Man shoots his girlfriend in an argument about the possibility of a zombie apocalypse.

"He felt very adamant there could be a military mishap that would result in some sort of virus being released that could cause terrible things to happen," said the cop. “She felt it was ridiculous. He’s passionate about it. And it escalated from there."

This zombie thing used to be mildly funny.

Then it became really stupid.

And now, the idiots are killing themselves over a fantasy.

Obama voters, no doubt.

I hope nobody mentions guns here. Clearly, if this guy didn't have a gun he would just have eaten her brains out.

And three posts in, this is about gun control.

Because, with 300 million firearms in the US, the answer is, "round-em up."

Uh, yeah.

Because rounding up 12 million illegal immigrants is physically impossible, the oh-so-smart-and-compassionate-left lectures us.

Round up 300 million firearms?

No problem.

Oh no. I'd say unless he had to shoot her again, she proved herself right. Who won the argument is another debate.

I meant he was the zombie.

If Jerry Garcia's fans die and come back to life, they'd be The Walking Deadheads.

No danger, though, as they'd just congregate in front of outdoor stages and dance badly.

Though they might try to bum a joint.

If zombies only want brains then he's pretty safe.

The Walken Dead would be scary, though.

More cowbell, reanimated.

What are you talking about? The living fans of Jerry Garcia and/or the Grateful Dead are already The Walking Deadheads.

I'm not one of them.

I don't think anyone believes there are no instances where the lack of a firearm could have saved someone from being shot or killed. The question is whether these instances outweigh defensive uses and other benefits of firearms enough to justify restricting them.

The argument above is much like the question on vaccines. Yes you accept some risk, but you eliminate other risk. It's revealing that the left manages to understand this when it advances their policy preference while also failing to understand it when that advances their policy preference. It's such a striking discordance I almost believe they think dishonesty in service of their policy preferences is ok.

And it escalated from there

A zombie apocalypse is possible! [BLAM!] So, there!

Can one really believe this capsule description offered by the cop? The devil is in the details.

Crime, guns, stupid, zombie
There ought to be a written test for handgun ownership with a question in each of the above categories.

It looks like the Mayan's might be right and the end is near.
Obama re-elected. G Spot injections. Zombies. Signs everywhere. Repent or party while there is still time.

This incident is more of an argument in favor of a ban of television than a ban of firearms.

We need to revisit the rules for commitment to mental institutions.

This is one reason why you should not have a boyfriend who is "not quite right in the head."

I don't see these type of incidents for being the great argument for gun control that many seem to perceive them to be.

For one thing, these types of people seem to kill their Significant Others with whatever is at hand, including baseball bats, vehicles (remember the lady in CA who executed her cheating husband with an SUV?), knives, fists, scarves & ropes (strangulation), etc. It's the mental state that's the problem.

This is a very good argument for not letting demented persons have guns legally, but realistically, given that we don't have great ways to identify these persons, the best protection for family members are restraining orders, and when those fail, a good firearm.

The world is full of tragedy. It always has been. The world is full of the imbalanced. It always has been. The world is full of objects that can be used to kill people. It always has been.

Fixating upon one particular item used by these types is not particularly helpful, and indeed may place the potential victims at more risk.

That guy is really, really stupid if he thinks a .22 is going to protect him from zombies.

Hell we already have a mishap. Bunch of tards voted for Obama (my apologies to the retarded, it's NOT their fault. They were born that way, the voters well just did it to themselves.)

I wouldn't do that if I was you. I think they are working in your favor at the moment.

Rule #1....don't argue with stupid people.

Rule #2: don't date stupid people

Rule #3: if breaking rule #1 and #2 pretend to agree with above stupid people and stay the hell away from them.

You can't stop stupid.

Oh, Troll thinks he made a funny.

Interesting since, according to the Koskidz poll, 24% of the american public agrees with me.

But then all the Trolls in the old CCCP saw commitment as a way to get rid of the freedom fighters.

Why is it that I suspect that a mashup of this story with the G-Shot story would result in one of the "Fifty Shades of Stupid"?

In a logical, rational world, a zombie apocalypse is, of course, ridiculous. If only we lived in one.

Personally, I think the laws of nature are based on whimsy. Who's whimsy is debatable.

No way, man. What happened to their microbuses?

One of many.

It's unfortunate that men really don't have the opportunity to abide by that rule when choosing girlfriends.

Once you get a year or two out of your twenties, and thereafter, the opportunity grows.

MaxedOutMama said...

BarryD - laughing, but the same certainly goes for men. It's not like there AREN'T really loony women out there, and they certainly can be dangerous to your health, wealth and peace of mind.

Why? Cheap and plentiful ammo. Get a 50 round mag for a 10-22 and your safe from a herd of zombies with much less weight to carry around.

Much quieter too and less recoil to deal with, allowing the survivor to dispatch a large number of Z's without attracting more...unless they chain-swarm, of course, but there's nothing that can be done about that regardless.

.22 ammo is plentiful. You would be able to find it just about everywhere in the country in decent, post-apocalyptic amounts.

.22 bullets, with their lower FPS and weight, can go into a skull at a soft point, but can't get back out. This mean they puree the braaaaaains before expending their energy.

Actually, it took four posts to mention gun control.

What surprises me is that the young people believe in the Zombie Apocalypse with religious fervor.

I believe the Zombie Apocalypse is the resurrection of the dead on the last day. Christians will know what's going on.

People aren't well catechized today. Imagine the fear and ignorance in the face of the unique event at the end of history.
