"Bombshell: Obama.com Owned by Bundler in Shanghai with Business Ties to Chinese Government."

"In an explosive report set to send shockwaves through official Washington, the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) released a 108-page GAI investigation into the threat of foreign and fraudulent Internet campaign donations in U.S. federal elections...."
The unusual Obama.com website redirects traffic directly to a donation page on the Obama campaign’s official website, my.barackobama.com, which does not require donors [to] enter their credit card security code (known as the CVV code), thereby increasing the likelihood of foreign or fraudulent donations. The website is managed by a small web development firm, Wicked Global, in Maine. One of Wicked Global’s employees, Greg Dorr, lists on his LinkedIn page his additional employment with Peace Action Maine and Maine Voices for Palestinian Rights. According to the GAI report, 68 percent of all Internet traffic to Obama.com comes from foreign visitors.
ADDED: "By the way, Obama’s incredible $181 million take in September was especially notable because only 2% of it was reportable...."

Watch this video to see how easy it is for anybody, anywhere in the world to donate to Obama. If it is an amount less than $200 FCC does not require you to trace it back to the donor. We saw this happen all through 2008.

Michelle Malkin has been writing/documenting/warning about this stuff for YEARS since circa 2008, iirc. Of course not only did it all disappear down the MSM memory-hole--it made sure it never even registered on the general public's radar-screen in the first place..

Obama could eat live babies while fornicating with an underaged goat and shooting heroin on the White House lawn and the media would focus on saving Big Bird.

This will get very little media attention. If it does get attention it will be to go after the source.

Who is Michelle Malkin? How come never read about her in the NYT?

Well, at the K-street dinner last night, we heard that Peter Baker (the great reporter) is now assigned to cover Obama re-election front-page stories. His hidden mission: Save Obama from the mistakes by his staff.

Ergo: Every-news outlet is now dedicated to bringing their best people for Obama-Biden. Who is there for Romney-Ryan? Not even their paper-boy? No one likes Romney. No. One.

Well, not everyone. Rush Limbaugh did a lot to stir up support for Hillary in the form of Operation Chaos. We've heard for years about illegal campaign donations going to Obama. However, the odds that Holder would investigate criminality by Obama or his minions border on winning the PowerBall lottery (195 million to one).

I wonder if we can just tell everyone: "Foreign governments have illegally funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to Obama's campaign".

It is the only reasonable answer to turning off all security checks. And willingly paying the ~$10 million for doing so.

For example: a few million to a campaign is a good buy for the Muslim Brotherhood to keep the US cash flowing to Egypt.

A question about this would be great for the Foreign Policy debate.

Bruce Hayden said...

Last time around, there was a fair amount of evidence of illegal contributions to Obama's campaign - such as sequential donations by entire football team rosters, or donations from Disney characters. And, last time, they quit doing credit card verification sometime in the summer. The question was always how much was union money, and how much of it was foreign. All illegal, of course, but to the victor go the spoils, and the spoils include the DoJ, which might otherwise have investigated this.

And, this is what is a bit scary for me. The Dems in particular, but politicians in general, have been cheating to win elections for at least the last 100 years, and it probably goes back to the founding of our Republic. And, those doing so rarely get caught or have to pay for it, and one of the reasons is that, that if you win, you often control the investigation apparatus.

What has happened though is that everything now is international and mechanized. Sure, you could tell if an IP address were from out of this country, but that would likely decrease donations (and, yes, can be circumvented).

So, we now have Obama hitting some new record in donations last month, most of which do not have to be reported because of their size, and this scandal, reminding us what happened last time. And, we have four years of Eric Holder as Attorney General, reminding us what happens when crooks take over the law enforcement arms of the government. They can litigate to prevent states requiring photo-ids to prevent illegal voting, but refuse to look into where all those obviously illegal contributions came from last time, and are likely coming from this time.

So, we are a month from the election, Obama blew the first debate, is failing to break 50% approval, and we are likely to see the airwaves and TV blanketed with the ads bought by what more and more looks like illegal contributions, in order to salvage this election for him - maybe because if they lose at this point, it will be investigated, and people will go to jail.

