Prepping the University of Wisconsin campus for President Obama's visit.

Bascom Mall was a crazy construction site:

Somewhere in the background there you might be able to see the Law School

Apparently, Obama will make an entrance through the Education School:

"Please DO NOT Climb Trees."

At the top of the hill, workers — perhaps student volunteers — were assembling into groups under hand-held signs, like this one, which says "Perimeter":

Untitled

And this one says "Inside Water":

Untitled

Perhaps that has to do with handing out water to the audience members who are not permitted to bring water (or food).

And here we see a white sheet draped over the windows of Chadbourne Hall (a dorm), which presumably has a view of the place where the President will stand:

I know, security and all of that, but I'd be pretty pissed if a political campaign came by, covered my only exterior window with a giant tarp, and then found out that my landlord not only allowed it, but encouraged it.

Some animals are more equal.

Hey all, you know, I was in the room when it was planned. YES, we planned the UW Madison visit the day after the debate in JUNE! The fact this was kept under-cover for so long was baffling to me. I wondered if they hated my idea. BUT, now secret is out. I shall be in Madison, too. AM on Air force one.

AND, TO-NIGHT

Meet-up with me at the National Press Club. I am in the 2nd row with a red-head from Harvard. She wears the t-shirt: I heart O. (She really does that, you know.) I am wearing a black pin-stripe bespoke with yellow/blue tie (am from Michigan, you know that). My shirt is peach color. I have a french beard and I am 5-10. Come and join me.

We will celebrate the LIVE destruction of Romney.

Every-one of my gang from K-street will be here. Our friends from NYT, NPR, MSNBC, WashPost, DailyBeast, HuffPost, all will be here.

Cheerio!

I made a sign for you if you care to take one. It says'

Mentiroso Mentiroso pantalones enfuego.

and that means Mint roses mint roses, I'm panting, let's go!

Which is a common phrase in Latin America. Here you go.

Wow, I was wondering what they were going to do at Chad (I lived there for 2 years). Was not expecting that.

Excellent!

Maybe someone will ask him why he voted against the bill to waive the Stafford Act he railed against in that totally obvious racist (no, not him - me, for bringing it up, lol) video in New Orleans.

Oops.

Sorry.

Off limits.

There I go again.

Ugly.

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Oh my.

I understand our hostess is rather cross with people who show videos of Our President being a dick.

Looks like very good thorough protection. The best. State Department could learn a thing or two. You know, about protecting our diplomats in extremely hazardous locations.

Or, maybe someone can ask Obama why his 20 year association with the Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. gets a total pass, yet Romney gets stained by an independent, albeit conservative, journalist unearthing a true to life, no-lie video of Obama "pandering" to African Americans in New Orleans?

Oh.

Off limits too?

Too ugly?

Racisssssst?!

Ok.

Just let me know, and help keep me in line.

Don't want to offend sensitive sensibilities.

Dude.

Seriously.

No fair.

You have to grade Obama on a curve.

After today, EVERYONE knows that.

Unless you want to hurt feelings.

And again with the flag on the ground.

Yeah, I know they'll just claim there's a tarp under this one, too--- as if that makes it OK.

It's almost like the Obama administration is trying to piss off as many patriots as possible.

Who is paying for all this?

I one saw a Jerry Brown for President rally at the University of Texas. It was a doomed primary event, so it was nothing like this in scale.

About five minutes before Brown arrived, a couple of buses pulled up and disgourged about a hundred brown people, who unfurled vaguely fascistic red and black flags. Minutes later, a small hispanic man in a very nice suit stepped out of a car and walked onto the rally ground, preceded by three four cameramen walking backwards.

My UT peers were baffled. They recognized neither the insignia of the National Farmer Workers, nor did the name Cesar Chavez mean anything to them.

Why does the flag have to be on the ground?

There's a spotlight at the Abe Lincoln statute at the top of the hill, prepped to cast an Abe-halo behind tomorrow's speaker.

Is inside water anything like corporate water?

One hopes the Secret Service isn't off cavorting with those coeds that are the backbone of the porn industry.

It's also why he said, "Corpseman".

Sorry mr, I posted before I saw your Z reference.

Not sure how serious I should take folks who are blaming the ObamaAdmin for the flag on the ground, but it ain't just a "claim", there is a tarp under it...zoom in and you can see it. Reason it is on the ground is 'cause it had recently been assembled to be hung (see the piping?) making it impossible to fold.

Assembling a show, much like making sausage, can be messy sometimes. Don't know if that makes it "ok" or not...this former Boy Scout & Infantry Solider is ok with it given the circumstances*...but thought anyone who was truly upset about it deserved an explanation.

*and yes, in the interest of full disclosure I knows the folks on that crew.

The paper said that U.W. Madison is getting $15,000 from the campaign. On Sunday, Obama campaigned at our school and the campaign gave the Clark County School District $10,000 to use a soccer field.
UW is getting ripped off.
