ourselves in other countries revolutions.

We need to stay out of it and keep our diplomatic staff out of those countries also.

That's quite a flippant statement. 4 Americans are dead, Hillary is avoiding any questions, and all you can say is that she looks good. Well, I've said this before and I'll say it again, what if your daughter had been killed, and someone was questioned about the circumstances, and they started bullshitting their way out of the responsibility, and someone on this blog made a flippant statement. I'd bet money, you'd be pissed. But, since the people who were killed aren't related to you, who gives a fuck, right?

Paul said...

Inga,

When Bush went after the Talbain and Al Queda he invaded the countries harboring them. In doing so he kept a power vacuum from happening. It was the only wise way to fight.

But Obama instead a) shortened the 'surge' in Afghanistan from 50,000 men to 40,000 and thus failed. In Libya he used drones and air strikes and did not send in boots on the ground. And thus he failed (and simply left a power vacuum for the terrorist to take over.) Same thing with Egypt. Yes failed again. And now it's Mali!

In order to destroy an enemy and yet sow the seeds of peace you need to stay there till a responsible government can be emplaced.

Can you imagine after WW2 we not occupy Germany or Japan and let the Nazis and Tojoites stay in power?

There are times for war and times for peace, but when you do make war you do it well or don't do it at all.

Gadafi could have stayed in power and NONE of what has happened in Algeria or Libya would have occured.

Inga, I'll bet you don’t' realize that in pushing into Iraq and staying there for so long, Bush created a magnet trap - a terrorist roach hotel - that drew in all the fanatics from the region where the American army could kill them.

It made Cairo, Amman, the Saudi peninsula, North Africa, safer places because the real hard core went to Iraq to fight and try to kill American troops.

It also split Syria and Iran in two, making their alliance more difficult, and causing them more concern for who was on their border.

But why do I bother, you probably don’t care about such strategy as that.

I'll remind you then that Hillary, the one you were earlier showering with accolades, was a big proponent of the Libyan regime change.

You might wish to keep that in mind when gush over how human she is.

Anonymous said...

Is that a fair question?"

Wasn't that the chief criticism the left stuck on Bush - that he didn't plan sufficiently for what comes after the Iraq invastion.

And Obama made the exact same mistake.

After all the arrogant and smarmy criticism of Bush, and the genious boy Obama did the exact same blunder.

Rand Paul: Doing his job, attempting to find out what happened at Benghazi and why no one was held accountable = embarassing performance.

Hillary Clinton: Failed at her job, lied through her teeth about it, and continues to lie under oath = great job, strong, concise, human.

Inga must have started her day off with a big bowl of Quaker instant bitch, because she is especially cuntastic today.

Didn't see you reply to AllenS either, hag. Miss that one? Do you need some Hilary!esque new glasses to better read the screen?

Benghazi had been experiencing major unrest at the time (pretty much the entire time since the war started). In times of such unrest embassies and consulates MUST have heightened security. As far as on-the-ground security goes, the administration treated Benghazi as if it were Luxembourg.

These two people you don't respect enough to hold to the standards you hold people you despise did the damage. Stop trying to justify it.
