Every-one is focused on Re-Election of the greatest and best POTUS in world history.

He is not responsible for the death of the US Ambassador lack of security detail.

He is not responsible for any lost of jobs.

He is the best and every-one loves him.

Hasn't this been the essence of his campaign even back from 2008? All the cool people are with him.

Mark Nielsen

You're confusing cool with clueless. BHO has bent the rising generation over and rogered them. And still they support him.

Clever ad.

Sadly, this should be persuasive with the target demographic, and will likely be spread through social media at virtually no cost to the Obama campaign.

Wince said...

Doesn't the ad concede that Obama no longer excites?

So, instead of referencing the candidate, refer to volunteer work for the campaign as "that thing on Saturday".

You won't belong socially if you miss "that thing on Saturday".

Yet, even the sticker she puts on him looks used and worn, as if it had been discarded by a previous volunteer.

The Thing Movement (Thingbewegung) was a little known "spiritual/cult" movement in Nazi Germany. The word Thinge is an ancient Germanic word with political roots.

I wrote about it here in a blog post, inspired by one of my father's letters he wrote my grandmother in the 1950's: link

@Althouse. Polly wants two crackers for my previous comment because I mentioned cults and because I linked to my own blog.

Please?

From Hit and Run, an exit poll shows Obama's buddy, el Presidente (for Life) Hugo Chavez losing in Venezuela. That result cannot possibly stand.

Perhaps the students can make the rounds at UW-Madison obtaining petition signatures demanding that Obama be permitted to use his teleprompters at the town hall debate.

Creepy.

"Clever ad."

Why do you say that?

ddh said...

The Obama campaign didn't make that ad. Someone else--racist truthers--made it happen. It made me think that Obama isn't even human. How racist is that!

Here's the proof:

To be more serious, I thought the ad was dumb and insulting to its intended audience. Why would anyone want to spend their time campaigning for Obama instead of a more satisfying or productive activity? The ad doesn't have an answer, and possibly neither does the Obama campaign.

Laugh Out Loud.

Kids will have a hoot with this.

Even the Obamatroms know a geeky pandering lame out of touch message.

Obama is so over.

You can only lose your virginity once. You can only elect the first black President once. There's no real romance or thrill in electing Obama. There's people who might vote for him because he's personable and speaks liberal crap elegantly, but even college freshman know that his re-election will not be some kind of transformative event.

Chip Ahoy said...

What is this? What is everybody referring to? Comeon, what is this? What? What am I being led into? WHAP! Obama Sticker!

Like a branded cow.

This is a peeve that makes me something of a crackpot, someone pinning or putting something on my clothes, my jacket, whatever, even when it's a desirable pin and something I should want, I just flat don't like that. What the girl did in the video is the worst example of the peeve because it was mystery mystery mystery ambush. I pull it off as soon as they put it on. As if it's not even me disappearing it. Wipeonwipeoff. Try that again, wipeonwipeoff damn. Okay, again wipeonwipeoff okay Chip, let's just forget about about the Sons of American Legion pin, the Angelheart pin, the American Flag, Sons of the VFW pin, ILY interpreter pin, Readers pin. You know what I put there instead now? A Sergio Bustamante pin. It's a child riding a star like a hobby horse. Babies, women, and gays go straight for it.

Then they feel the jacket and they're mine.

Incidentally, Sergio Bustamante has a place in Puerto Vallarta at Cañada Verde next to un conocido mío, a slum lord who lives in one his places there at Vallarta half the year. The cold half, obviously. Don't tell him I said slum lord, but he is. I guess they're not actual slums. Just little houses. A lot of them. A lot of little houses clustered here in Denver. Okay, I take it back, but he still freaks me out. Anyway, he told me Sergio Bustamante despises gringos, which is strange, I think, considering we are the people who made him rich. So I challenged him and he goes, Oh no, he hates Americans. So I go, except you and me. And he goes, except me. Meaning himself. Did you notice the Bustamante multiple-eyed fish in the Bond movie about the Central American drug dealer? Bond wakes up in bed with a massive hangover in a strange but beautiful house, the cocaine guy, and all woozy and the first thing that comes into focus is that ceramic fish. Except it cannot be focused because it has three sets of eyes. That's an excellent sculpture to have. It's like spray-painted pastel colors.

I'm definitely going to that thing on Saturday. It's at that place, right? I understand there's going to be stuff.

I got your thing on Saturday, right here!

They couldn't find a pro-O college-age white boy with clear skin? Or are they targeting geeks?

Sammy said...

First the ad is beyond lame, the only kids that this ad would inspire are sad losers who still believe in " HOPE and " CHANGE" , and haven't they graduated and are looking for a job living in their parents basement.

And asking college kids on a SATURDAY to waste their time and energy to reelect a politician and in a 2 minute ad, you don't show his picture or him speaking, or a motivating message for why they should help get Obama relected, it's all symbols and the abstract , calling it a "thing", reelect the "President" , as if it's shameful to say Obama's name or refernce it "Obama relection drive", is a dirty sentence, we have to confuse the kids and make it seen as if their going to a cool kids party.

Obama reduced in 2012 to being referred to as a " thing" , I guess it's better then a empty chair.

I was hoping for an eyeroll and a dismissal by the guy at the end when he found out what was going on. Someone should do a parody.

Ah. Earnest, bright, young people without a clue.

I think da yoots are finding having a job is better than being cool.

Rusty said...

It would have been better if instead of a lousy sticker she handed him a cell phone.

sane_voter said...

That was the whitest ad I've ever seen. Not a black face to be found. Obama is racisss.

I still find the Obama symbol creepy. Obama's cult of personality
isn't about America, it's all about dear leader.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

This isn't a presidential election. This is a high school popularity contest. Come on young people, vote for the cool guy with the hollywood grin.

The prize: Crazy debt, high unemployment, continued economic recession and "free" (well not really free with rising premiums, taxes and penalties) healthcare! So. Cool.
Bonus: your generation will get the invoice.

"That's probably just the result of doing multiple takes"

They can't afford more than one sticker?

How pathetic. Loser has no friends and goes to an event that he can't even identify in the hopes of having some kind of social involvement. He arrives and the place is empty except one woman and he can't even bring himself to say no to communism. What a pathetic weasel boy.

That seemed to have been much of the motivation to attend the "be-ins" "sit-ins" in the 60's protest movements.

There were a few really dedicated (delusional) idealists, but really most people went for the party.

I can say this because I am of this generation: As soon as those delusional boomers who are nostalgic for their old glory days DIE and get off of the stage the better off we all will be.