Of course, the more of this that happens, the more an Obama reelection will be questioned, and the less trust we will have for a government won this way - something like Venezuela yesterday, Russia earlier this year, and maybe Iran last year.

mark said...

@garage "HUGE PROBLEM: Web traffic stats."

That is your excuse for the crap the Obama campaign is doing? Really. It is "web traffic stats"?

Your apology really needs to address the throwing away of near $10 million of donor money due to refusing to use basic security. Security they do use if you buy an "I Love Obama" hat.

Of course Obama could put this all to rest by actually coming clean on donations to his campaign. That isn't a hard request. Don't you want that transparency he promised (and lied about)?

Maybe you can parlay your lofty position as Number One Jester of Anne Althouse's Blog's Comments, Creators of Ideas That Are Weighed (and Found Wanting - but let's not get into that), and Man Who Has People to Criticize Him on the Internet into... something. Something productive.

I'm sure of it. You're such a winner that it's inevitable!

Any lefty blog comments yet about how the GAI is a front organization for the Koch Brothers and Richard Mellon Scaife? It must be a part of the vast right-wing conspiracy, right?

Oh, no! You'll be able to falsely call me a liar and other unimportant things for all time? Gosh, whatever shall I do? Should I pull my skirt up to my knees and try to walk through the puddle of your hatred and bigotry without getting too much on myself? Will my petticoat be sullied?

TCE, I will continue to mock your bigotry and hatred because I don't like bigotry and I don't like hatred. Consider yourself thoroughly mocked and despair.

Internet tough guy spreads his hatred and bigotry on the internet. News at 11.

This is a very serious scandal that is not hard to understand. It ought to doom Obama.

It's a measure of how far astray the country and the media have gone and the cynicism of citizens that no one believes that this scandal will be more than a "bump on the road" for Obama.

Agreed, creeley. Sammy asks, "Why are people not more outraged, these is foreigners buying an American election..."

It's very upsetting and depressing. This should cause outrage throughout the MSM and be utterly unacceptable to the American people.

But it's Obama. What else is new?

Of course, I hope there might be consequences, I hope the egregious extent of corruption here will (in AP's apt metaphor) resound more than that unheard tree falling in 2008.

But it's Obama.

Almost a billion dollars, boggles the mind. How much vote fraud will that buy, I wonder.

"Forget it, Jake. It's Obama."

Tomorrow's headline: "'Bombshell' muffled by thousands of media people forming a human shield around Obama".

Nothing to see here; move along now.

If anyone else wants to fight with Crack, can you preface your comment with:

**CRACKFIGHT!**

'cause that will make it easier to skip. I'm not picking sides; I'm just really, really tired of it every. freaking. thread.

Not our fault the Professor finds some merit in his performance art and so allows him to be an arrogant asshole to the point where regular people actually engage him seriously and other people like me decide to have some fun with him. After all, my performance art > the little Emcee's any day, and that includes his crappy 'contributions' to the musical culture.

Joe Schmoe,

Yeah, the insecure ones, hiding behind their computer screens, are making it a thing now to follow me around the blog - which is supposed to prove how much of a nothing I am. Hilarious.

It must be crippling to be a coward,...

The ADDED quote at the end is deceptive. Two percent of the contributions were reportable, not 2% of the $181M take. This is Patterico's error, not Ann's (who simply used Patterico's quote).

Of the 1.8M contributions, 98 percent were under the reporting threshold (and those averaged $53). So about $93.5M was collected under the reporting threshold, and the remaining $87.5M was reportable (an average of $2430 per contribution, which is really close to the $2500 maximum). This seems odd for contributions to be so heavily weighted towards the two ends of the distribution.

OK, that evoked some unintended mental images. Thanks.

"lay off [AP]. He is a brilliant satirist."

I quite disagree. AP is good at the over-the-top positions, but s/he's lacking one vital characteristic of the brilliant satirist: humor. I at least cannot imagine a more dull, plodding exposition; I practically die of boredom while I'm hurriedly skipping over AP's posts.

Looking at it another way, though, I guess you could say AP is fitting--s/he's brilliant in the precisely the same way that Obama's brilliant: NOT.
